    Hi. I'd like to install the camera quite far away from my house where connecting directly to the homebase is not possible. There is however both wifi signal and power at the location where it will be installed. Would it still be possible to connect the camera / floodlight to the homebase via the standard wifi signal? I'd like to take advantage of the additional storage that the homebase provides, and having the homebase siren go off, in my house, if human motion is detected.

      You could always try connecting to WiFi first and then switching it to Homebase, but if it’s out of range then you’ll end up with connectivity issues so I would test before mounting and spending time to set it up fully.
      The Homebase does still use a WiFi signal but not sure whether it’s 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz which will impact the range.

    I have two questions;
    1- during the 24/7 mode, will the light be on all night? Will it record cold or B&W at night?
    2- does the camera support SMTP? I want use it in “Home Assistant “ using “SCRYPTED”

      1- the light is set differently to the recording, you can set all these things independently depending on what you would like.
      2- on other eufy products it has an option for Nas storage but as this links to the Homebase it only shows local or cloud so I don’t imagine that would work.
      I did try linking these via home bridge to HomeKit but this is one of the products that isn’t updated yet so whilst it shows up it doesn’t present it as a camera or light. Maybe if the home bridge plugin is update it may work at some point in the future but not right now.

    Hello . Had this installed for a month . During the day it’s very very sensitive to every passing car even when I adjusted down sensitivity and set up activity zones . After dark it’s tracking and lights up when motion detected but doesn’t record anything . Can you please help ? I have a ticket to eufy and still waiting

      If you have it linked to a Homebase 3 then I would suggest trying to manually update that or getting eufy to trigger a firmware update from their end using the serial numbers (they can don to at as they did it for me).
      Beyond that there’s too many variables for me to diagnose so I suggest working with eufy to see if it can be rectified.
      Also try changing your night vision modes colour/b&w/off and see if any of them fix the recording issue for you.

    I have a dumb question for anybody who currently owns this. I wanted to replace the light above my garage with this security camera to monitor the front of my home. Currently I have to activate the light inside my home via a switch for the light to go on. If I replace that light with this security camera, does the switch have to be on full time for the camera to be powered or is the wiring sufficient to run the camera full time without the need to switch it on? I believe there are 2 lights (1 on my porch and 1 on my garage) which turn on when the switch is activated (front yard lights). How does this work?

      Yes, the switch has to remain on.
      Easiest way is change the switch inside to a double rocker snd have the floodlight permanently on.
      You can then set the floodlight to automatically come on at certain times of the day and also make use of a night light if you choose to do so.

      @@MATechRUclips so for the camera to work the switch must be on, or for the flood lights? sorry my question may not have been too clear, i'm a noob. If the switch must be on for the camera to work, i might as well just take out the bulb on my porch and keep it on all the time

      The power has to remain on all the time to the camera.
      A dodgy way of doing it would be to wire the camera directly without the switch, but correct way would be use a double rocker switch so you can leave the floodlight camera always having power and then use the other switch for your other light.
