- This is my review of the eufy EufyCAm 2 Pro 2K wireless security camera kit. This is my long term review - I've been using the eufycam 2 pro security cameras for over 4 months: amzn.to/3hMdfSs (affiliate link)
The eufycam 2 pro battery life is excellent. It is advertised at 180 days of battery life. The eufycam 2 pro works as an HD security camera or 2K security camera for high resolution recording. The battery life is longer depending on how you set it up. For example, I’m at home all day so I don’t have cameras detecting motion during day, unless I go out. My 4 cameras have been in place 6 months and still have 75% battering life.

Got the wireless doorbell for Christmas and was thinking about grabbing their cameras now as I really like it and the app, previously had an Arlo and was completely disappointed with it ( the app, the battery life and response times are all terrible). They are great, i have got indoor as well, using then 4 months couldn't be more happy. App is clear and easy to use. Range of Base is very good, working like good booster. Quality perfect, long life battery...recommend

Eufy makes great security Cameras! - I bought the flood light cam and Love it! Eufy has a lot of great features and decent resolution and Quality video and night vision - Motion detection and easy to use app - Easy set up and not one issue so far! Going on 6 months - I'm buying another Eufy product very soon!
Is the recording free? Can you also assemble a monitor for the camaras?

Great video. It would have been nice though to see a technical comparison between Arlo and Eufy, for example. Also, the HomeKit Secure Video integration and what that can do you for would have been a nice touch.

@@TechOdyssey I thought you'd like to know, i got the eufy 4 cam pack. I'm still running my Arlo Pro 2s and I've run the eufy for the last few days and in summary i'm not happy with them. I've tried them with the default out of the box setup. The audio is shocking, i can stand 4-8 feet in front of the camera and it will not capture audio, there's lots of static noise, and the video stream is "staggered". I've also mounted it side-by-side to my arlo's and they Alro picks things up that Eufy does not. I've done all the firmware updates and its still poor. Sometimes it captures motion and sometime it does not. I'm going to keep eufy going for a few more weeks to see if the AI learns but if it does not improve, then i'll be returning the unit. I'm not sure if this is a faulty unit/set of something. Anyway, thought i'd leave you my feedback.

They work perfectly! With 3 of these cameras I can see every corner of the yard, and they were very easy to set up. The best part is I only get the footage I want to see, not hours of videos of the bird feeder swaying in the breeze.

Thank you for the info. Can you hook this up to your TV to monitor? My wife and I are elderly and not tech savy and would prefer to look at a large screen vs. a phone if we hear noises we can't identify.

Hello, first of all thx for the review learned a lot from it. Second is this usable for inhome on standby mode with detection off? So that you can look at the cameras when needed and else it goes back to standby ?

Range is better than the Arlo 2 that I have. Their range is shoddy. I have mine probably 40 feet away through brick and multiple walls and it works just fine.
Arlo is much better than these cameras, I have installed 6 of Eufy Cameras and 3 of cameras keeps on disconnecting cause its on the 1st Flr of my house. Where ever you place the camera it should be closer to Base Station. Biggest flaw
How good is the night vision? Do you have to have a light source to help the night vision or can it be in complete darkness and still capture a clear picture ?
Does this camera record audio, such as car engines, conversation, music etc? And if so, how good is the audio quality?
Good review. I was thinking of getting 2c 4cam, but this 2 pro sounds better. I'm looking to add 4 to more cams, no service plan, total wireless, and able to view video alerts on my t.v. if possible without getting out of bed. If u know a system, I'm all ears. (As in looking thru app and phone as a "monitor" to see out in my driveway? ) We just did a big Reno, and can no longer see who is in my driveway from our living room, and want this so I can monitor who is actually at our house . Yes you can. You can access and watch the live feed in any camera you want at any time as long as you have a connection to the internet

You can download the footage from phone app to your phone. From your phone you can send anywhere. Comes with a usb cable.

I am thinking about buying these cameras, but more as a deterrent for robbers than anything else. So I wanted to know 2 things: 1) how does a camera warn you that there is someone in your area (does it send a message to the app with a photo, and can it sent the warnings to multiple phones simultaneously?) and 2) how does the sound alarm work, I mean, can you regulate it to activate by any movement detection, can you set it on yourself through the app, can you also disable it through the app when it goes off?

Good review. Tomorrow, I'm getting the non Pro version with original Home Base. Since I didn't need Home Kit, I can take advantage of the expandable storage (SD card) and the built-in battery backup. I also added the 2K Battery Doorbell. This will be replacing the outdated Samsung Wisenet A1 and D1 setup.
How is the non Pro eufy cam 2 working out for you ? I'm debating b/w the Pro and Non pro .

I realize that almost a year has past since you made this review, but in case you are still monitoring questions, I have one. If I don’t have a subscription to a cloud service and choose to use the hub for video storage, can I still get alerts and see videos when I am away from home? If so, how does that work?

