    Another tip for importing by folder. If you right click on the folder in the master and hit Resync Media Files it'll auto import anything you've added to that folder.

    • @ConnerJohn
      @ConnerJohn  Месяц назад

      Thats an awesome newer feature! I thought about mentioning it but i've had mixed results with it so far. For me it works about 70% of the time. Perhaps its my system and not a problem for others but sometimes I click it 3-4 times before it decides to work.
      Im looking forward to it becoming reliable though! Maybe even throw in an auto sync function that will check the folders at the users desired time amount and auto resync.

    This is truly an awesome Shortcut tutorial. I’ve been involved in video editing before most of you were born. In those days everything was recorded on two-inch video and edited with microscopes and razor blades. I wrote on a weekly hour show that had over 200 cuts.
    Our editors were skilled, however they would be amazed if they could have looked into the future and saw **this**tutorial.

Bring up the transcription and search for "GOOD TAKE". Then you can highlight the text before it and drag it to the timeline and it will drop in that section of the video!

    Great tips, thanks. I use the DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor keyboard, which I find makes me much faster. The Resolve Studio Edition comes bundled with it, which is a good deal. Also, you seem to use the Edit Page. Do you have any tips using the Cut Page?

    • @ConnerJohn
      @ConnerJohn  Месяц назад +1

      Yo yooooo! Yea I have used the speed editor before and it’s great for certain types of projects. Especially multicam. If they made it possible to custom map the keys I definitely would have kept it. But I ended up giving it to a friend that edits multicam podcasts.
      I rarely dive into the cut page. The only time I do is for source tape which I show at 4:38 in this video 🤘🏻.

  • @brandongonzales6374
    @brandongonzales6374 Месяц назад +1

    I prefer to just select all clips in the timeline and hit R to change speed of all. Saves time over diving into settings

    • @ConnerJohn
      @ConnerJohn  Месяц назад

      understandable! There are times I will do that as well. But I like to preview media in slow motion before dropping it in the timeline. If I have 30 clips of waves, filmed in 120fps, its much easier to pick the favorites when I can see the playback in the source viewer.

    What I really want, is to find one creator that I can stick with, and learn everything from them. I’m sure there’s an online course out there, but there’s so many of them that I just don’t know which to choose. I’m a streamer not a videographer so I care more about the editing side than I do the gear side. Any recommendations on courses or a one stop shop to learn davinci resolve? lol

    • @ConnerJohn
      @ConnerJohn  Месяц назад

      totally understandable! I dont have any experience with purchasing an online course. That being said if you want davinci specific channels checkout Jamie fenn, Casey Ferris, mr.alextech, and creativevideotips.
      I wouldn't spend the money on a course. The info you want is out there for free. and while searching around you may learn even more than you expected.

    I still yet to have the studio DaVinci due to it's availability in my country but this was much useful especially the Q&W thing I struggle with in the free version. Is there any faster way to speed and slow clips like we used to in Sony vegas with velocity and after effects? the speed tabs in DaVinci i couldn't use to tbh even though you showcased it with your shortcuts

    • @ConnerJohn
      @ConnerJohn  Месяц назад +1

      Hey there!
      Unfortunately, the fastest way to speed ramp to my knowledge is what I showed in the video. "CMD + R" for creating ramps and just "R" if you want to change the speed of the whole clip. I hope that Davinci makes speed changes a more seamless task soon.

    very helpful thank you do you know if theres any way to set up davinci to always have a font you want to be the default it goes to for any titles or lower thirds you need to do instead of having to find it everytime you slap a graphic on?

    • @ConnerJohn
      @ConnerJohn  Месяц назад

      Kinda! Make the changes you want to a text in the timeline. Then drag it from the timeline into a power bin. Then, instead of having to open the effects panel and get the text there, you can find it under your power bins and it will be saved with all the parameters that it was dragged in there with.

    • @LastXwitness
      @LastXwitness Месяц назад +1
