  • We've got a real mixed bag Down the Cellar today. If there's one thing we've learned over the years, it is that you are just as likely (and if you prefer more likely) to get trash as treasure in these boxes.
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to watch this new series (and the funnier trolls); Tom really loves doing these!
If you have a question, comment, complaint, or criticism, or would like to share (or sell) your collection, please feel free to write Tom at:

I’m new to your videos but have been collecting for 50 years. It all started with my grandfather who was a Major in the Luftwaffe gave me his medals when I was a kid. I’ve been hooked ever since!
Keep up the good work and keep them coming!

I can only speak for myself but I really enjoy watching your videos. Long, short it doesn't matter. Of course I prefer the long videos only because we get to see more items. Don't worry about how long it takes to unwrap the items either. Nobody is timing you and most of the time while you are unwrapping you are giving valuable advice or interesting information. Things that you might not have to give much thought to I find very interesting when you discuss how you came to your evaluation so quickly. You can't fake years of experience and you sir have that. You have definitely got a subscriber here for as long as you make videos for. Thank you for taking the time to make them and sharing your knowledge with us. I could just follow you around and listen all day to you discussing military items.

The panther head sword towards the end of the video with the artillery caisson etched no maker blade is a Richard Herder product. See Angola page 86 top left. The S.D. Marking on the SS NCO sword may stand for Schutzpolizei Düsseldorf and then there is that Ivory grip on that second model Luftwaffe dagger with etched blade! Just beautiful 🤩
The video reminds me of my favorite Clint Eastwood movie, The Good (Luftwaffe dagger with ivory grip, Herder
Panther head with engraved blade) The Bad and The Ugly.

While he is definitely an educated enthusiast, Tom is the first to admit that he is no expert on period silverware. Those sorts if things have to be vetted independently.
As for the values, I try not to discuss them here. Consignors and collectors often have WILDLY different ideas as to why things are worth, and I don't like fights breaking out.
