  • Everyone likes a clean car, right? What's the first thing that takes away the freshly washed and meticulously dried shine??? DUST.... wretched dust. In this video, I test out some products and try to find one that helps with this problem.

Great video showing the dust test of these products.
Most if not all autodetailing products have some form of silicone polymers (some have carnauba wax) that will cause dust, dirt, other contaminants to stick to your car.
The best way to avoid all of that is to use products that does not leave SLICKNESS after application.
A simple car wash such as the blue ONR, dry with a plush microfiber towel, if you're concerned of marring dilute a spray bottle with ONR 64:1 for a drying aid (16:1 will cause streaking and hazying), and you're good to go.
Of course, having a base layer such as Griot's Garage 3-in-1 ceramic wax will make life a whole lot easier to do maintenance washes.
I have a spray bottle diluted with ONR 64:1 as my quick detailer/drying aid in my car trunk when I need to get rid of that stupid bird bomb.

I would love to see you try THE CLEAN MAKER. From Jamie the cleaner, and P&S. It is supposed to help with dust.

I will definitely check it out. I just detailed the jeep yesterday so she's ready for another product test. Any other P&S product or other products you're interested in?

@@thelarewsdo I think they have another one called paint gloss that I saw was supposedly positively charged or something. Some detailers use it for vacuuming the interior. But I don't know. Thanks for responding.

100%, they're actually sold out ,but I'll pick up a bead maker and dream maker and mix my own. (10 parts bead maker 1 part dream maker) We'll put it through the dirt road test and see how it does.
Thanks for the idea and stay tuned.

Clean maker attracts dust on my black minivan as much as bead maker. Even tried spraying less, one spray per panel, and it's still attracting a lot of dusts. I live in AZ and it gets really dusty here. Im gonna stop using bead maker and use tec582(once every 3 months) instead. Will also use dream maker by itself as a drying aid.

@macrid04 the other day I washed my jeep up and only coated it with meguiars ceramic detailer and there is very, very minimal dust sticking to it after two weeks. If your main coating has some mileage on it, try only Meguiars Ceramic detailer (bright green bottle) and see if you have similar results. It has surprised me! Plus the water beading of meguiars C.D. is insane. Let me know how it goes.

Yep, yep. The search continues... I think it's more an issue of static cling than the coating being tacky/greasy. Keep trying, we will find the right combination one of these days. 😀

Hey! Wonderful! I was beginning to think I was crazy for making the video, due to lack of views. But is was honestly a huge question that bugged me, especially loving a detailed car and living on a dirt road. I actually have meguiars fast finish in my stock pile. Once the weather breaks , I'll try to add it to the line up and make a quick update video.

@@thelarewsdo Not crazy at all. I ceramic coated my vehicles and now they are dust magnets. I actually tried topping them with Griot's 3in1 before seeing your video. Improved slickness greatly but didn't seem to help much with dust.

Sounds about right. Griots has become my go-to as a base coat. As weather gets better, I'm going to start testing some more toppers. If you have any luck keep me in the loop. I'll let you know how meguiars final finish goes.

      Hey,
The Griot's 3 in 1 seems to be pretty good stuff. I've yet to find something that shows any better results than what you saw in the video. Let me know if you have any luck.
