That's what the glow node was for. Could have gone into more detail about that..
Years ago I did this effect in Adobe After Effects using particle simulation. Now I'm thinking of redoing it in Resolve, and do better job, too. The use of particle simulation has one benefit over using a stock footage - it reacts to movement of the hand...

Great Tutorial. I moved a ton so the masking and tracker were a bit off. had to keep adjusting. This is a TON of work for such a small effect lol. (total noob here)

for some reason when i add my flame to the media pool and connect it to the planar i cant see it

What is weird, though, that the animation of the flame video stops and remains static. I have no idea why that is the case :(
Edit: It seems when you modify the global in/out in order to start the flame video at a certain point, the animation completely stops and you cannot re-start it again even after changing the settings back
You could do a copy of the planar tracker and use the data to map the movement of the heat distortion plugin. Way easier.
Yea that was my first thought and I tried that, but DR was glitching and wasn't applying the data correctly so I had to do a work around for this video. Did you successfully make that first method work?

Para eso no se necesita fusion, eso se puede replicar en OpenShot. Con esto se demuestra las limitaciones de fusion a la hora de crear partículas, no puede igualar a Particle Illusion o PopcornFX.-

Resolve to edit my videos and when i try to import the files from Sony
ZV1 its like i can import the sound and i can not import the video . I
am thinking that probably the file format of Sony ZV1 (MP4/XAVC S UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) at 23.976p/25p/29.97p [60 to 100 Mb/s] Full HD ) is not acceptable
by the free version of DR . If i am right do you know if the Payed ...
DR Studio recognize the file type of Sony ZV-1 files ? or can you gimme a

why didn't you use the planartracker for the heat distortion on a separate merge?
I wanted the heat distortion to be over my fingers as well.
@0:29 when you select "new Fusion clip" - what makes you choose that rather than "new Compound clip"?
Compound Clip is just combining multiple video layers

Find a longer fire clip. Or make the video shorter.
When I press track to end in planar tracking nothing happens...
When I connect media in 2 to the planar transform, the footage does not show
