You never heard of Deep Purple? But you did hear them: put in "Smoke on the Water"! They are 1 of the 4 cornerstones of the origin of Heavy Metal in 1970: Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Uriah Heep. Deep Purple is still touring, permanently ... singer, drummer and bassist are the same as in this video (singer and bassist back, drummer was always there).
Definitely the organ! My mom was our church organist. I've always loved organ and piano music. For good piano rock, listen to Blue Oyster Cult's, "Nosferatu" for something completely different.
This song and band are outstanding. I saw them a few times in the 80's. In this video after the solo, the drummer actually loses a drumstick but catches it and doesn't miss a beat. Outstanding and professional.
Glad to see you guys expanding your musical palate. Thank you for keeping an open mind. You are taking in and experiencing generational landscape changing music.

My reference was more a hope for those 40’s-70’s age. Those that will acknowledge that they view Rap as crap but have never listened. The site you referenced the young man is too young. He probably hasn’t heard the bands/music that “this is it” team are discovering.
Glad to hear Corey mention the blues because it was a strong thread throughout, although it got Rockified, sorta similar to the way Zeppelin did it. This translation of the blues into something Rockified came out of where back in the Sixties? It was just part of a creative process. Only a few groups did it like Purple and Zeppelin though. Easy to talk about, tough to bring into the world at this level.
Glad you loved it. I grew up watching and listening to these bands so it’s nice to see new people discovering this band. My first live concert was Deep Purple at Hammersmith Odeon in London in 1974.
Deep Purple has elite musicians and a top vocalist. They have a great catalog of songs. They have a bunch of great hard rock songs, but one of their more bluesy songs I really love is the song called "When a Blind Man Cries". Just a great song. Also check out the next band where the lead guitarist (Ritchie Blackmore) formed the band "Rainbow". Songs like "Stargazer" and "Gates of Babylon" are epic.
Brothers, you need to hear Deep Purple doing Highway Star! I'm also going to give you another song that will take you all to church. David Coverdale ( singer with Deep Purple MK3 & 4 also Whitesnake) with a solo song called Give Me Kindness. Put your hands in the air, boys, and open your hearts! A superb reaction today, my friends ❤

Agree on the flip side.
Where is the Utube channel of three white dudes willing to listen with an open mind to Rap/Hip-Hop?
@@tomgeiger7058plenty of them! Check out Knox Hill.
My reference was more a hope for those 40’s-70’s age. Those that will acknowledge that they view Rap as crap but have never listened.
The site you referenced the young man is too young. He probably hasn’t heard the bands/music that “this is it” team are discovering.
Fun fact, was featured in TWISTER when Rusty driving the bus, started his vhs and had it blaring outside the bus as he started to chase the tornado.
Top 5 live performances of all time for me..
I think Burn or Highway Star should be your next reaction for these guys! Both tracks will melt your face off!
Glad you loved it. I grew up watching and listening to these bands so it’s nice to see new people discovering this band. My first live concert was Deep Purple at Hammersmith Odeon in London in 1974.
Mark 2 lineup: best of one of the best rock bands.
They are band from 1967 and still active with the same singer!
The crowd was in shock.
...and by the way, that was back when real musicians were popular.
