    Ever since I started trying to get better at counter-strike, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of working with a coach. But I always felt like it wouldn’t be worth it for a lower skilled player like myself. Like won’t I just get better if I play more? Isn’t it kind of embarrassing to spend money on something I actively suck at? I’m not sure why exactly I’ve made these judgments. After all, hiring a coach or tutor is an accepted practice for novices in all sorts of hobbies and activities - so why not competitive video games? After waffling for a bit, I decided it would be easier to justify this to myself by making content out of it, so here we are.

    I really enjoy PIENIX's coaching style. I like that he really doubles down when you've done something wrong, even if you had good intentions, and will make you say why you did something and realize it was stupid. You're trying to improve objectively, so you gotta be objective. Thank you for uploading this stuff. I only played Lake WM since the mode debuted because I was sick of toxic comp and idiots back when CSGO first came out, but after watching these and being forced to play Comp (Rip lake), I genuinely think I've been doing better and actually enjoying the mode. I got some tips: I’d say 99% of players develop this same habit at SOME point during the learning curve. Just saying “stop crouching” isn’t enough. Most importantly is to practice pull down because the core of crouch spray is pull down compensation. To Coach’s point, I’f you do the workshop and aim botz you will crouch less. I’ve even had to unbind crouch from space for practice. Trust me, press crouch and getting HS instead will break the habit. Alternatively I place my thumb BEHIND my space bar now instead of constantly on/over it. The thumb placement changes the subconscious reflex into an actual decision.

    best advise is to practice with deagle for aim and movement. the deagle forces you to move more agile and to sidestep in between the shots/taps instead of crouching and spraying. if you master to only one tap with deagle, you can play every other weapon aswell. so go on deathmatch server or whatever, pick the deagle, and focus to only shot if your crosshair is on the enemys head. it will take you a while at first to get decent in this case, but ego or stats doesnt matter when it comes to practice.

    • @andrewskidmore1367
      @andrewskidmore1367 8 месяцев назад +2

      I think that’s because In DM, you don’t value your life, because you know you will respawn, so you take extra time to line up heads and successfully counter strafe. But in MM, you have 1 life a round, and you are subconsciously focusing on staying alive by ANY MEANS - which causes panic sprays etc - rather than worrying about getting good shot placement - which in turn, keeps you alive for longer - Maybe this is hard to understand, but when I figured this out, it boosted my gameplay in MM and faceit like crazy

    so i thought accuracy is influenced by movement.
    is this only the case when pressing W or S or in general, even by strafing?

    • @TheNeatwork
      @TheNeatwork 8 месяцев назад +2

      Accuracy is always influenced by moving, but if you are strictly strafing, you can stop on a dime by pressing the opposite direction and be near-instantly accurate. This is called counter-strafing.
      When moving forward or back, it's much more awkward for your fingers to press the opposite key, since it usually means moving your middle finger to the key. So holding W or S while you strafe out to engage the enemy puts you at a significant disadvantage.
      I recommend searching up counter-strafing tutorials to learn more, it's an extremely important fundamental mechanic to improving at CS

    So crouch spraying has been preferred in 1.6, source, csgo but because subtick has ruined serverside refresh, sprays aren’t accurate/inconsistent based on the tick updates and thus is insanely rare your spray will be controlled enough to spray transfer or even anything past the first 5 bullets thus it’s better to just keep cstrafe bursting 3 shots until they fix it or dont

    Is crouching that bad if you’re not holding the whole time you’re shooting? I do have a bad habit of crouch spraying but most of the reason I started doing it in the first place was to make it harder for my opponents to hit my head, and also as a noob alternative to counter-strafing. (I still have like, less than 150 hours in game). I know if you hold crouch then it won’t take long for your opponents to move to your head but if you sprinkle in some crouching and stand back up pretty fast, strafe, crouch, repeat, then theoretically it could make you a harder target to hit, no? Couldn’t it be helpful if your aim is pretty accurate and you’re able to track pretty well?
