The best part of the chicken joke was that he referred back to it several times after moving on. He was really shocked. Lol.
He really was. I'm sure that chicken will not be the last booby prize we are sent!
The chicken joke was worth every penny!
Did someone send a priceless dagger and it got stolen and replaced with a chicken?
Absolutely! ;)
Why would someone spend $50+ dollars to send a gag gift when you can do the same for $5 bucks? As my thinking leads me, I don’t believe that was the original item sent in the box. A problem with heavily insuring an item is it allows postal inspectors the right to look inside the package to see if the item is worth what it is heavily insured for. Like any business or operation, this is a bright star for thieves.
That is the very rare Christmas Honor SS Chicken seldomly seen with optional quacker inside.
I can’t tell you how this video made my day. Had a terrible day at work, come home and here’s Tom with another Cellar Series video. Perfect. These are great. I’ll tell you one thing, it has made me aware of many items I ordinarily wouldn’t have thought of. I go on your site all the time, but mostly looking for specific things. These videos have opened my eyes a lot more. Thank you Mr Wittman. Please keep the series going and the drink and cigar. Cheers
Cheers, JB.

Aaand here's another one who's got a bad day over here in germany and is really cheered up from this video. The least annoying thing happened to me today is a tooth broken off. We're all living with Tom and it's a little christmas for all of us watching. Never stop making these, please :)
you bring history to life, thank you!
Cigar and a drink, starts well and gets better. Great stuff!
This channel is a classic!!!!
What an entertaining hour of fun Tom, as usual. I think we all light up when we see a new film from you.
The SS tunic looked great...look like original post 42 tabs to me on an early M28 style tunic. The Feldherrenhalle Degen was a delight....I had to laugh...your previous video guest with his lovely collection of tagged Degen. ...when you said to him the bag even says Degen, and the guy said what's that mean? You kinda shot him a sideways glance and said..well ...its German for dagger....lol!!
I thought the tunic looked good too, but I am sure it will be savaged for the inconsistency. As for the Feldherrnhalle... there was no way we could resist showing that. It's been quite a few years since one has visited!
some great stuff there tom
I could watch one of these every day of the week
I love watching these. Best militaria channel on RUclips.
Keep these on boxings coming. They are pure gold
Thanks Tom for shareing the unboxing we love it.God Bless
I thought the chicken prank was fun. It showed you truly don't know what's in the packages, and also added a little humor to the unboxing.
All the bad items appeared after you set your cigar down, just kidding, great videos as always. Cheers!
Amazing. Mr. Wittman thank you and the chicken? Awesome as well. You invoke such a level of emotion in others thru your unique job, your passion, dedication to the craft and above all else, your expertise in the field .... that you compel them ( some ) to spend $54 dollars on you. That's nothing to be embarrassed about. Do you know what friends do? We give them gag gifts. Such a great show you have here. Thank you for taking us along on this journey.
Wonderful unboxing the Army dagger with etch was awesome! Love the videos and keep them up

Oh yeah! An unboxing video!!! I love it! I love the cellar!!!
Thanks Tom the video's and information just keeps on getting better,
That rubber chicken reminds me of the Soupy Sales show that was on TV during the 1960’s! Some of Soupy’s one liners where classics! 😉
Great video. Thanks for showing and info on that Feldherrnhalle dagger.
Thank you, Mr. Klug. It's not every day when one of those daggers comes in, so we had to let everyone see it.
Great show tom thanks for the info at the end. Quack, Quack.
Love the chicken. If you can’t laugh at yourself you can’t laugh at nobody.
Love this type of stuff, thank you all so much for everything you do for the hobby.
that Felderrnhalle !!!! WOW !!! thanks for sharing that dagger !!! WOW !!!!
I love the chicken!!! It made me laugh.
Always Enjoy Your Unboxing Videos
Thanks Mr. Wittmann
You do such a great job ! Keep it up 👍
I am hooked on these cellar video's now!!! thanks!
Wow a rubber chicken to one of the rarest daggers made🤣🥃🇦🇺Thanks gents.
Was looking forward to this one. Awesome as always😎👍🏼 It’s the unknown that’s the hook and it’s great!
