I followed your channel few years ago then lost you. I admire your ideology of put putting Earth first, planting of trees, pushing for wind powered ships developing a sustainable community. I would love to see this project being completed and objectives being realized. Keep on pushing!
Like others, I was following this project. Have searched but found nothing new. Don't understand why you are posting this now. As said elsewhere, its old news
@ Northwest Maritime : this is all very puzzling ?? historical footage of Ceiba , yet I haven't seen a new video from Sail Cargo in ?? more than a year ?? perhaps , and Ms Danielle had stepped down as the CEO of the company even before that , yet here she is . Viewers are going to be curious as to what your connection to the whole thing is ??
This video was created in 2020 as a part of the 2020 Virtual Wooden Boat Festival and not widely published. Despite the project's recent slowdown the story is still inspiring and we thought worth sharing!
@@mathyeti Probably learned from the Vega experiment that even with half of the crew consisting of paying volunteers , wooden boats are really not viable as cargo vessels in today's world.
@@daniel_charms I was following the project back then. The pandemic hit and coincided with the increased capital requirements of fit out. “Viability” is not well defined when global shipping flops from so cheap we ship our garbage, to so expensive supply chains lock up. All the while shipping continues to evade environmental and geopolitical mandates.
Plainly you are not going to launch in 2021. So what? This is a whimsical project meant to light up your imagination. If it doesn't make a profit, again , so what? It is a unique project and I am sure that most investors weren't too worried about the return. Keep going, ignore the detractors and follow your dream.

Delusions of grandeur! Launch in 2021? It's now almost 2025 and we haven't seen a video for about a year, and in that last video you hadn't started on exterior planking yet. You'll be lucky to get this in the water in another decade. This is not a sustainable business model and you're lying to yourselves, the public and your investors.

Can't wait 2021

She literally makes a forward looking statement about a launch in 2021, so it's canned / stolen for sure
@@PublicRecordsGeek As the lable says "Originally created for the 2020 Virtual Wooden Boat Festival.”

Since no one else is saying it….. that is AMAZING!!! So what if they needed to pause to raise more funds, they likely could use the break, no?
What transpired between 2021 - present? What about the other ship that was biught and repaired? Where did everyone go?
Congratulations. But 2021?
At the end of 2021? boi....

I’ve not seen hide nor hair of Cieba or sailcargo in almost a year. Always seemed an interesting if optimistic idea but they just ghosted the world.
Mary Celeste.....everyone disappeared. What's actually happening? Is she rotting away abandoned?
