    Ever since I started trying to get better at counter-strike, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of working with a coach. But I always felt like it wouldn’t be worth it for a lower skilled player like myself. Like won’t I just get better if I play more? Isn’t it kind of embarrassing to spend money on something I actively suck at? I’m not sure why exactly I’ve made these judgments. After all, hiring a coach or tutor is an accepted practice for novices in all sorts of hobbies and activities - so why not competitive video games? After waffling for a bit, I decided it would be easier to justify this to myself by making content out of it, so here we are.

    Bro, i just want to say watching your coaching videos has helped me immensely. I felt like you were a copy of myself with respect how you play and the mistakes you made. I been eliminating them and just been more aware of them and i just been doing so much better. Even carrying my five stack more often then ever before. I crossed 16K last night in Premier. Thank you and keep them coming. Also i so happy to see you improve and get better at this game.

    Run out and shoot them is always a possible, valid play. Whatever the rank. All you need is to time it based on whatever info you have. If there is enough chaos on the map, just run out and shoot and there are many times you will catch even the best players off guard. Key is to time your shift walks and pickup all small info going on such as util sounds, kills, reloads, footsteps etc.

    Main issue new players struggle with is just spamming util when they don't need to. Im gonna be honest new players shouldn't even buy util until maybe like 100 hours into the game. Just get a feel for the maps, get a feel for the guns and then when its time to learn proper util they might feel less inclined to spam util and be more inclined to use their gun.

  • @Altlos489
    @Altlos489 6 месяцев назад

    24:48 A bigger reason to not stay tucked in at red box is that you have no util to escape and no teammates watching your back so a T could walk out behind you while you're focused at the top of silo.

    I just wanna ask with pienix or people who can give me the answer I'm sometimes confused about when we can keep our steps so as not to be heard and when we should run in any situation

    • @jakedalton6236
      @jakedalton6236 6 месяцев назад +2

      If you think someone’s close proximity, always walk but if someone just planted on site opposite from you and it’s 1v1 then you for sure want to run to site until you get to close proximity to the bomb then start walking. For example, on Inferno, if the guy took bomb A and you are B, I would run to library and start walking once you get to library because he could be anywhere near or on site to hear your footsteps.
      The whole point is to not let your opponent know when you are coming so when you clear them, they will really have to have precise aim and great awareness. Also in the beginning of rounds, you want to run to your spot where you are going to hold and then once you get there walk around quietly without making noise so the T’s won’t be able to locate you easier. For example, if you wanna play ramp on nuke you’d just run to bottom ramp or left side of boxes and then just make sure to walk. If nobody pushes and your teammates start fighting A then you wanna clear trophy real quick then rotate through there or go back up through heaven but have your aim at trophy or ramp when going back to heaven. It’s useful to walk backwards in situations like that and then you’d proceed to walk up through heaven because if they’re fighting on A site then they can hear if you run from that close.
      Also, once you get your first frag, if you’re being pushed by multiple enemies and they’re closing ground on you fast, don’t worry so much about walking as much as worrying about shooting and creating distance. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if they can hear you if you can’t hit them because their aim is better and vice versus but walking is critical in alot of situations. I’m only 15k rating so I’m not that great but I hope this helped a bit.

    You should take some of pienix's advice about your opponents with a grain of salt. This concept that if the trade doesn't come right away they're not there is true at his level but at lower ranks you will see people come out alone and then a few seconds after the baiter arrives and surprises you. It's a lot easier to read the game at higher ranks cause people will play together and do strats. Your games your opponents will be more disjointed and do random stuff so expect the unexpected.

    • @AGuyInAG
      @AGuyInAG 6 месяцев назад +13

      Bad take IMO. You don't get better by expecting your opponents to play bad. Don't play to expect everything that could happen, because you can't be 100% prepared for everything. Instead, it's better to use your game sense to read the most likely or best play your opponent could make and play around that. Only once they've shown you they play dumb, then you expect dumb shit.

    • @cluuless_tv
      @cluuless_tv 6 месяцев назад +4

      Agreed with above. If you expect the smart play and they play dumb and bait a lot, you can adjust to that for that game. But if you expect bad play because, "my opponents are bad" you'll get steam rolled by smart players

    • @ziggyabab4669
      @ziggyabab4669 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@cluuless_tv I'm not saying you shouldn't expect an instant trade attempt initially. What I am saying is that if that doesn't happen assuming it's clear is risky in lower ranks.
      It doesn't have to be one or the other you can play good and still be ready for baiters or bad positioning. It's better to err on the side of caution.

    • @9RepeatingMonkeys
      @9RepeatingMonkeys 6 месяцев назад +1

      You don’t practice for idiots when you’re trying to get better, like in poker you want to play your expected value
      If you die to someone hardcore baiting their teammate you can adjust AFTER it happens once
      But you should always prepare for the correct play because the incorrect play is easier to counter once you have the read
