      Problem will be to pick some one , some place to do it. How do we know they will do all they say they will? We have to trust them, as there is NO way we can know whether they did all the steps in a complete manner....whether they put 2 coats of ceramic, or the 7 coats we paid for. I am absolutely willing to pay for a professional's time, so will stay away from the really cheap guys.....but, I don't want to get ripped off too. What to do ?

I will definitely use this knowledge on my wife's car which is a white Mitsubishi Lancer from the 1999 but it's color is exhausted. Hi, excellent video and very detailed 😊 one of the best videos I've seen on it. BTW is it possible to do the full job over a course of a few days, ie compound a panel or two a day and also same with polishing and maybe wash it again the following day before starting the next panel or does it have to all be done in one go?

    • @TomDoesDetails
      @TomDoesDetails  3 года назад +1

      TheGmiah Thank you and that’s a really good question. I’ve actually never done that before but it’s probably best to complete it all same time so you have consistent correction throughout. However if you aren’t going to drive the car and it’s going to stay in a garage I don’t see why not. Maybe just use an IPA to re prep the panels.

    Hello Tom,
    Hope you are doing good. This video is really motivating for a car loving person. My question for you is How long a ceramic coating last on the car paint surface with its glossy and shiny look in term of days,weeks, months or years??
    Looking forward for your answer.
    Regards

      Hey, so it all depends on how well you maintain it. If you are washing it properly with a ph balanced soap and using a ceramic topper it can last for years. The car will of course still get dirty but after washing it will have the shine and gloss again.

      Exactly, that’s the only thing I don’t like….that’s called click bait lying. Show a true before and after without doctoring the images to make the difference seem more dramatic than it actually is.

    Really great video. But also I'm kind of amazed at the paint job on such an affordable car. Looked like little to no orange peel. Pretty glassy even before correction.

    ...mmm I detailed my friends white Camry that looked gray when I got it ... 2 washes and then I had to clay bar every inch of it three times , to remove all of the crap in the clear coat... two coats of wax applied by hand ( I don't own a buffer ) when I took it back to her - she cried and thanked me for repainting her car ! She didn't want to believe that I did not repaint it ... I only cleaned and waxed it and showed her the scratches in the old paint .
    So YES some times you might need to use the clay bar more than once to get it clean
