I always give equate products a try. Many are very good. On a separate note … you are getting close to 2M followers! When I started following you were at around 12K. Shows people are looking for reliable content.
You can use baby oil too since it a mineral oil and it does good job too but it does have fragrance thought so be caution me personally i rather use cold cream to removed it
I have used micellar water, wipes, and mineral oil (fragrance free in the laxative section). I like a specific oil cleanser that doesn’t require a second step. 👍🏻
I appreciate the fact that you always try your best to find the most cost effective version of products, yet they still work just as well as the brand names. Thank you. A lot of us are trying to save money in times like these, but still need our skin care.
I have used the pink cap micellar water from Garnier as the 1st step in double cleansing for years. The trick I found for me is to saturate a cotton round and hold it onto my eyes to first loosen the mascara and then do a few gentle swipes across the lids to remove it. I use both sides of the cotton round. Any residual mascara comes off when I cleanse with the Vanicream facial cleanser. Doesn't burn my eyes and doesn't dry out my skin. I have never had much luck with balms. So I stick with what has worked for me!
I used to use the Garnier micellar water and then recently switched to the Bioderma Sensibio H2O micellar water makeup remover. It is more expensive but I think it is worth the extra money. I love it. Thank you Dr. Dray for your wealth of knowledge and information. You have helped me so much with my sensitive skin and overall health. 😊
Love the Garnier micellar with the pink top to remove my mascara and concealer. Works great for me and doesn’t burn or irritate my eyes at all. The find oils and balms leave my eyes cloudy, so I use micellar water on my eyes and oil/balm every where else.
I love the Micellar water to remove waterproof mascara and to clean up residual makeup around the eyes. The key with this one is that you need to give the bottle a good shake to activate it before you apply it to your cotton round. I fold the cotton round over my lashes and gently squeeze. It works like a dream and it beats spending $30 on the Lancôme eye makeup remover I used to use.
I tried the Garnier micellar water many years ago and found it to be very irritating around my eyes. Haven't tried any micellar water since. I say it every time you post a Wal-Mart video but I really think they are my favorite shop with me videos since it's where I buy most of my skin care. Thanks so much, Dr Dray! Hope you have a lovely evening. 💜
I stock up on Sun Bum lip sunscreen during the summer, because I have a hard time finding them off season & I use them all year long. Thanks for your recommendations Dr. Dray!
That new Banana Boat sunscreen with Vitamins is the best sunscreen I've ever used! Goes on soo clear and smooth, brown-skin friendly, and smells like oranges. I know it's brand new but I already hope they never change the formula and never gets discontinued.
Hello, Dr. Dray! Per your request, I tried the Gold Bond retinol lotion and I LOVE it! The texture was pretty much the same as the Beauty of Joseon version, but the smell was/is extremely off-putting. What is the ingredient that makes it smell so bad? Thank you so much for all the info you provide for us on affordable skincare DrDray! I’m a 24 year old dude that barely started using more than a just a facial cleanser and I’ve been binge watching your channel for advice Have you taken a look into the Equate ultra light broad spectrum sunscreen SPF 50? It comes in a brown tube and it’s around $5.50
The Aveeno Calm + Restore Gentle Nourishing Oat face cleanser, the one for sensitive skin because it doesn’t have fragrance, is outstanding as a first cleanse to remove makeup. It is very soothing and cushiony, in fact, it feels so good that I will stand in front of the bathroom sink massaging my face for at least five minutes before rinsing!
I don’t know why everyone overcomplicates taking off makeup with micelar water and balms. I have always removed makeup and sunscreen with mineral oil and a cotton ball then wash my face with a cleanser. It’s cheap and effective and doesn’t sting my sensitive skin.
I have been talking in your channel for years about the Gold Bond creams. They are sooo underrated!! Try the ezcema refuef for the body!!! Equally as good as the hand one.And the psoriasis one with salicilic acid is great for dermatitis!
I've used the Garnier Micellar water with the pink top for years. I use it to remove residual eye makeup, and to freshen up my skin in the morning (instead of doing a full cleanse). I have super dry, sensitive skin and it's never caused me any issues. I love the one from Bioderma, too.
I love the yellow Vitamin C Garnier micellar water. It takes everything off and it doesn’t irritate my skin plus I think it leaves my face dewy and clean.
My dad gets hematomas on the back his hands. Please can you recommend something to help reduce the time it takes for them to naturally dissipate? I recommended to him the GB Retinol Renew moisturizer to plump up the skin on his hands and an arnica cream for bruises. I would appreciate your input! Thanks Dr. Dray!
