  • Hello everyone!
    There are many storage solutions for Distress Ink Pads about there but since we don't have a craft room per se, I needed something that could be stored in an open shelf unit and look neat and organized, and this is what I came up with. There's more information on the blog post where you can find the PDF and the SVG file.
    The video is kind of long but you can jump right into the chapters clicking the time stamp below
    CHAPTERS
    1. Labeling Ink Pads - 00:02:31
    2. Assembling Chipboard Inserts - 00:05:39
    3. Sewing the Bag - 00:21:01
    4. Padding and Final Touches - 00:49:11
    I hope you like this project and give it a try

    You’ve just blown my mind! Dude you’re a professional! I’ve seen a lot, I mean a lot of videos and I’ve NEVER seen anything on the level that you’ve just done!
    I don’t know what else you’ve done because this is the first video of yours that I’ve seen but you’ve got another subscriber! If you made this at a professional level then I know everything you do is.
    Thank you for all of your hard work, and making your project, the video and sharing it.👏👏👏😊

    What an incredible tutorial! Your instructions are clear, easy to follow and not long winded nor boring. If you're ever needing ideas for a project, I've been wanting to make a zip around type case/bag like this for storing and organizing presser feet. Actually an organizer like this for alcohol inks, essential oils, threads, embellishments, distress paints and stains, markers etc would be awesome! Thank you for taking the time to make this video and teach us fellow craft lovers!

    👌👌❤️. Awesome project. By no means is this video the longest I’ve seen in this genre. Very very inspiring indeed. I’ve been sewing since I was 6 yrs old - made my own wedding dress - and I like what I saw here. I need to make storage of my ink pads too and you have inspired me to the extent of me forgetting I’m half a century old and am in serious risk of descending into teenage jargon and superlatives! TFS! You have much talent and I’m gonna make this for a variety of my craft supplies, as well as my ink pads. 💖❤️💕💗 it

    I am very impressed! Well-thought out and executed perfectly and really pretty as well. Wow! I'm not a good-enough seamstress to attempt the bag, but the insert are an idea I might use to organize the inside of my drawer where I currently keep the ink pads, though. Thanks for taking the time to share instructions and measurements!

    Fantastic video. Really wonderful storage, you have inspired me. I just recently got my first lot of distressed oxide inks and I was going to buy one of those storage racks from Amazon. Having watched your video I have now changed my mind and I’m going to make my storage by using your pattern. The attention to detail that you have put into it is incredible. You are a man after my own heart when it comes to organisation and perfectionism. I have one suggestion for future makes of this. Instead of using individual little squares that support the shelves, i’m going to try using strips. Then I will cut the notches for the shelves to sit in afterwards. I think this might save a little bit of time and be a little bit more accurate. One last thing. I’m totally in love with your Wiley coyote pincushion. Please could you tell me where to get it. I do live in the UK but still would be interested. Thanks again for a wonderful video.

    Wow, this is georgeous. And you made it all pefectly. When I craft it somehow manages to come out inperfect, no matter how I tried to do it right.
    I love the bag and the boxes. I would promptly start to do it for myself. But I have no space for such a bag and I need my stuff on hand, otherwise its to much efford to start crafting and to clean up afterwards and I end up just thinking about it.

    The finished piece looks really great. This is the best tutorial I have found on making ink pad storage, and with the final piece actually looking professionally done. I can't seem to find the type of board you used though, at least not where it's big enough, or thick enough, to do this with. I want to know if you have to make the pieces separate, or can you make it into one big unit? Or would one big unit get heavier than this thickness of board could support? Also, distress ink pads are very light, so I want to know if this thickness of material would be strong enough for heavier, bigger ink pads, like the ones from stampin up, and close to my heart? Anyway, this was an awesome video, and a great tutorial, with a finished piece that looks professionally done. Great job 👍

    Oh my gosh! You are terrific. I can't believe all the work you put into this project. You are simply amazing. I would love to have a bag like this, but am not sure if I have the required patience and skills to complete it even though I am an avid seamstress and crafter. Your tutorial is so well done. Fantastic job. How many hours did it take you to complete this bag?

    • @AwesomeSVGs
      @AwesomeSVGs  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you very much Margie. The bag took me about 18-20 hours to complete. I know it’s a long time, but I enjoy the process so much that I really didn’t mind the effort. I’m blessed to have an understanding partner that copes with the mess not only in our shared hobbies room, but sometimes on our dining table and office. I think you should give this project a try it is very rewarding and fun and it really isn’t hard to sew. Good luck! 🍀 and thanks for kind words.

    wow, Wow, WOW! I’m with many others in that I’d love to buy one already made! I think I could manage the chipboard racks, but I’d bet money my fabric case wouldn’t fit! Truly talented, you are. My guess is that you made the Wile E Coyote pincushion as well... am I correct? Super cute!

    • @AwesomeSVGs
      @AwesomeSVGs  6 лет назад +2

      Hi Heidi,
      Thanks for your kind words. I measured the fabric several times and believe me, I know what it feels like to make something that doesn’t fit, my niece has a beautiful purse for her toys just like this one, only half inch smaller on each side, 😂.
      Unfortunately Wile was a gift from a friend a thousand years ago, but I really want to learn to make stuffed animals.
      Give this project a try, I bet you can!
