To add to your point: don't ride small, non-suspension wheels in the dark. An unexpected bump in the road will set you tumbling.
I once road my mten3 in the dark. It was so scary.
Yep currently have a fractured knee from falling off V10F on an unlit rural lane (small branch) no, I wasn’t wearing knee pads, and yes I have Sherman in the garage, but the V10F is just so much easier to “grab and go” for quick errands….
@@chrisjones6542 i had some cheap $8 knee pads and elbow pads. Still have some scrapes but saved me from more damage. Just ordered Leatt knee and shin guards and Fox upper body protection from amazon.
expect bumps in the dark. be better than that!
I ride my mten4 7mi to and 8mi from work 5 days a week and I've been doing it for the last four months. I go in at 10:30p and come home around 3:30a. New rider first wheel. I've had one occasion where I almost got thrown into an overlean but it was because I went over a set of train tracks that was stick about 2.5in above the pavement and I clipped the second rail mid air. I disagree with you entire.
more capable small wheels would bring more people into the community. hard to sell a 5000 dollar wheel to a newbie
There are a ton of capable small wheels out right now. Newbies don't understand the setbacks as they have an entire skill to learn. But when they do, they almost always buy a bigger more expensive wheel. If we make these entry level wheels more attractive, they will cost more, and less people will buy bigger wheels. It's probably why they don't upgrade the smaller wheels.
I also agree, would love to see the smaller entry level wheels being updated
are they not? we have Begode updating. KS updates. InMotion better take note!
Very glad to see the Mten4 and A2 from Begode. The KS Basketball looks… interesting…😂
What makes WW really interesting to me is his very real and very deep reviews. From pushing euc’s to failure is informative to looking inside to see where the weaknesses are, all this helps the industry grow. And with the industry learning, we consumers are learning too.
It’s funny. I won’t lie, but I tried one of the big wheels, I didn’t like it. I love my little MCM5. It’s best because of the small size for me. I too am honestly kinda bummed that there aren’t any good smaller eucs. I like the torque and speed, but need more battery and maybe a seat. Lol. But there is nothing on the market even close to the MCM5 v2. The next step up is over $2k usd, weighs twice as much and lacks the agility. And I am in a city. The portability is what I love the most about EUCs.
Great to hear you say that hehe, i feel similarly about my mcm5 v2. It's range has dissapointed me once, & only because I didn't charge it fully before going out.
I bought myself a secondhand ks16x.. i live 3floors up without an elevator.. the mcm5 is still my firsr choice many times.. i can take riding 10km/h less for the convenience and safety. I still get there :)
The ducks walking on ice needs a whole video itself
I too would love to see a lightweight class of wheel pushed and developed again. It's hard to understand why we haven't found anything that competes with the IPS I5 for weight and portability yet. I'd love to see that form factor of
Some good points there Adam. When I bought a bigger wheel, I had thought to get rid of my V8f..but I’ve kept it. It’s so very good as a lightweight for friends to learn on! Dog walking…with two dogs on leads..Now there’s a challenge! 😂👍. But the fact is, it’s very easy to live with, particularly for running errands in town. The problem is as you point out. This, still popular segment of the market has been ignore in the pursuit of ever bigger, faster, heavier etc.. All the small, light weights, with the exception of the M10 /4 ..10”..no thanks! All the lightweights are now 5 + years old. They very definitely need to be revisited and more current tech versions should be released. Nice video as always. Thanks again. 👍
I wish I could walk my dog via EUC. he is a young, intact, Great Pyrenees. still a puppy yet 136lbs and as the breed goes, stubborn as they come!!
The begode mcm5 v2 is kinda a underrated wheel. It solves some of these issues. It is torquey as hell and pretty fast.
It's Gotway/Begode though, IED.
@@4nlimited3dition_4n3d lol yeah
To add a point about range, I've managed to get KS 14 DS (or just S) with 840Wh when they were around and I must say its an amazing city wheel.