Used that whole Some By Mi line and it cleared my skin quick! My skin is sensitive and the irritation was minimal when used as directed. My favorite is the miracle cream. Works great with any gentle cleanser.
I`ve seen prices go way up at Walmart (same or worse than drugstores) and you don't see any sale or buy 1 & 2nd half-price deals in the skin care aisles. So yeah, not visiting anytime soon.
I love the garnier micellar water for taking off sunscreen. I tried the one for waterproof makeup and did not like it at all, but the original one is going to be a staple in my routine for a long time.
Thank you Dr Dray for sharing your shopping trip with us 🛍 I use the Marcelle Micellar Water for normal skin, it has Aloe Vera Extract, I find it very soothing for my skin. I use this before I double cleanse, with a small amount of water on a cotton pad then the Micellar water afterwards. I remove my eye makeup with this product. Sometimes I will use the Neutrogena Ultra gentle creamy cleanser to remove my eye makeup as well. Take care everyone 🌷
I use the Garnier with blue top for removing my daily sunscreen and the occasional regular mascara. It works fine if you let it sit for q moment on the lashes.
The micellar water actually used to be a huge part of my life and frankly if I started using makeup heavily again I wouldnt be all together opposed to using it again haha. It is useful actually not for taking makeup all the way off as a cleanser but actually me and all my friends in HS used it while we did makeup to make quick and precisue adjustments with q tips and cotton pads. Makeup wipes are absolutley abysmal for this. Later in life I started using baby oil for this purpose but honestly the micellar water was still always cleaner feeling and easier to use bc it wasnt as thick as the oil. So if someone regularly does fullface makeup it doesnt normally shock me when they use a micellar water. But youre right in your assement that it doesnt really do well as a makeup cleanser when youve gotta get every last bit off- but for me it was and probably still is one of the easiest ways to make quick corrections in eyeliner or eyeshadow.
I started using baby oil directly to remove a full face of makeup when I learned that micellar water was essentially water with oil droplets and I had heard about oil cleansers anyways. And I found that that was always fairly effective and up until I stopped wearing makeup was exclusively how I'd take it off.
Happy Tuesday, Dr. Dray! Thank you for keeping us up to date on drug store versions of products. I don't find myself gravitating towards them for skin care but lipsticks and micellar water are products I would you. When I had excema, I used Neutrogena unscented hand cream. It was awesome!
I use micellar water for removing eye makeup - the blue cap one works really well for me in taking off waterproof mascara. I'd used baby oil and Neutrogena eye makeup removers in the past but struggled with skin and eye irritation. No irritation from the micellar water.
Calm and restore is my favorite for my very sensitive skin. Glad to hear you mention it. Hand cremes break my hands out a lot and Aveeno is all I can use.
I bought a bottle of the micellar water one time like like 2 years ago. I still haven't managed to use it up because my Ponds cold cream works so much better and is easier to use for me. I don't use waterproof mascara so I guess I'm not the use case.
Before discovering double cleansing, I used Micellar water - fantastic at getting every last bit of makeup off (still best for that) but I would always develop eczema on my eyes after a month or so. So I don’t use it anymore.
I've tried the Garnier micellar water and while it did work well to remove mascara etc., it really dried out the skin around my eyes. After using twice, I stopped as it became somewhat irritating. ☹ I have used the Alba Botanica sheer mineral SPF and there's nothing "sheer" about it. It works well as a sunscreen but is very casty. I wish companies would stop using the word "sheer" with mineral SPF products. It's so misleading. 😵💫
I use both the regular Garnier micellular water and the vitamin C one in the yellow bottle. I find them just fine for removing eye make up and they do not sting.
I use good old baby oil or Pond's cold cream to remove my stubborn water proof mascara. It works just fine. I use the ELF HH balm remover for the rest of my makeup. I have super oily skin, so I follow up with Basic soap, otherwise I wake up with eruptions.
I love Garnier ! I also love the entire oat line of aveeno ! We use the pink garnier, Clinique’s charcoal take the day off cleansing balm, farmacy cleansing balm and glow recipe cleansing balm., whatever ones we have on hand but i repurchase all of them . The aveeno oat cleansing wipes are good too for travel and they do not burn like most wipes. The oat gel is a must in my house cuz we all use it daily under other moisturizers. It calms skin and sometimes if it’s hot out it’s enough moisture under spf .
