- Whilst things are not 100% back to normal for choirs around the world, we're sharing this series of videos to help you get back in good voice with some famous choral repertoire. This Christmas we're releasing two famous traditional English carols, which also appear on our brand new album. This is 'O little town of Bethlehem' in one of its many wonderful versions. Watch out for the third verse, where we add a reharmonisation and a descant just to catch you out!
This series is created thanks to generous support from The King's Singers Global Foundation. To find out more about the Foundation, whose mission is to bring wonderful music into more people's lives no matter their background, head to www.kingssinge... where you can also make a gift to support the work.

The third man from the right looks like a tudor king .. Great singing😃
Fabulous. Those voices blend together wonderfully.
Always loved the King's Singers. But this deserves special thumb up, as a beacon of light in the darkness of today.
Sorry I can't read music but my ears are working fine. Thank you so much, boys.
I play this to my two young kids every night before they sleep. They love it! Thanks
I sing myself to sleep with Forest Green!
Please do more of these sing a longs.. Wonderful to “sing” along with the best ensemble!
voci meravigliose che si accordano perfettamente le une con le altre .... una vera grazia potervi ascoltare !
Finally us alto 1s get to sing the tune!
FOREST GREEN is the best melody ever composed!
It's GORGEOUS and reverant at the same time...I felt Christmas Chills
I much prefer this tune to O littles town . . . I hope that you keep posting these sing along songs. During this long pandemic, it helps me feel less isolated to be able to join in. Thank you.
I agree, I don't like St Louis or Wengen. Forest Green should be the only tune for O Little Town Of Bethlehem! Not everything needs an alternate tune. "Boois" to St Louis (the tune, that is; the city doesn't mean anything to me one way or another.)! "Boois" to Wengen as well. Forest Green or bust!
This is such a great public service! Thanks for doing it. We learn so much from these sessions, and it is so much fun to try each part with all of you.
Very beautiful.
I love how you add the sheet music as it helps people to learn how to read music! Although this piece is quite basic, it does really help! Keep doing this! :)
Thank You For This Beautiful Gift Of Christmas Music

Lovely! I sang along with the low bass and enjoyed myself. Thanks for posting.
Thank you so much for this beautiful performance! This song is one of my favourite Christmas carols.
It's the best, along with Personent Hodie (the Holst arrangement).
They're all amazing, but the tenor is my favorite 😄
Perfect

I really love this arrangement 🎶♥️
sublime
Always a pleasure to sing along with you.
Odd for a NJB, a rabbi no less, to have a favourite Xmas carol, nevertheless I do, and it has to be this one. This is by far and away the most beautiful version I've come across.

This is beautiful and all, but ever since I've watched the nativity episode of the Goes Wrong Show, I can't help but bring myself to a chuckle whenever I hear this song.
Omg it's just AMAZING 😮✨
Beautiful... as always!!
More carols with sheet music please! There's only so many times I can watch this on repeat. In theory. 😉
Beautiful! I'll accompany you with my flute. :)
Ahhhhhh…. Lovely. Perfection.

Wonderfully uplifting.
Super

Angel voice🤩
I didn't know there was more than one tune to this! 😃
♥️
Who did the last verse? Was it Pat? It's great!
How about the other version??
💖...
The best version of this carol is by John Gardner, truly the most underrated and incredible British composer there is!
Sorry, but no, this tune is the best. Forest Green is #1!
Where can we find this arrangement?!!🥰
Where can one acquire the sheet music for this arrangement?
The tenor sings the Soprano section in 2nd verse?
2nd counter tenor
I can't even hum this song now, so embarrassed to think that I could sing...
Do you guys the music sheet
Americans: "That's not the tune!" 😁
Unless you were an American raised as an Episcopalian/Anglican!! This is the only tune I will accept, hahaha.
I prefer the American version but it's probably nostalgia. This arrangement is beautiful too and they sing it well.
Americans are always wrong. 😘😘😘😘😘
I loathe the American tune! Boo-is to St. Louis!!!
@@DisneyDancer1990 let's form a club called "Boo-is to St Louis!/Forest Green for the win!"
I don't understand those full notes at the end with the lines on each side. What does that mean?
King's Singer!? No, God's Singer.
0:15
Such careful enunciation. Like the quality of the neutral vowel in the word 'the'--not thuh nor thee, but the.
Where can i find this notes?
First
Wow! What a wonderful performance!
But also "wow" to the arrogance and misinformation of the comments implying the "American" version is somehow wrong or inferior.
Newsflash: O Little Town of Bethlehem was written by an American, Phillips Brooks, with music by his equally American colleague, Lewis Redner, a full 40 years before Vaughan Williams re-appropriated the text for his own tune, Forest Green, which is heard here.
30 seconds of Googling, or checking Wikipedia, or any Christmas carol or hymnary website would have provided this information.
Denigrating the Lewis Redner tune is akin to denigrating The Isley Brothers' version of "Twist and Shout" vs The Beatles' cover. Or, God forbid, the Rodney Dangerfield and Ferris Bueller versions a generation later. (Then again, even the Isleys' version was a cover.)
Newsflash: Forest Green is awesome and epic and terrifical. I loathe the American tune!!! St. Louis is Boo-is! Not all tunes need an alternate tune. Abolish all tunes for O Little Town Of Bethlehem except Forest Green!
Those faces sticking out of nowhere... No, no, no, they ruin the magic.