Such a great video ! And long video ! Thank you so much for the quality content !! I enjoy this very much !
Great unboxing! I think it's time for me to buy something new for the collection again.
I always pause my projects to watch these unboxings. Great information, and variety, as usual. Hopeful to see you at the MAX show. Thank you for sharing with us. Have a great day men.
As always, thank you Mr. Stoup.
I have a question...is the MAX show the "Military Antiques Extravaganza"? The one that's Sept 15-16 in York Pa??? I'd really like to go but Im not sure if that's what you guys are talking about. Thanks.
@@adamvonalbrecht6314 Yes, that is the MAX. It used to be in Monroeville, PA (just outside Pittsburg) but has since moved to York.
@@WittmannAntiqueMilitaria Thank you..I'll be there..hope to see you.
@@aaronstoup Thanks
Great 👍 love ❤️ the channel 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you for sharing another one of your treasures.
I finally figured out the chicken joke! At first I just thought it was a bit of randomly brilliant pranking, but in the very first minute of DTC #5, Tom says "it could just be a dead chicken"... I reckon that inspired it :P So - In the next video may I suggest you say "It could just be the Goring wedding sword" ;-)
Fantastic video mr Whitmann.
Kevin
The chicken was probably from a friend that owed you one!
I love your videos and your expertise and honest opinion about all the items. I sometimes feel like being there with you, having a great time together. :)
Thankyou for these videos. I find them to be the best yet. I appreciate the learning tips such as dagger knots. Can you show us how to apply a navy dagger troddel if possible. Regards JT
wow Tom what a great items delivery other than the navy dagger. you must be something special to get a ss rubber chicken from someone. i loved the video, fantastic items. im sure you will be writing checks. fab stuff and thank you so much for posting so we can see. look forward to the next video. im going to try those cigars. thank you Larry
Thank you very much, Mr. Burwell.
Yeah, Monday not so blue now!
It's always fun to see what is unboxed. I'm not too read up on militaria, but the condition of some of these items all these years later is astonishing. I was also pleased to see an East German item a few episodes ago, I find the helmet design of that area really...bizarre.
You left the best till last. Can i still move in .wwg1wga love from the United kingdom
Epic viewing once again. Me and my wife were watching last night in bed here in Scotland and when the chicken appeared we nearly fell out of bed laughing, unforgettable. Looking forward to the next one.
Thank you so much! I'm thinking of making the chicken the co-host.
If anyone in the comments is into metal detecting and amazing hiking footage, please make sure to check out Sidlawman Outdoors.
Brilliant! Love the chicken!
In Canada they only have Boxing Day once a year but Haus Wittmann has UNboxing day the whole year around. Let the joy be unrefined! 👍😎 BTW, I DO have an observation re: the $54 chicken that I will share with you another time as it's a tad too ribald for your video. 😁
Mr Wittmann, the 2nd pattern Luft dagger you show at approx. the 13:00 mark has a dedication on the top edge of the scabbard between the hanger rings! If it’s interesting, please let us know! Great video! Thank you sir!
Good eye! Tom had no clue it was there. It reads, "Hermann Weisse", who was presumably the original owner of the piece.
@@WittmannAntiqueMilitaria Nice! Sounds like a fairly common name that will bw hard to research. Still a nice personalization to have on a dagger though.
A chicken 🤣🤣 That’s priceless. What I can’t believe is they spent 54 bucks
Interesting last name: Himmelfreund. First name is unusual too: Pointner. Obviously a grenadier. Might even be possible to find out more about him with such an unusual name. Keep up these lectures, unboxing videos. Great job Mr. Wittmann!
P.S.
I even liked the chicken!
Himmelfreundpointner is the entire last name. Gotta be some kind of record for the longest German surname. Hahahahaha!
Tom your as valuable a treasure as those that we all love to collect.
So interesting and informative 👍
Excellent
Thank you, Mr. McLean.
That feltherrnhalle dargger separating was awsome to see, never seen before, cheesrs Tom, u can say hello from me from Finland im Janne ...talk u e mail many times
First time I checked this channel and I subbed right away.
What's the name of the manufacturer of the first sword? Krebs?