I use the Garnier micellar water. First, I remove my makeup with a cleansing balm. Then I use the micellar water to cleanse any remaining mascara and liner from around the lashes with a q-tip. A bottle lasts me for years.
I only use Garnier Micellar Water when I’m out of cleansing balm. I use micellar water on a pad that’s saturated and let it soak onto my eye makeup. I let it set for a minute or so, then gently wipe away, and use the other side to finish the eye. Duplicate on the other tee, then wash with a second face wash. It always leaves my eyes red, but my makeup is gone. I don’t use it all the time, but it does work. That’s why it’s still on the market, I’m sure.
I really liked that Aveeno sunscreen, but the fragrance is STRONG. At least it was when I had it, it was such a shame because otherwise it was a great, hydrating sunscreen.
I recently found the Neutrogena Invisible Daily Defense 60 in fragrance free! I have used the original one daily on my face for over a year and I love it. So happy it's available without fragrance now!
For fragrance free mineral based body sunscreen, I use the Equate Kids Broad Spectrum. It's less than $5 for 8 oz and works for me although I see the reviews are mixed. My skin likes it better than the Banana Boat Sensitive Mineral Sunscreen. I have yet to find a micellar water that works for me and just gave up on the dream lol
As someone who wears waterproof mascara daily, the blue cap Garnier micellar water (waterproof version) works perfectly. I prefer Bioderma’s micellar water, but it doesn’t remove waterproof mascara well at all for me. I soak a cotton pad and gently press it on my eye lid/lashes and leave it for a minute. Eye makeup quickly lifts away. I add a bit more gentle presses to remove anything still lingering behind and follow up with a facial cleanser. Zero burn or irritation and I normally have very sensitive skin. I do plan to use Beauty of Joseon’s cleansing balm after I run out of the micellar product to reduce the waste of cotton pads (I don’t enjoy using the washable kinds).
I had the same experience with micellar water! It irritates and burns when I tried using it as a makeup remover, and it does NOT get rid of waterproof mascara at ALL. I stopped using it entirely in my evening routine and now i just use it to freshen up in the morning instead of doing a full wash with regular cleanser because it was over-drying my skin but I live in a hot climate so I definitely sweat at night. I've found that it works great for me that way, just apply a bit all over the face and neck, rinse, and apply skincare.
I believe the Alba Botanical 50 sunscreen is new this year. It is a very low white cast. It did go on pretty sheer for me (I do have light skin). I like it.
Garnier Micellar water-you HaVE to shake it before you use it. But yes you have to use more on your cotton round than the Bioderma one and yes it will leave an oily residue after. Bioderma is considerably better.
I have extremely sensitive skin and the Garnier micellar water in the bottle with the pink cap is the only thing I can use to take off my eye makeup. Everything else either burns or it's too oily and leaves a film over my eyes, or both. I also find that it removes my foundation, but I usually use the Neutrogena melting balm for that.
Love your channel. I use micellar water and found that the way it works for me is to saturate my cotton ball and hold it on my eye, don’t wipe, count to 20, then gentle wipe a couple of times. Whatever mascara remains comes off very easy when I wash my face. I wear contacts so I have to be careful around my eyes because as you noted, it can irritate. Micellar water works a little better for me rather than oil based cleansers because the oil gets into my eyes and then my contacts. I haven’t found an eye makeup remover that I’m truly happy with yet. Thanks for all you do and share!
@@keekeejenkins6162 I have the type of contacts that can be worn continuously for up to 2 weeks. I don’t usually take them out until the two weeks are up and then I wear my glasses to give my eyes a rest. I try to be careful, but sometimes the Micellar water gets into my eyes and it stings. I have the same problem with certain sunblocks and eye creams.
I love love the Olay sensitive spf/moisturizer. It’s one of the only formulas that don’t bother my eyes. Plus I really like the simplicity of it being 2 in 1.
I've never tried the Garnier micellar water but I love the pink bioderma one even when my skin is having a reaction to almost everything it still doesn't irritate my skin
Micellar water is fantastic to remove long-wear lipsticks. Some lipsticks can last 2 days and the only way to get them off easily is with micellar water. It's the only thing I use it for, but that one job is totally worth it!
I love the Garnier Micellar water, the blue top waterproof version, for mascara and waterproof or stubborn sunscreen. To use this, I shake it up good and then squirt some of the micellar water on a disposable round. This Waterproof one doesn't sting my eyes and it gets everything off. I use it as a first cleanse. I find that if I use an oil or balm as a first cleanse, my sink always gets clogged! The oil/balm hardens up in the pipes!

