    Ever since I started trying to get better at counter-strike, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of working with a coach. But I always felt like it wouldn’t be worth it for a lower skilled player like myself. Like won’t I just get better if I play more? Isn’t it kind of embarrassing to spend money on something I actively suck at? I’m not sure why exactly I’ve made these judgments. After all, hiring a coach or tutor is an accepted practice for novices in all sorts of hobbies and activities - so why not competitive video games? After waffling for a bit, I decided it would be easier to justify this to myself by making content out of it, so here we are.

    I'm twice your rating, but I'm learning stuff from both of you. It goes to show the game has so much depth and complexity that it takes a long time and a lot of rank to be super well rounded. I have a lot of strengths you don't and vice versa. (also ranks haven't had enough time yet and sometimes win/loss only systems aren't great for team games) Great videos

    Throwing a sub your way. These are really helpful for someone like me getting back into CS after casually playing like 8 years ago. Love how the coach doesn't pull punches while still being constructive. I've seen coaching vids from other games and they are either overly nice about things that need fixing or toxic. This is like listening to an NBA player coaching someone who insists on shooting one-handed. Stop doing that. Start doing this. What were you thinking? Good job.
    I hear him asking 'What was your plan here' in my head now whenever I blindly push and die.

    Yo the clips at the end on Inferno though? Looking crisp with the peeks, man!
    With 3,3k hours into the game (csgo) but never actually learning it the correct way, I find myself struggling a lot these days. I had a long time without playing and came back for CS2, but the lack of fundamentals gets me killed constantly.
    Another thing: 22:30 ; it's my suffering aswell. If people swing wide or run and gun, I can't keep my cool, end up spraying and usually lose the fight.

      hey bro im just like u haha. 4k+ hrs and took a 2 yr break from cs. i didnt learn cs the proper way either 😅.
      to help with your issue, as ive faced the same coming back to cs2, i recommend learning all the mechanics from scratch again. you know the typical adadada, spraying bursting and the like.
      because you've played before you will adjust quickly, and you'd be popping heads in no time bro :)

    I like the Pienix observations but sometimes he gives advice for teams instead of solo Q. Ideas like "a teammate can throw this for you" are simply not possible in mmr because the teammate has to have patience, knowledge and be willing to hear your call for that to happen. And those three things are very rare to find in a teammate at the same time. In soloQ the plays that work are one man executes when you are "the worst" of the team and solid peeks and dueling tips for when you are the carry of the team. You have to learn how the be the best in the team and the worst in the team. The latter being one of the most difficult concepts I see for people to understand.

    • @xboxlasagne
      @xboxlasagne  8 месяцев назад +1

      I totally agree that you can't rely on randoms for a lot of stuff - but I do queue with at least one friend in my party pretty regularly so some of the stuff is easy enough to pull off. I do like the idea of modulating playstyle in solo queue based on whether you're able to carry or not.

    Hey question here, what training servers do you use for angle clearing (vs bots?) I thought it was 'retake' but i can only find retake situations versus real people. I want to improve my peaking and angle clearing on a variety of maps. Thanks in advance!

    • @xboxlasagne
