Great video Tom!! You mentioned the flattened ball on the bottom of alot of SA daggers. They didn't get there by dropping them, etc. The got there by banging them on the tables in beer halls to let the servers know their steins were empty and needed refilling. Additionally, a person interested in this history has to understand these sa guys were thugs, street brawlers that banged heads with the communists and anyone opposed to Hitler. At night they would gather in the local beer hall. Most of them were right handed which freed up their left. Well if you notice, their daggers were all worn on their left! They would not wait till their steins were empty so with their left hand they would unhook their dagger and bang them on the tables to get the beer maids attention. Now when you find a dagger with a flattened ball, buy it! Also Rohm, their leader got those facial scars from dueling. Watch the 1972 movie "Cabaret" and it will give you a good insight how they operated.

@@Amarikita The short answer to your question is I was told the story by a person who lived over there during those times at a local gun show back in mid and late 60's. Thank you for your interest and question.

In your first video on the same subject you clearly stated that the scabbards were not anodized but rather finished in the same manner as "bluing" ( because they are not aluminum ). Yet, in this newer video you refer to the finish as being anodized.
Can you confirm which one is correct ?
