Absolutely loved this one. I really enjoy the commentary and the journey you take the audience on for these. Very cool theme and an awesome look on the finished product. Absolutely nailed it. Can't wait for the next one!
Great job! I to am a backyard smith. I have a garage and they tell me it is a lovely place. I should plan a visit sometime! All joking aside, great video and a beautiful knife!
Don’t throw it away from what I’ve seen it looks great I’d like to see you complete it I’m sure you’ll be glad you did not sure if I can afford any custom knife but than again I just might be able to
@@mattwatersbladesmith I'd experiment with it, I've tried it on a few different types of steels with different results on each. From what I've mucked around with so far, its better for making a pattern rather than a solid patina.
You got Matt Walters and Walter Sorells! lol hey first time seeing your videos with RUclips suggesting. Great build and finish. Do you have a place where you list your work? Best regards from your New York people.
Thank you so much! Haha cool seeing my name mentioned with Walter Sorrells, he's been on YT for a long time now! But yes, I have my work for sale on my website! Cheers from CO 🍻
Freaking awesome work!!! Watching from Brazil. When i do mostarda patina(I think it only works with steel), the only part that gets stained is the part where doesn't have mostard
Just curious; why do only certain folks pronounce "buoy" instead of "Bowie"? It rhymes with Joey everywhere else. That's how Rezin Bowie pronounced it. 🤔
Beautiful. The texturing and the guard on it are just gorgeous
I really like the Bowie design. There's just something so iconic about it
It’s a legit design for sure!
THATS A BEAST OF A BOWIE . THAT HANDLE IS WHAT REALLY MAKES IT. REALLY NICE KNIFE , WELL DONE .
Thank you!

Thank you!! I appreciate the feedback and encouragement :)
That came out great! Love the lines, and the handle. Really, all of it!
Thank you so much!
Beautiful knife!!!!!! Making knives myself love to learn from other Bladesmiths
Thank you! I have learned everything I know from other smiths
I myself am roughly halfway through my first ever Bowie knife build videos like yours are very helpful 👍👍
I'm glad they're helpful!
The finished knife is very nice! Great advise on the bowie profiles on clip and belly, will keep this in mind.
Thanks! Glad it helped!

Thank you! I've still got it laying around my shop table, maybe I'll turn it into another knife!
I've found with the mustard, the oxidizing/patina that forms is on the uncovered edge of where the mustard is applied.
Interesting…. I may try it again sometime. I totally smothered the pieces, no exposure at all. Maybe that was the problem 🤔

@@mboehm69 Thanks for the tips!

Bladesmiths don’t make mistakes, just smaller knives. I say don’t chop the bad one but transform it into something else.
Right on!! Thanks!

Thank you! That's good to know. I have only ever seen it here and there online, but had never tried it myself.
awesome knife!
Thanks!
Does the antler smell funky when you sand it down?
@@ladyspearmint it’s smells horrible lol
Just like 15N20 the nickel silver won't etch. Cold blue will give it a bluish black colour

Haha that is interesting, I’m sure I pronounce it completely incorrectly.
Nice Booie knife.
Thanks!
