Ok, hear me out here. You have to decide whether you're aiming at beginners or regular DaVinci Resolve users. These are simple enough effects so I would assume you're aiming at ppl giving their first steps into DaVinci, but then again you go and rump up every single crucial step about making that effect as if the person you're aiming at is not a beginner. You need to set up your mind here. Who are you aiming these tutorials at?
He does say "Next Level" in his video title. And youTube does have a slow down setting (Playback speed). Watch the video a second time but dial speed down to 25% or just pause/spacebar and step back 5secs with the < keys. Hope that helps.
@@WhySoLoudnah. Even as an advanced editor i can only make out what he is doing because ive done it before. OP has a point it should either be beginner level or intermediate/advanced. Even just finding where to right click or how to add a keyframe can throw a lot of people off
Could you elaborate more on masking the person to make the light rays look like they are going through them? Do you just use a simple mask and turn up the softness?
Love your tutorial! I have one question. when I drug Light rays effect to my text, that effect has a black background and that covers my main footage. I don’t know how to make effect layer Alpha so that the effect background become transparent. Would anyone be able to explain that? thank you so much!!!!
It would be really nice if he explained this because I'm having the same issue. My biggest complaint is his video is for beginners to medium level users, then he speeds up and glosses over the actual "how to" so fast and incomplete that we are no closer to doing it than when we clicked on the video
I semi fixed it by turning the opacity down for the entire effect. Not the solution I wanted, but the best I could figure out on my own. Would love a video going over each of these "tricks" that actually walked a beginner through how to do them.

But you show some cool effects and then you speed up your video and flood over all of the specifics as if we are already pros with this media. If that were the case we wouldn't be watching your video. Slow shit down and explain the steps of you want less, views, subscribers and return customers. As it is in just going to search out the effect you mentioned and look for someone who actually explains it.

Firstly Add video above your Text then go to Inspector tab and Change the composite mode of your video from normal to Darken.