I wish KS haven't stopped producing this wheel cause it has a good range (50 km avg) but lightweight (~13kg) and you can go with it EVERYWHERE. With a wheel looking like a motorbike almost everyone will throw you out from public places (and its even worse with E-scooters) and this wheel you can just pack in a large bag and go do your stuff.
My dream wheel would be a relatively small and lightweight KS (under 18-20kg) 14-16 inch EUC with suspension and Smart BMS. And why no one had made such wheel I have no idea.
I find that smaller wheels are commuter wheels, good for going to work charging and coming home
I agree with us wanting better smaller wheels but... Basically most of your points boil down to "smaller wheels aren't bigger wheels". Less range, power, speed, can't do tricks on them, not as solid... All these things are there because you have a smaller wheel that can't be a bigger one. It's like saying "I don't like my running shoes because they don't protect from the snow" since they're, y'know, not winter boots.
Hahaha, excellent point 😂
Hey Adam, maybe you could review Airbag vest/jackets? They are great safety devices. My short story is; I bought one because I was concerned about high speed travel on the road with cars and I thought of this device. I actually had a cut out on Monster Pro at 35mph on the road. I'm fine, the wheel is fine. Besides gear road rash, all I had was a scratched thumb cuticle. Was like landing on a pillow. I turned the wheel back on a continued to work. Trying to spread the word about this safety gear. Especially for the riders that like to go fast, like me! Love the show Adam. Keep up the good work!
What airbag were you using? What was the trigger, inertial or line to the EUC?
Kingsong 14S about 65 km of range reached in the autumn 😉
Yes, it's old, but it works well and does its job.
Sometimes it's tasty and fun, sometimes it's a pain on the joints, but it's still adorable ❤️
"DUCK WAY" 🎶
Let me quack you more about it
If I was building my own EUC : 14D or S form factor (but a little higher for comfort), VSEC controller (100v?) with smart BMS for batteries, MCM5 V2 1500wh motor/tire , 800wh of high discharge batteries.
Boom, instant hit.
Upgrades and refinement of existing wheels are on the top of the wish list. This includes also the smaller ones.
The XL sized pedals fit the 14D just fine, though you lose a bit of turning radius with them being a bit bigger. So much more comfortable though.
Also the MCM5 tires fit perfect on the 14D and are usually easy to find
I started with a KS14D but I am a small guy 140lbs (63.5kg) Agree with many of these points. I now have a KS22 that is a huge difference in riding a small wheel (30lbs to 80lbs). I am still learning to ride the bigger wheel but definately see your points, as always Adam great video. Thanks for your insights
Total agreement, i love the small and stylish nearly fully covered (no dusty/dirty machine brought into nice establishments) small wheels for civil riding, updating to 2024 upgrades would be great. 16” wheel, 25mph, 30 mile range, BMS, IP rating, and small suspension to smooth road surprises (knees). Seems there’s a race to upgrade euc’s for adventure riding, 50 deg hills, jumping, stairs, etc by every manufacturer but i prefer a quiet, smarter and stylish looking euc commuter with reasonable performance.
My small Inmotion V8s is perfect for the weekly OneWheel group rides. Keeps up with OWs easily. For other rides I have my diy esk8 and larger EUC coming
Btw, the ducks were basically “Walking on Water” lol
Super disappointed with euc market today. Ks16x, yes, this is still valid choice! For example v12 has no passive balancing in bms. S18 - too weak, and with high discharge pack - range is super low. 18xl, yes. S22 has many issues, but biggest is the design itself, lg50lt 4 parallels can give constant discharge, from 25 degrees Celsius and warmer only 7.5a peak! Begode realised that with master, but master - wheel that made of glass. Thin plastic, no proper mudguard, classic begode, but still costs like iron bridge. And then, higher end - Sherman max, Sherman s, far beyond 3000 euro, and 35kg plus. Where is good all-rounders? S22 pro, like higher mid level, but this is off-road oriented and still costs over 3000 euro, for God's sake. Looks like euc is getting overpriced as hell.
you are aboslutly right...for me there are 3 choices now...begode t3,ks 16x,begode t4 ... this wheels make some sense...dont need a freaking 80kmh wheel.police are everywhere in my city will give me speeding ticket without a mercy...got a 50kmh city limit.
