Hey everyone. This weeks video is another selection of some Country Chicken Pickin guitar licks. Quite a few of you liked the fake steel guitar lick from the last video so I've included 2 this time. Also trying out my new camera on this one. Turned out pretty sweet I think. May need to invest in some sort of lighting rig for my room as you can see it getting darker and darker as the day went on haha! Anyways, hope you enjoy. Im an old picker that quit pickin for over 20 years but I still love music more than I ever did. Now my hands are too stiff for flat top and Im ready to get the old Tele back out. Thanks for the licks. May get to tryin it again

Thanks. I'm not, I'm using a Line 6 HX Stomp using a Deluxe Reverb Amp models with some IRs!

Hey Dermot. Gigs were wiped out essentially for the guts of a year and a half, and with the new restrictions incoming I wouldn't imagine they'll be returning any time soon. Not in amy real way anyways. Disaster
This is my pedal chain currently.
Tuner-Ego Comp-RC Booster-Dual Fusion-HX Stomp
The RC and Comp are always on, and the Dual Fusion is only recently back on my board, but haven't used it in any videos just yet.
@@MarkVaughanGuitar I get ya. Looking at the HX stomp or the Boss GT1000 myself just to save carrying an amp around. Not much room for amps in the pubs I gig in I'm afraid. New restrictions are gonna screw bands around again and considering it's their livelihood is crazy. So many guys I know in bands, big on the Irish Country music scene life completely changed.
Yeah its a total disaster. Thankfully i was able to keep teaching throughout so ive been lucky.
Heard good things about the BOSS units too. Great pieces of kit. I must add I'm using IRs with my stomp also, which I do feel are better than the stock cabinets.
@@MarkVaughanGuitar Boss multi effects have gotten better over the last few years. I have a pedal board but looking for something more compact but don't want to compromise on tone. Not really into metal, heavy humbucker type stuff. If I can get a Brent Mason/Vince Gill type tone I'm happy.
I'd well imagine both units will be more than capable of that sort of tone. Brent didn't even use an amp on a lot of the Alan Jackson stuff, so there's hope for us yet haha
Hey man love your videos, I was just wondering what exact model of guitar that is, I know that it’s a fender but it is American made?
Hey Merlin. No it's a Fender Roadworn Telecaster made in 2010. New pickups which are Deacci Pickups made here in northern ireland. Upgraded the bridge to compensated brass saddles and refretted with Jescar Gold fret wire. One of the nicest teles I've ever played and blows most American models out of the water.
@@MarkVaughanGuitar I was wondering why it sounded so good! If I was to get the same setup, how much do you think it would cost ?
Hard to say. Pickups would probably be 200 dollars, then the refret would be another 200. Not sure how much the saddles are as the luthier installed them for me and gave me a price for labour. Fairly sure they were installed at the same time as the refret

I'll certainly consider that for another video, Kristoffa. I never really think too much about what fingers I use. Whatever feels comfortable and most logical usually
