    the good ol' days! Richie Anderson was my favourite bmx'r of all time! Met him once, and he even let me ride his bike! (Indiana - 35 years ago or so). Awesome!!! Super nice guy, Thanks Richie!!

    I raced Richie in like 1980 or so in Champaign Illinois and the race got canceled due to rain. Patterson boys were there too

    Wow. Extremely short track. Start to finish was about 23 seconds for R. A.
    I felt for the Novice guy. Looks like he hit the gate and was several bike lengths behind by the first jump. (That would have been me too in this race. Lol.)

    Bad Luck Mike. Went too Wide. The Avalanche had a knack of taking other riders in front him from the inside which is a skill.

    That track sucked so badly. Arrived late. Wasn't able to get in any practice sessions. First race was first time on the track. Finished 4th. Didn't advance. Went home. Lost ABA Sanction after that. Racing was pretty much done in Las Vegas after that.

    I was here, standing at the first berm...didn't make my 17ex main...one of another of Renny Roker's horrible tracks. It was so dusty at this race...

      It's like the actual race track design/construction was the last priority for Renny Roker Productions. And NEVER let Renny near a microphone for live race commentary!

      If I remember correctly, this race was run by the ABA, and they also built the track.

    • @woodystorey
      @woodystorey Год назад +1

      @@anthonys.6038the ABA did build the track, the building the race was in was the Tropicana Indoor Tennis Courts, so they didn’t have a whole lot of room to begin with…

      @@woodystorey I was also at this race. The track sucked and all the dust in that place was horrendous, but the overall experience for a 14 year old kid was amazing.

    So who's no.1 😂

    Trucks should be designed to make it easy to pass. The leader should have the disadvantage. The rider should hole shots should be easy to pass. It's boring watching a race where nobody can pass. This track had very little passing opportunities.

  • @patcoston
    @patcoston Месяц назад

    This track was way too short. I always through BMX tracks should be about a half mile in length. Riders with better endurance should be able to pass on the straights near the end.

    Farside decided to go wide and push them off the berm, allowing Anderson to swoop on the inside. Anderson was 2nd to last right behind the novice guy who hit the gate.

    Richie Anderson. He accomplished more than anyone did as an Expert. But unfortunately the fact is that he was too fast for EXPERT but too slow to compete as a PRO.

  • @patcoston

    Chanady could not pass the novice who was tied for 2nd with Farside coming out of the first turn.

      It was the trophy dash race which included the winners from expert, novice, and open classes for age 15 and over. Richie won his 15 expert class to qualify.

      845 could have won if everyone crashed. That would have been awesome! It's funny that they have all #1 plates except for the one novice guy.