Looks like you gotta pick one and enjoy it for what it is. These videos are just as toxic as they are useful.
I know the v11 is not a truly small wheel but I just recently got a V13. Yesterday I decided to ride my v11 and it was completely awkward to ride. SO LIGHT (in comparison)! I couldn't imagine going any smaller than the v11 now that I have got use to the heaviest of wheels.
I am keeping my AirWheel x3, stil fun to walk the dogs but it cut out once, I’m sure it was my fault but I couldn’t see the battery level and I was going slow.
Still my brother just got a V8 and is quite pleased for a family “training” wheel lol.
Keep it up!
Thanks for sharing, again. 😊
I still have my Ninebot One E+. I use it as a last mile machine, allowing me to park out of town for nothing and for as long as I like. As an older machine it wasn't expensive, but it still benefits from a 16" wheel. Apart from being extremely nimble, it's the only machine I can ride backwards (kind of), it is also a wheel very good around people, children, animals etc. That is, no one is going see the Ninebot as intimidating as I "speed" towards them 🙂
"I hope I don't intimidate pedestrians...
...when I'm riding my V13...
...at 40mph..."
2:35 Correct me (and Kingsong themselves) if I'm wrong, but KS-14D does have motor temperature sensor, unless it's a battery temp sensor, which is indicated by their app as "motor temperature".
4:45 Agreed. Even if we were talking about the 14S (which has 840Wh battery capacity; not exactly "double the capacity, double the range", but you get the idea...)
6:16 I'd add that, due to the nature of small radius tyres....they'll wear down faster than their bigger counterparts, for the same distance.
I'd also add that, unfortunately, due to (7:18 - or "them-being-more-responsive-to-terrain-irregularities"), they're...weaker, IMO, but this one is highly debatable, since there are "tons of people" out there claiming these small ones are actually "small tanks". But that's not what I personally experienced, sorry. I'm upgrading - earlier than planned.
from now Kingsong have spiked pedals for small wheels too, sold separately. Imo 14" wheels only for trainings or for shoping or from/to public transport
Well, I don't have a small wheel anymore, but it would probably be more fun than a small scooter. I do have a small scooter (E-TWOW) and it's great for getting around for short distances on smooth pavement, but compared to an EUC? Boring. But, sometimes boring works.
Right! But I still want one. I have the very strong idea that your clearly MASSIVE SKILLS were all built up and created on a tiny TINY tiny euc. My first euc will still be of the most nimble variety.. how else can I learn to ride backwards? Bob and weave? A platform to learn “tricks” on
I feel they have a place for and could serve beginners well.
I would love to try a 16” wheel . Anything smaller moves away from being a crosstown ride. Smaller might be good for learning new skills.
I enjoy riding my small wheel, and I have the tiltback set at 80% max speed now. Why? After getting used to a more powerful, large wheel - I set a lower speed limit on my small wheel to help protect myself from a cutout (because my brain is used to riding a wheel with the same wheel size, but 3 times more powerful), hop on the small wheel with the same mindset, and... a possible visit to cutout city - hence the speedlock. Believe me, I've tripped it without thinking - and "whoops, small wheel - change procedure" ALSO - watch your charge level! At this stage, I keep it at full charge as much as possible - to add buffer against the cutout gremlin (UNLESS I have a downhill start! The gremlin will strike from regen braking overcharge!). Interesting note: A cutout and resulting fall is just as severe at the same speed with a small wheel as with a big powerful wheel.
You’re upping your beard game.👍
How’s that working while needing to wear helmets? I want to let mine grow out too.
