    Ever since I started trying to get better at counter-strike, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of working with a coach. But I always felt like it wouldn’t be worth it for a lower skilled player like myself. Like won’t I just get better if I play more? Isn’t it kind of embarrassing to spend money on something I actively suck at? I’m not sure why exactly I’ve made these judgments. After all, hiring a coach or tutor is an accepted practice for novices in all sorts of hobbies and activities - so why not competitive video games? After waffling for a bit, I decided it would be easier to justify this to myself by making content out of it, so here we are.

    I'm a long time player (15-18yrs) so most of the things is something I'm already familiar with but I always find 1-2 new things every time. This is why I love CS even after 1000s of hours you can still learn new things. Loved to see your improvement, only thing I see thats missing from you is confidence now, trust me you'll get a lot more advantage in pug matches if you have it.

    Live coaching is a really common thing in mobas, it works a bit better there, but it's still rly efficient for cs. I find it much more useful to look at coaching from real live situations, because things shown in replays or on training maps can often ignore the smaller mistakes and bad habits we all make and have. Thank you for posting these videos, they've helped me improve a lot!

    This was really cool to watch! Super good and really did sharpen the fact that live tactics/comming requires a common lingo that both speaker and recipient are comfortable with. I have a friend who has done that in a few rounds for me when they've died before me.

    I love this commentator, and this was the first game I realised for sure he wasn't the content creator.
    He is pretty stark, not "caring" about feelings, if the value of a lesson he tells has a meaning worth telling.
    Also like that he still is watchful to not disturb too much mid game, to understand and give high impact help from what could be improved.

    About thowing all you utility in CT right away, in every round: isn't it a bit too predictive?
    If I was T, after couple rounds I would just chill and wait you to throw everything you've got in first 10 seconds, and then know you have nothing left.
    But maybe getting control of the car makes it all up...?
    anyways, fun live-coach video. Must have been hard to coach and be coached live, when situations has to made fast sometimes 🙂

    What happens to you at 4:05 is something I'm focusing on fixing right now. You get a kill a want to capitalize on it by smoking fast and overwhelming the last guy on site, but what you actually do is rush things and take tons of risks. It's appearant with shaky mouse, crapy crosshair placement and lazy smoke lineup.
    Now instead when I get an opening kill I try to slow down and wait for reactions instead of trying to get the timing

    • @achillesmichael5705
      @achillesmichael5705 3 месяца назад

      Sometimes you have to press the advantage. make sure teammates can refrag you but if you know it's likely 3v1 on site just go.

    • @alfred9805
      @alfred9805 6 месяцев назад

      For getting better I highly recommend to watch Spilo on youtube, he's an overwatch coach but his videos about improving changed my mindset completely, can't recommend enough, just don't watch the overwatch specific content if you wanna improve at cs. Then I'd say pay for a few coaching lessons. Once a week should be more than enough for a start. In one hour the coach will give you 1-2 key points to improve, then you can focus the rest of the week on getting better at these key points (and not winning, winning is useless). Until next week's lesson where the coach will give you other areas to focus on.
      Winrate will naturally go up as you get better

    • @kennaee
      @kennaee 6 месяцев назад +2

      just max the size and zoom it so you see most of the map at once, nothing special to it. Also if you want it even bigger, you can use 110% hud scale, minimap scales with it.

      @alfred9805 6 месяцев назад +1

      What do you mean? Care to explain? I was wondering recently if shooting with mouse1 was actually the optimal way to play because of the micro movements that clicking can create

      naw moreso the mouse itself fing it up@@alfred9805

    • @internet82
      @internet82 6 месяцев назад

      @@alfred9805 i did not mean mouse1. i meant the side mouse buttons, that is my bad on wording. with side buttons binded to grenades (or really anything important), every time you pull out a grenade you technically have to take your thumb off of the mouse and misposition it which causes you to "lose your grip". having the same consistent stable grip that you practice with is important. in the vid you can see he does a seemingly random "wobbly" and floppy movement, it's due to him repositioning his mouse into his hand again since he lost his grip, making the grenade throw much more difficult than it had to be. you can see how this would be extremely bad for example if you were holding an angle and needed to comm something, but your comm is binded to mouse4, then someone peeks right after you comm.
      as for mouse1, that's debatable. in osu, and sometimes in aim trainers, people prefer keyboard because there is no extra force for each target which is especially useful on scenarios with a lot of different targets. however, in actual games, it's not as important since you are rarely given scenarios with a lot of big easy targets. click timing would be much more important, and i'd argue that using mouse1 definitely helps with that.