Hi, i bought eufycam a week ago. Already installed it. And it works fine.the only problem is I haven't received any notification and video record on my phone. When I or anyone move around on the camera. I checked all the settings too.I set even the "AWAY" mode but atill, no notification, no camera record, no alarm.

Yes it has a wired only one and it's cheaper. I think it will ring it but I'm not sure because I don't have bam existing chime. I know the two wires power it but I can't guarantee it rings the bell.
@@TechOdyssey - Thank you for the reply! One more question about the Eufy doorbell. Is the storage on a separate device you keep indoors, or is it actually stored on the doorbell itself? If it’s just on the doorbell and it gets stolen, your videos are gone plus the person who actually stole the doorbell.

Would this be a good system to be able to see you dogs in the backyard? Does it only stay on for so long or does it have continuous play?
What about installing the cams indoors?
Do these include a spotlight on them? I think that's a must because 99% of the time that will deter unwanted subjects.
Great video, how far away can the camera be from the box if it's not obstructed by alot of walls ?
10 meters = very good connection
20 meters = barely connected
That's why they have sub home bases you can buy so you have one at the front area inside for front cameras and one for the back cameras

Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's still working great for me. No you can't expand the storage but you can connect it to network storage for storage, like a NAS. Also yes you can stream continuously on the app.

What’s the motion detection range of these cameras? One of mine may be 10m from a back door & 15m from a gate & I’m not sure if I should plan to mount it closer.
Also, those of us with iPhones will be paying for the 2K functionality but unable to utilise it correct, since 1080p is the maximum supported resolution? But is this only within the HomeKit App? Will we still have 2K footage within the Eufy App?

Thankyou for the great review. I purchased eufy 2pro cameras (2) and 2pro basestation as well as 2 eufy 2 cams after watching your detailed review. What impressed was that you have had it since last August and that was big factor for purchasing. Installed about a month (20 days) back. Picture quality is crisp. However, human motion detection recording is INCONSISTENT. I am having to pull down and reboot/ reconfigure with the base station. Also the unit boasts about it working at temps as low as -20c. Sorry, we had -8c, and it didn't record. I can still see what's going on remotely but human motion isn't triggering the camera to record even though it is set for human detection along with high sensitivity to movements. I have reached out to eufy customer service in China but it's a back and forth with no real constructive solution. For me this is a disappointment.

@@sfjimbo19stx38 Not a personal problem but a eufy personnel problem in terms of constructive response. The cameras are crisp and great but will not function at - (minus) temps. The cams triggers motions so I am content overall except it's operation below -8c temps.
@@geneponniah3007 Damn just bought the set 3 cams and base and located in Finland so we have low Celcius here -30 can easily happen, but in average winter in southern parts -5 to -20 range....have to see how these work. Maybe burglars are not either out when it gets that cold ha haa ;) ....

I've already got a hub when it came with my doorbell. If I have these cameras do I have have an additional Hub?
Can I download the three months worth of stored videos onto a separate portable 5TB hard drive so that instead of them getting looped over I still have those videos ? And then every three months it will basically start off fresh with new storage
Great video--I have 2 questions, will the Eufy accommodate both an apple phone and an android. My wife has an apple phone and I have an android. #2, for the interior cameras can you turn them off when you are home so you don't run down the battery quickly? Thanks😀
You can use it with Android and apple, yes. If I'm understanding your question correctly. As far as being inside, you can't really "turn them off" but you can have them in standby mode and not recording. For 30 min, am hour, 2 hours, up to 12 hours. And you just turn off motion detection all together for longer periods of time.

Up to 3 months of recordings? Does that mean it's constantly recording or only when it gets triggered? Surely it's not 3 months in that case, it's completely dependant on the number of triggers it gets and the length of recording you've set? I'd like a camera to point out at the cars, but they're on the road so will get triggered A LOT.
How long after the push notification to view time?
Can you use Huawei 4G cellular routers (5hz) frequency or is it locked into 2.4hz frequency like ezviz. Do you have to have constant wifi? My ezviz NVR wireless husky airs has a dvr base that works off a monitor, closed wifi system, it has its own wifi , so if internet goes down, You can still see cameras via your DVR base? The ezviz usese wited power but video is wifi...
I have the wireless Wi-Fi Arlo Pro 4 2K spotlight camera. I bought the Arlo base station only to find out that I can't access my saved videos from my smartphone.
I wasn't going to pay over $10.00 month for cloud service.
Also, unless the camera is close to a person at night, the spotlight is not much good on night vision. It is even worse in colour mode with the spotlight at night.
I do like it during the day, and that I have the option to plug the camera into an outlet so that I don't have climb up the ladder monthly to charge the battery.
Other than that, I hate the system if I can't view my videos on my smartphone from my base station

How far can you place the camera from the home base unit and still get footage?
Like if your storage house (with no Internet connection) is about 100 meters from where you live.
And would wifi extention unit allows additional distance between camera and home base unit in this case?
Would the indoor solo camera be seen in the same app as this kit?
How long does it take to fully charge the battery ?
