      @@JamieFenn man I'm stoked. You know, there's a couple of things I've always had questions with that I think would be excellent topics for your videos and I haven't seen anyone else cover them:
      - How to use all the buttons on the Edit page (when you mouse over, it doesn't tell you and no one reads the manual)
      - If you cut clips, how do you combine them back together again?
      - Copy these popular after effects plugins
      - Advanced fairlight functions (top 15 relevant effects maybe)
      - Dealing with multiple timelines (I tried creating a timeline with an IGTV format and another 4k30fps16x9 so when I went to export I can add them both to the render window and create a file for RUclips and another for IGTV)
      - If you create something cool like an animated title, how in the world do you export it so you can reuse it in more videos? In my most recent video (linked after this) I liked how I did the subscribe overlay and don't want to have to do that process over for every video. I'm still learning, it could be simple but it's not at all intuitive.
      Nice, thank you! Did you happen to see my most recent video?

      As far as the other things I could see if I could include that info in my newest videos ;)

It's been over a year since I put something on RUclips, but recently I was inspired to make another video, and this tutorial was very helpful for this project! I used the corner pinning tool in three different ways: on a static background; on a moving background with the tracker; on a moving background with manually keyframes becuase the tracker didn't quite work.

    4:50 - you got the bottom perfect but the top right point is not using the brick wall lines properly, you're a row above! so the perspective was off with the Instagram logo. However, for the time you spent and the overall quality of the result... it's pure magic. I used Adobe AE for 15+ years and am learning Resolve, and I don't think I will look back. Great trick with the bricks, I take advantage of the same kind of thing. Thank you very much for the tutorial, I learned loads.

    Is it possible to, for trickier or darker shots (when tracking doesn't work as well), literally animate the corners of the area onto a surface frame by frame? (to later replace with a video)

  • @yakonly

    Hey Fenn, my encoder option in render settings in davinci resolve is showing Intel Quick Sync instead of Nvidia. How can I solve this? Would love if you can help out.

  • @LisaMurphy
    @LisaMurphy 4 года назад

    Is there a way to do surface tracking on Davinci? I mean where you apply a text or decal to a flexing surface and it'll stretch and flex with the surface? Final Cut has one, and it involves lots of tracking dots, but I want to work with DaVinci because I'm boycotting Apple.

    Jamie, i'm almost chewing on the screen of my laptop!!!! Everything you did, worked, except for the drop shadow... My head feels like it is twice as big as normal by now :-( :-) When you are adding that drop shadow 'node' in Fusion, the drop shadow appears directly, and you only have to change it. When i do EXACTLY the same, nothing appears... Did you forget to tell something, am i just dumb, or could it be that, eh... whatever?! I use the newest update of Davinci. I tried everything i could thing of, but to no avail.
    Happy but desparate greetings, Wim

      If you dont have a basic understanding of fusion this could be a tough tutorial. It could be as simple as a click or viewing the wrong node in a viewer window.

    • @DoubleUThings
      @DoubleUThings 5 лет назад +1

      @@JamieFenn The tutorial is not tough. You are as clear as glass, as always :-) And I have already done more with Fusion, like making the intro of our vlogs with pixalating blow away letters and moving lines and images. And with the help of your tutorial i made something similar, with three different videos playing on walls and a blinking exit sign while my son is walking through a castle. But yeah, maybe it is just something simple. I'll just have to find it.

    Are you also able to easily adjust the perspective so the square appears more trapezoid in shape, etc?

  • @HikingWithCooper

    What does the first step - create fusion clip - do? You can go into fusion on any clip and still have MediaIn and MediaOut. I pretty much never do this first step and things usually still work out.

    Thank you Jamie for yet another great tutorial. Only issue is that, on my 2015 MacBook Pro, it took me more than one hour to track a one word text object, for 3 seconds, plus 45 minutes to render an 11 second clip that includes the tracking :( Cheers.