Thanks
Great video and very informative as always Mr Wittmann. BTW, I was looking for your address on Google Maps Street View and couldn't believe it when I saw you sitting on your porch!
cheers Mr.Wittmann
Love your unboxing videos!!!!! You need to show more buckles... ;-) Greetings from upper AUSTRIA
Thank you very much, Herr Mühlleitner. Buckles show up quite often, so stay tuned.
Your quite an old bird, thanks for sharing your knowledge, I get a kick out of you and the stuff.
Thank you, Mr. Lattimer.
that was himmler's chicken
A delightful video as always👏. If i may, i say that the second brocade belt, that you identify as an army one, is to me a police one with an army buckle and unidentify loops. If is it for sale i'm intrested in that belt.
It is for sale. You might send Tom an email, which is listed above.
WOW JUST WOW
What is your favorite drink? I always see you sipping on what looks like an OLD FASHIONED.
so disappointed that first parcel wasn't a giant Toblerone
Those damn cigars killed Rush Limbaugh!
You’ve got to tell us what’s in the drink
Snips and snails and puppy’s dogs tails….and a little chafafa on the side!
Hey Tom, what is your libation of choice? Love the unboxings!
watch out for them crazy rubber chickens.
Great video , what Is your tipple Mr wittman
Dear Tom - thank you for posting these fantastic videos. I’m intrigued as to what you do with the pieces? Are they to appraise or are they for you to purchase for the business? Ps what is it you are drinking . Lol. 😀
Quality video
Guten abend Herr collector🖐️👍
That chicken was a rare Gewerkschaft der Geflügelarbeiter Gummihuhn Model 1937.
I love how you just have a shrigma male poster in the background
Hi , Super !
Really Nice Things, WOW You a Lucky Guy to have all this Things. Thanx. ;0)) Grüßle
Nice “Rubber Chicken” Tom what do you value it at 😂🤣
That chicken is a priceless Luftwaffe prototype.
@@WittmannAntiqueMilitaria Messerschmitt Me 262 Chicken
Legendary!!
it was ss clock clock chicken by puma....super rare
Wieder mal Grüße aus Leipzig ich sehe ihre Videos sehr gerne obwohl ich englisch nicht verstehe 👍👍👍
Vielen Dank, Herr Hartmann!
Would love to know the verdict on the SS tunic. That ss cape eagle, I’m confident wasn’t real. The tag especially
I like that uniform
I thought the post-war Horster Navy daggers used the open trademark without the double oval and were much larger?
The zFellenhaur daggers; we’re they presented to the soldier who guarded the monument?
Is that the rare SA Christmas Honor Chicken? I heard Rohm’s and his “boys” liked to pull each other’s chicken.
AT min. 30 I believe the senders adress will be in the envelope glued on the box!?
its an addiction with Tom.
Nice video I like watching your video
We are always glad to see you here, Michael.
@@WittmannAntiqueMilitaria thanks
@@WittmannAntiqueMilitaria I need to start going to the shows that have German world war II stuff and Japanese war two stuff
Hello, What is said on the cloth item at 1:07:30 is "Unserer treuen Kampfgefährten, ein letztes, Heil Hitler" Roughly means, Our faithful (or true) comrades in arms, one last, Heil Hitler. So it could have been from a funeral sash or like a monument to a lot of people or something like that. Have a nice day.
Whats the motto on the SS daggers blade, in english
Are these items sent with a pre-determined price or do the people have to be contacted and then the price is established?
Scary watching your cigar when you were handling that tunic.
Some consignors absolutely have a figure in mind when they send things, often quite a bit too high. Other people have no clue and are looking for a valuation.
What exactly is that mushroom man picture in the background? Is there any history to it? Maybe you can say that in the next DTC episode
He's just a fun guy.
i really would and sure others would to to hear prices, but im sure thats not going to happen for many reasons
@46 minutes in - those are the post-war reproduction daggers, from Kohl's. LOL!
Excellent video get with it Tom that rubber chicken is a Svengoolie chicken you can watch his TV show Saturday nights on Me-TV he's a horror host a Chicago icon I grew up with him.....👺
