Good quality video. When making drag passes looking for overflow you need to put much more weight on the snow than the cub was. Go flaps up about 2000 rpms and stick forward with a high tail. Put as much weight on the skis as you can. I also like to make some s turns, slush will
accumulate at the back of the skis and can be observed after takeoff. Keep up the good work!

Hey Jon, loved the video! It was really awesome to meet you and hope we'll run into each other again some day. It's pretty hard to go ski flying in Florida but it is really cool to learn the different procedures and factors that you have to take into account while ski flying.

I was wondering about the runup checks on skis too?
Same as floats. While you slide along. Just make it quick
Often times with a good amount of snow you'll be taxiing at 1,700-2,000rpm so doing a rolling run up becomes a simple task
@@fly8ma.comflighttraining199 Heck, half the time I can do a runup still frozen down at my spot then just add in more power, waggle the rudder with the tail up to break free and off you go.
