Hi, A nice Order of the Great Patriotic War 2nd Class at 29:42 (numbered on the backside, can be researched), the socialist competition pennant is a post-war probably 80s. Love your videos. Greetings from the other side of the pond.
Always following along and cheering on these videos!!! Thanks for all your efforts, as you inspire other collectors like myself to learn and grow with the knowledge you provide. All my best from Mexico City.
Mr. Whitman thank you very much I have had a terrible day at work and life in general but watching your videos made me smile been a long time subscriber and always will be thank you very much sir Luke
Two! Just two quick worries to share: 1) Start wearing gloves when handling this stuff. 2).Gotta start not cutting into those boxes. We will one day see it cut through something, besides the box, eventually.
The reason , that Jäger zu Pferd had metal versions of Helmet with point ( Helm mit Spitze, Pickelhaube was no official term), was that Jäger zu Pferd became in 1880s a new branch of german cavallry, the first troopers came from other branches, including cuirassiers or saxon heavy Reiter. In this decade german cavallry was transformed into ,Einheitskavallerie' standardized cavallry, you see this in the fact, that every trooper, not only Ulanen, got a lance. This means, the cavallry units kept their traditional names and uniforms, but weaponry and training became more similar. The mounted messengers never rode directly to trenches, this was done by men on foot, socalled Meldegänger, for example the Charlie Chaplin of Braunau.
I have always pleasure to watching this video unboxing ;-) With your Knowledge about this items and the History , Its always something to learn new. I was wondering, if you get my email about on selling some off my collection . I did sending you Pictures with the SS chain Dagger a NSKK Chain Dagger and others .

I wonder if all that SS stuff belonged to the same soldier
The Russian medal is the Order of the Great Patriotic War
What is the leather finger holder on the sword hilt for?
Your finger of course!
You sure that's not an SS cape, instead of a diplomatic one? Usually when the leading (top) feather of the eagle is shorter than the rest, that's SS.
Wouldn't the broken tip of the Imperial Saxon sword likely indicate that the owner fell in combat?
Probably a kid goofing around with it
Perhaps forced to surrender.
That's a nice video let me know when you get some more German tunics
#48 AMAZING! You guy's are the best hands down.
Damastahl isnt damascus steel. Its not folded steel its just etched plain blade. Pre WWII damascus swords had etched "Echt damast / damascener"
Great vid👍🏼 That SS chained dagger proves there are always premium items coming into the collector market.
Great content👍What is your drink Mr Wittman? North Sweden
I will answer on his behalf, Imperial whiskey and diet Pepsi.
