Ever since I started trying to get better at counter-strike, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of working with a coach. But I always felt like it wouldn’t be worth it for a lower skilled player like myself. Like won’t I just get better if I play more? Isn’t it kind of embarrassing to spend money on something I actively suck at? I’m not sure why exactly I’ve made these judgments. After all, hiring a coach or tutor is an accepted practice for novices in all sorts of hobbies and activities - so why not competitive video games? After waffling for a bit, I decided it would be easier to justify this to myself by making content out of it, so here we are.

I love how Pienix always stops and goes “mmm” as he recalls a lineup, then proceeds to throw it perfectly almost every time. Dude just had a database of these things in his head.

The camaraderie developing between you two is awesome. I also wonder that, as much as you are learning, I think pienix is learning through coaching, too. Here's to both of you. Cheers.

I love watching these and I’ve definitely learned a lot. But In round 3 I don’t exactly agree. I used to throw my smoke first but too many times higher tiered players will nade or just walk through it or hop into canals. A molly stops that and you can still throw a smoke in mid to stop progression or play around it for 18sec

Scrub here. Regarding the peeking in and out - I found myself falling into this habit since signing up for Refrag 2 weeks ago. So now I make try to make a conscious effort to do so less often.. In Refrag it's been decent practice as it forces me to improve my aiming speed and also strafing accuracy since in real games we don't have the luxury of peeking and waiting most of the time.

21:15 it is most likely because you subconciously didn't made up your mind whether you go for the kill or the info play.
You need to train your brain what kind of play you are going for before making the move.
