Give yourself a big pat on the back. I know how hard this is because I made a sloper bodice and sleeve in a costume design class I took. It has been useful and I should do a pants and skirt sloper as well. I do remember my poor brain smoking by the time we transferred all the numbers to the paper. So I’m pretty darn impressed with your results.
Well done, Sian! It really does feel like magic when you sew up your sloper and find it actually does fit as you'd hoped it would 👍😊 It will open up a whole new world of possibilities, and I for one cannot wait to see what you create! 😀
Thank you for taking us along for this process! It’s so much fun, and I’m getting inspired to redraft my 14-15 year old sloper 😁 Seriously though, the fit of the moulage in your overbust/armhole is 👌 I always find that if that area isn’t fitting right, the garment becomes uncomfortable and I don’t wear it. Long forward to seeing you experiment with your slopers going forward! ❤ You’re both doing a great job on drafting these 👏
I have a better appreciation of patterns designers and especially indie designers. I cant imagine going through all of this. Good job on call your very hard work. Thank you for sharing it all with us.
Love that this works for you. I too purchased all of Suzy Furrer’s classes through Craftsy years ago. She is awesome. Love your channel and enjoy watching what you do.
Thanks for showing us your progress! I didn't expect that we'd see the QQ modeling her moulage, but I hope that she's as happy with hers as you are with yours! 🦚🔵🧵
That’s really great success! I’m excited for all the projects that will come out of it! ❤ Sadly, I’m currently trying for the second time to cancel my Craftsy subscription. They don’t make it easy for international customers and seem stuck in the 20th century. (Cancel only via hotline, really? Who’ll pay that overseas phone bill?) Their model totally isn’t for me, which is fine, but from a business and service pov, I’m thoroughly annoyed and wouldn’t recommend them at all.
Yey!!!!! This is absolutely brilliant, and I'm very excited to see what you make with these. If you're looking at pattern drafting books, I can recommend Patternmaking For Fashion Design by Helen Joseph Armstrong (it's the book Bianca uses), and it's brilliant. I got my second hand on eBay. Good luck! Lynne 😍🤩🍀
I bought it too after Bianca’s recommendation and read it cover to cover because it’s fascinating, I’ve yet to work from it but after watching this my fingers are twitching!
This was awesome. I've been wondering about how hard it was to make a sloper and how useful one would be. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you make with them. I'd also love to see if you use a sloper to alter a commercial pattern what the process is and how you make the decisions
Well done you. Drafted a bodice block decade's ago onto blue plastic. A few years ago decided to measure the block. Sewn up came out as a moulage. With the shoulders and upper chest fitting perfectly. Just need to add ease. I kid myself that I did not add ease to the original🤣
Wow amazing job! Nice to see you enjoying the process. Im interested to see how you adapt them for regular use and whether you will use for comparisons them when making commercial patterns? I've never been able to get mine into regular use as the idea of drafting from the sloper puts me off #lazy
This is so fascinating and really looks great! I know you are really showing us the sped up version, but I really wonder if I have the motivation to go through this for myself. I do have a book that takes you through drafting a block. As a side note, I wonder, can it be used to make your own custom body double sewing mannequin?
Well done both of you... pattern drafting defo fries your braisn... i did a cource... but actually i think these knes you are doing might be soo useful
I’ve missed the lead up to this, so apologies if this has been asked or discussed! The moulage fits perfectly. Are you going to use the moulage to fit over your mannequin to pad out and create a mannequin to use going forward?
Hi Emma :) Mum asked the same question! I had said no initially, I don't think the calico is a great fabric for a dress form but with some additional pieces it could work. I might experiment :)
I don't know what to do about making a sloper. First of all I am in the process of reducing my body size so I don't know what I'm gonna look like next month. Obviously, part of the solution is to wait until I've stabilized but the other issue is that even at my current weight which is chubby… There are parts of my body that are not the shape I want my clothes look on me. So would you wear foundation garments under the sloper in order to get the tummy & the boobs at least in the right hemisphere?
I've waited until I hit a goal to start this process and yes I would definitely put on the shape wear/underwear you plan on wearing to take your measurements, the teacher stresses this at the beginning of the class too xx
I really hope this does not come across as rude, but, rather than lots of chatter a few more 'how to' videos like your McCalls 6696 I would really appreciate. Maybe you do have more and I'm just not finding them! Please point me in the right direction if I can access more on your site. Thank you.
Head to the playlist tab and have a look through all the sew-alongs there :) My channel is chatty though so I might not be the creator for you. Can highly recommend Made To Sew and Sew Custom channels :)

Wow! Super interesting and very cool! Good for you guys! Christine 😺🇨🇦😺
Glad you enjoyed the Suzy Furrier class she is a fantastic teacher
Count these as a big success!! I can see the joy in your face at tackling your fear and overcomeing it. This will be a great growth year for you. 👩🌾
Omg, you look amazing in that pencil skirt! And your cheerful persona is soo contageous ♥
This is super fun and my brain is smoking from watching your math work, but it is less scary, keep up the good work!

Your hair looks fabulous here, the first part of the video. Super chic and elegant.
Slopers are looking great! You're doing beautifully. I know you aren't a fan of slim skirts, but you look gorgeous in the sloper.
Thank you for taking us along for this process! It’s so much fun, and I’m getting inspired to redraft my 14-15 year old sloper 😁

Fab work both of you! 🎉 And you look fab in a pencil skirt… 💕
Wow, impressive! I'm really looking forward to your version of Biancas beautiful dress 🤩

Fabulous! Thank you for sharing your journey!

I’m so excited for you! I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the slopers and all the experimenting that you do. That sounds like such fun!

You can send them an email and they’ll cancel it for you.
So glad your so happy, I hope your Mom’s turned out as well
Well done !! I bought those classes years ago but then did a couple of in person block drafting days which were disastrous and put me off completely!
Thank you for putting in the timeline, and very well done to you!

Very interesting, I am enjoying watching your journey, but I'm not sure I have enough patience for this
very inspiring ! cannot wait to see what you create from them all !
Well done! Your moulage is amazing :)
I’m so happy for you and your success with this class. Everything looks spot on. 😊
I am so glad I did my moulage. I can compare it to my patterns and see what changes need to be made before the first muslin.
I think you did an amazing job! I need to do this I think you will rock a well fitting pencil

Two months two projects that scare you!! Good job!
The look on you face at the first fitting 😂 have faith in your own abilities girl!😜

I thought the shaped skirt looked really lovely on you.
So proud of you 😊
I have this class but haven't started it yet - I think I should now!
Wow! I am impressed!
Wowzers

Both of your moulages look amazing! I'm just wondering, is this something that would be too difficult to do without someone to help you?
It wouldn't be impossible by yourself I don't think :)

👌🏼👏🏼
I'm curious to know how much you've used these all this time later - could you give an update?
I have 2 videos planned for this month about this exact topic :)
@KittenishBehaviourSian :D fantastic!

I know you are not a fan of pencil skirts on you, but they are so flattering on you! A bit Jessica Rabbit
