The English church choir-school tradition, performing church ceremonies with new music every day, helps to achieve *outstanding* levels of sight-singing by the time the kids are even teenagers. I sang with two of these guys (! : )) at the Edington Church Music festival (knave choir) in Wiltshire in the mid-eighties, before they were members of the KSs. It was a baptism of fire for me - 30min plainsong rehearsals, then perform several pieces before a full congregation, while being broadcast live on BBC 3! And much of the rehearsal spent joking... (Always remembering the brilliant Peter McCrystal with intense admiration...)

Not necessarily....

Everyone here is misunderstanding what he means. He means that their pitch didn't drift at all, which is unfathomably difficult to do in a capella.
Its truly impressive. I wouldnt be surprised though if at least one of them has a perfect pitch which would make it a lot easier to stay in tune :D

This was brilliant! My reaction after watching this is just like the man's at the very end. Very impressive! :)
Oh. My. Goodness. Such talent. Amazing writing. Amazing singing.
Simply sublimely superb,
I just L-O-V-E Paul! He cann sing like a God. Seriously, I want my future husband to be similar. Love him.
This was beautiful the first time I heard it, funny the second time several years later, and now it's just sublime.
This was a very complete lineup. The bass especially is so powerful.
When Stephen Connolly waits until the end of the Bach fugue to drop that bass. And then that sweet resolution...

OMG! It is extraordinary how perfectly they collaborate..even though they make it to seem so easy!
8:40... my mind is going to blow. How much practice does THAT take?? please take note that their intonation at 8:49 is PERFECT. I am thoroughly envious on their skills (talent + practice)
This is the singersgroup i know of, and the best performers. Such great register and precision is amazing. It's truly sad that something this great has so few viewers.. This is true music!