That’s true … it does leave the eyes cloudy sometimes and I hate it lol
I assume you mean it leaves your vision cloudy vs your eyes appearing cloudy to someone viewing them?
I love the Micellar water to remove waterproof mascara and to clean up residual makeup around the eyes. The key with this one is that you need to give the bottle a good shake to activate it before you apply it to your cotton round. I fold the cotton round over my lashes and gently squeeze. Absolutely love and learn so much from all of your videos!💖
I really liked that Aveeno sunscreen, but the fragrance is STRONG. At least it was when I had it, it was such a shame because otherwise it was a great, hydrating sunscreen.
I love hearing about all the different products on the shelves, but somehow, just can’t seem to part with my old standby Cerave!
i love love love their Hydrating Cream-to-Foam cleanser
We're going to have to find out about the OLAY SUPER SERUM coming out 🙂
Got mine but haven't tried yet. They just restocked. Round one sold out in an hour, I think they said.
I recently found the Neutrogena Invisible Daily Defense 60 in fragrance free! I have used the original one daily on my face for over a year and I love it. So happy it's available without fragrance now!
I just has a friend pick up the Banana Boat Face from the States and I LOVE it!! NO eye burn. 12:38
👍🏼👍🏼
Ponds cold cream takes off mascara very good and will not burn your eyes.
Simple micellar water is so much better! I have sensitive skin and I have been using it for years.
Totally agree about Tree Hut shave oil! So good but need it to be fragrance free.
Happy Monday Dr Dray…see you tomorrow x🤩💙
For fragrance free mineral based body sunscreen, I use the Equate Kids Broad Spectrum. It's less than $5 for 8 oz and works for me although I see the reviews are mixed. My skin likes it better than the Banana Boat Sensitive Mineral Sunscreen.
I have yet to find a micellar water that works for me and just gave up on the dream lol
Thank you!
Happy Tuesday, Dr. Dray ❤
Happy Tuesday
I used to use the Garnier Micellar Water, but like the Bioderma Micellar Water better. A lot of good things to check out ! Thanks Dr. Dray !
Good morning Dr Dray, thank you, I am going to try the Freeman cleansing balm too!
Loved this video. Thank you so much, dear Dr. Dray. Happy Tuesday to you and our friends here. You are so appreciated!
Neutrogena non oily eye makeup remover is the best for waterproof eye makeup .Doesn't make your eyes oily like Ponds does.
Is it weird to remove contacts before you wash your face?
@@keekeejenkins6162 I have the type of contacts that can be worn continuously for up to 2 weeks. I don’t usually take them out until the two weeks are up and then I wear my glasses to give my eyes a rest. I try to be careful, but sometimes the Micellar water gets into my eyes and it stings. I have the same problem with certain sunblocks and eye creams.
I get rid of my eczema rashes with good organic coconut oil. Just that. It works better than anything else i tried including hydrocortisone.
Woohoo a Walmart trip! 💜💜💜
Happy Tuesday
Hi Dr. Dray! Would love a video on body products that can also be used on the face.. Thank you!! 💞
Do these products have enough of the effective ingredients in them to actually work?
I love love the Olay sensitive spf/moisturizer. It’s one of the only formulas that don’t bother my eyes. Plus I really like the simplicity of it being 2 in 1.
Have you tried Cetaphil cream as a cleansing balm? It works great for me, takes off all make up.
I have also had no luck with the garnier micellar water. It does not remove all my eye makeup and it irritates my eyes.
I've never tried the Garnier micellar water but I love the pink bioderma one even when my skin is having a reaction to almost everything it still doesn't irritate my skin
Shiseido Urban Environment is a great option for people with oily skin. Goes on beautifully and feels like nothing on the skin.
I would absolutely love to be in this aisle at the same time while you’re doing these videos. It would be so easy to shop 😊
Micellar water is fantastic to remove long-wear lipsticks. Some lipsticks can last 2 days and the only way to get them off easily is with micellar water. It's the only thing I use it for, but that one job is totally worth it!
Got a question, can you do some reviews on the sudden change eye serum and products like that??
I love the Garnier Micellar water, the blue top waterproof version, for mascara and waterproof or stubborn sunscreen. To use this, I shake it up good and then squirt some of the micellar water on a disposable round. This Waterproof one doesn't sting my eyes and it gets everything off. I use it as a first cleanse. I find that if I use an oil or balm as a first cleanse, my sink always gets clogged! The oil/balm hardens up in the pipes!
How do you feel about snail mucin in face products ♥️Thank you
