Mani was asked to play the bass guitar for the Who in 1987. Mani turned them down saying famously, "I only ever wanted to play the bass for the stone roses and primal scream".
Roses had the potential to be the next Stones and Beatles rolled into one. But putting such a HEAVY Contract on them when they were so young (no pun intended ) equates a headfuck of pressure on the young talented guys.
Watching Gareth Evans is like watching David Brent. I reckon Gervais must have watched this documentary and come up with the idea for The Office!
Doubt it, since The Office came out in 2001 and this came out in 2004.
Andy Couzens was the only guy in this documentary with an ounce of sense. and he was booted early on.
Wow. This doc should be mandatory viewing for any band just starting out. Thanks for posting!
gareth evans is the david brent of the music industry.
One of the good bits of this documentary is the early footage of the roses from 1985. Bloody rare stuff. Around the time of ‘ so young/tell me ‘.

What in God's name possessed them to sign up with that supreme conartist?
geelad6969 martin hannet produced some stone roses songs as well as the garage flower album.
Shock: No comments from any of the Roses! Believe what you will.
It's amusing to hear Gallagher say "I could write songs like that". Why didn't he then? Did he consciously choose to write rubbish?
This is still funniest thing ever made, Spinal Tap on acid!
"I sell underpants I CAN SELL THESE !"" Is that for fuckin real ?!?!?! too funny
"Showed my knickers" 😂
Part 1????
He wanted to manage us! We tried it but shoved him off! Bizarre guy, some funny stories though! Can see why The Stone Roses fell out with him.
The audio is out of sync.
Is this guy for real? He seems like an actor he's that bad.
