- Here's an update to my low-battery shutoff and a safety update for the Lynx.

Thank you Marty for not just letting it go, it is perfect that someone like you addressed those kinds of things to the manufacturer, as you are not some random guy, so they care...
Potentially you saved lives.
Great that they are continuing to update and fine tune the wheels. Super nice.
Marty is the EUC riding cool uncle I never had 😊
Thank you Marty for the feedback you provide to these companies and ensuring everyone's safety!
Nice follow up and quick LeaperKim action to resolve
The wheel should never turn off as long as you are moving. Only if the wheel isn't in motion should extreme low battery turn the wheel off.
Exactly, should be like an inmotion - lifting up the pedals just untill you stop physicaly
Nice scenery for this video! Glad Leaperkim has addressed the warning system for extremely low battery.
Thanks for the update. This is the first time hearing about it.
Thank you for the detailed update 😊
Appreciate you Marty!
Thanks Marty!
Great info. Thank you !!
Thank you, wow!
Thanks Marty 👍
The legend of wheels 👍 always keeping it wheel ✌️
Nice update
whew Lucky Veteran has that rapid warning before vcut off..
Leaper kim is the best in the business... they address these thing fast ... I love my Lynx .. I just think Lynx is going to be wheel of the yr simply because of the suspension , quality and WEiGHT ... they hit the trifecta on the EUC for me.
As I watched the video I saw you slowly creeping further and further back. Did you end up in the water after the video ended?
In Leaperkim safety we trust 😤👍 hopefully no cutouts 🤞
After hearing you say it out loud, I'm guessing continuous ladder mode is probably a translation of Stairs. So it can go up and down stairs smoother maybe.
It did get carried away on stairs sometimes, lol
LOL
One more safaty issue on my sample.
Once tge light is on, tge wheel start tilt back the foot plates from time ti time. Right after full stop the tilt become decreasing to 0 degree.
Same issue happence to the friend of mine.
On the doad it may happance at any time. And repeated multiple times.
No solution is found yet, except to use external light.
👍
I checked my Lynx top speed before and after firmware update and it did not change, mine cuts off right about 85.4 mph.
The question of why the euc would not beep with low battery + tiltBack as first warning for a longer period of time still remains as that is expected programmed logic in the controller regardless of any malfunctioning charger 🤔
still thanks for the update!
Hey Marty what did the top speed read on the Leaperkim app?
Asking as i did the free spin test and on screen my wheel got to 139km/h (86.3mph) however checking the apps max speed record that reads 133.5km/h (82.9mph). Battery was at 88%
87-mph
They allowed the cells to drop to 2.9V 😬? The hard cuttoff for my esk8 builts is set at 3.3V, with a soft cutoff at 3.6V
These are EUC's with very large parallel packs 🙂
Did Leaperkim said anything about updating their chargers, so this problem of them chargers not charging won't ever happen again? Some people doesn't have the freedom of having extra EUC chargers laying around, esp. when this is their first wheel.
No, they won't update the chargers. It's nice if you can have a fast charger too so it can also act as a backup if needed
Seems like you are missing two screws on your front handles! Just above the fender. My guess is ladder riding they mean the tiltback.
Thank you!
"excuse me"
xD
Question Marty ... 104 volts is roughy what % of the battery ?
?? Volts = 100%
?? Volts = 000%
104-volts is 0% battery. Now it will be 106-volts
Marty, s'il te plait, pour un meilleur cadrage, tu peux te reculer d'un petit mètre ?
LOL
Is Lynx carrying any waterproof rating ? Thx
An actual rating? I don't think so.
@@ElectricUnicyclesyes it does
standard
Test result
: IPX6
: IEC 60529:1989+A1:1999+A2:2013
: PASS
What about the too high top voltage Wrong Way Adam pointed out?
I'm not aware of this issue
@@ElectricUnicycles He looked at the smart BMS data in one of his videos and said the voltage for the individual cells at 100% charge is above the healthy limit or something like that. But he may have been mistaken. I'm not an expert.
@@heurekamugond4898 I just noticed same at wrongways video, I also asked one of the Lynx dealer, he said this is normal during charging, because individual cells trying to balance the voltage during charging.(from the screenshot it shows 0.97 A so I guess it’s happens when charging). If not, you have to return the wheel to Leaper Kim for replace battery.
Wrong Way is wrong, or he's working with the older batteries. Mine charges up to 4.2v/cell perfectly every time. Watch the app. The charger is perfect.
Why don't these euc's freewheel after cut off ? Why is cutoff catastrophic ? Thx
Everything is much more dangerous with a single wheel LOL. It's the way it is.
I'm thinking if they freewheeled, they'd need a separate/additional braking mechanism. 🤷♂️
Increase voltage to 0.1 in settings to fix top speed
???
@@ElectricUnicycles increase voltage by 0.1 in menu. Info from Linnea
@@alexandrestimaridis7881 I guess I don't understand what "to fix top speed" means. Sorry.
@@ElectricUnicycles my bad sorry, I thought you said kilometer per hour but it was mph. Some users experienced an issue with freespin cuting out at about 80kmh in high speed mode after update.
Early adopters are beta testers .Wait for the second iteration always!
Well I have 1150 miles on first iteration and I have had zero issues.
2.9V is per cell is way too low / most e-boards / e-bikes go maybe 3.3V or 3.2V at the lowest. If dropping the cell limit that low is how they are upping there range thats nuts. I would rather loose a bit of range with a higher/ safer cut off also its better for the batteries lifespan. At a push if they want to increase the range in that stupid way then tilt back and speed limiting at 3.2V per cell
It's not way too low for EUC's. This is nothing new and we certainly go to 3.1-volts on all EUC's.
That is only with low voltage mode enabled, not supposed to be used frequently just as a last resort.
2.9 is actually a very nice sweetspot between longevity and range
This is actually 😟 concerning... And it's not the end of this conversation... I think there's more to come
Well, to be honest it's not that concerning (very seldom do we ride wheels to complete empty. There's more to come???
@ElectricUnicycles ahhhh Marty it is brooo... It's happening because of field weakening and us being guinea pigs and simply accepting and not demanding better quality. I'm in conversations with begode as we speak about a similarly related concerning issue that I have. Going to do one of my humble uncle videos and let the audience decide if it's dangerous or concerning. I'm not one to complain but safety of riders is paramount. It would appear to me manufacturers and retailers are losing sight of properties, if they have no customer satisfaction regarding safety and risk they will have no customers.
What's concerning? 🙄
Honestly: As these cells withstand 2.5 Volts withouts any problems ….its pretty embarrasssing to shut off at 2.85Volts. Even with beeps and 10 seconds titlback. Just my opinion, and:
With that i absolutely do NOT mean it should DRIVE since it reaches 2.5 Volts.
But as agressive accelaration on a empty Battery, lets say 3.1 or even 3.3 Volts, can EASY drop/sag under 2.85V easily, thats still a pretty HIGH BMS shutOff.
KS, Begode etc dont shut off their wheels before 2.5V on a cell….
🙄
First!
This is the best lipperkim has to offer? Im not impressed
LOL
