  • G'day everyone,
I've decided to make my own Distress Oxide Ink Storage as currently they are scattered on a shelf, and not very organised.
Please head over to my website for a list of items used. www.handcrafte...
Each compartment will measure 2 x 8cm and the distress ink fits nicely into this.
    Over all the finished caddy measures 14 x 12 x 24 ¾ cm.
If you haven’t done so already, please subscribe to my channel and don’t forget to hit the notification bell for new release videos. Also please share and give me your thumbs up and I’d love to hear your comments.

Lovely idea and tutorial! That thicker cardboard looks like it may be bookbinding board. Love that stuff. I used it to build 8x11" drawers and fronts to use inside a 36-slot paper sorter! Has been great storage at my desk.

So many tutorials and this one seems the most no-nonsense and I’m so excited! I’m planning on storing mine in a drawer on their sides and this is a wonderful way to create divider slots and using cereal board is perfect! And easily customizable! Thank you!

Ali this is a great caddy for the inks. I love using other things to make what would have been expensive storage items, especially here in Australia. I recently made a tool caddy from empty sauce bottles, bought from choice or stacks, they are cut down to different sizes and sit on an inexpensive lazy Susan. There is nothing quite as good as making your own. Thanks for this and great to hear a fellow Aussie.

G'day Patti-Anne, so glad you enjoyed this. I too also like to make my own organisation, and totally agree, Australia seems to be expensive in a lot of craft stuff. One day I'll go to America with an empty suitcase. LOL. Crafty Hugs.

Just bought some Distress Inks and was searching for storage ideas and your post popped up. This is great and I’ve just spent my weekend making one. I recycled some Amazon boxes and wrapping paper, I think it turned out great and saved me loads of money. Thanks for the idea and instructions 👍🥰

Such a handy little gadget, for sure. After cutting the strips one could add the tape edging before shaping each box to make it a little easier. I think a corrugated system similar to this would make great horizontal pen storage, too. Very nice recycling. There are some simple lazy susan tutorials using a flat bottomed dish and marbles or beads if you'd want to add one. I think the pads would be more stable though. Thanks so much for sharing.

    • @CraftyAliConfessions
      @CraftyAliConfessions  5 лет назад

Thanks for your lovely comments. I agree actually, the corrugated system would make a great pen storage. Might have to put that on my bucket list of crafty items to make. 😁 Great idea. I did think of using marbles and a dish, but though it may not be as safe as it sits on a shelf. thanks again. Crafty Hugs. Ali xx

Hi Ali, I have made a single tower one for my oxide inks, I don't have as many, and this way you can make it to fit what every space you have, I have also done this for my alcohol makers, they all lay down and you see all the colours on the caps too, TFS, Cheers Anna.

great job, i love your caddy. i'm in process of making one for my distress inks and oxides. i'm using some pasta boxes, ice cream boxes,... mine will be bit different, because i'll have inks and oxide of the same colour in one space and it will be hanged on the wall :) well, at least that is the plan ;)
i like to reuse materials, why buying if we can use what we all ready have ;)
    hugs, Vida

If I made this I would use a lazy Susan on the bottom for spinning it. But I dont have the Oxide inks (yet) only mini originals. Great little project, well made. FYI the thicker card you used looks like it has come from a watercolour pad.

I thought of a lazy susan, and had been searching for one for sometime, but cant find what i wanted, its like fitting a square peg in a round hole. Lol. 😂 the little felt feed on the bottom of this, makes it slip easily on the shelf. Crafty hugs. Xox