Thank you sir! It works like a charm in the winter. So much warmer
I’d also love to see more and modern small light EUC:s on the market. Like the kind you are allowed to use on public roads in Europe. Sure it’s interesting to learn of the newest even faster, even heavier and even more unaffordable EUC just out of curiosity and I do like to look at the promotional videos by influencers and real reviews when they are available. Still, personally, I’m more interested in the ones I can use where I live, and the ones not priced like an mc or small car.
Lovely Dog at the background :D 10:37
True! 🥰
I keep my old Gotway MS3V as a spare for now, in case my Master dies, but TBH really I want a spare Master, because once you go big and suspendy you can't go back to the aching knees, the extra ride path vigilance and speed that seems just 'not enough' by today's standards.
I still ride my Onewheel alot so my knees at 40 years old do ache on longer rides but, eh. Times gonna keep rollin, therefore so am I. 🤙.....aches and all 🤣
everything you list as being bad about a small wheel, could also be listed as something good about a small wheel.
Or make a reverse video (which I am sure you will) where you list reasons why big wheels are bad and the solution to those reasons will be a small wheel.
Get some new wheels to test and make videos about that instead.
Thanks for the content!! Love the videos!
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
@@mr_wrongway No problem at all.
6:51 wait a minute, would you then recommend Begode MCM5 v2 or not?
Nope!
Good points. I agree 👍
And why I started with an Inmotion V12 vs anything smaller. Nice to grow into vs outgrowing the wheel right away.
Did you drop it at all in the learning stage and if you did where you bummed out. I'm just scared to drop my v12 then it's all banged up and I would like it to look good too
@@ceasercruz8785 yeah I did, think it comes with the territory. Mine still runs great, haven’t had any issues with it yet. Now it’s learning more advanced stuff like riding backwards. Guaranteed will probably drop it again.
Thanks very much 👍
It sounds to me that you are aware of something we are not. Which manufacturer is currently working on a modern smaller wheel without suspension ? (smart bms, decent lights, 1000Wh+ Molicel, 2.5+ tire, IP, trolley)
Ok buddy,
Can you tell me if you can put your big wheel under the seat when you take train ? No , you can't. Only a little wheek can commute .
Little wheels are the most usefull 👌🏾
I actually think that the MTen4 is quite a good alternative to these. But still, Begode 🙃
I started with the smallest of the KS 14 inches wheels : KS 14M, 174 Wh. 15-20 km range, and 18 km/h max speed. After 2 weeks, I was boring.
I blew the fuse in my v8f one winter when mud built up inside the shell. The v8S has a electronic overload protection.
Bummer! I fried a V8F doing some inclines :)
I just realized I had a typo in my first comment, it's the newer V8S that has the electronic overload.
For city i love my V10. However it really would need upgrade but there is not much choice in a category of 20-25 Kg that are not Begoode. Urban travelers are just not interesting for the companies it looks like.
Will you review the KS 14S?
I didn’t plan on doing that but maybe…?
It is not available in the u.s. where I live for now. but it seems to be the only recent improvement on the smaller wheels. Besides the Mten4 I suppose.
I like the idea of a light errand wheel for taking trains or ride share cars, but if they are outdated junk I will probably pass on them.
It is certainly an engineering challenge. Small means small batteries, smaller electronics, etc. I do think a minimum axle load should be set for adult riders. But one can only fit so much performance in a small package. physics is a thing.
It's amazing that you could get to Vancouver, the best city in the world and screw things up so fast and end up back in Poland.
…maybe he’s fine with you know, actual culture, proximity to everything and zero Chinese buying out land/real estate while normal Canadian folk is priced ouf or the wazoo. Food, entertainment, natural beauty available to all, good rail/bus system and being at home in Poland 🇵🇱 means more to some. Cheers
Stary robisz świetna robotę! Szkoda że nie nagrywasz już po polsku:) Na ulicach coraz częściej mijam ludzi na "kołach".
Hmmm, two weeks ago you did a video, 8 Reasons To Buy a Small Wheel. Which is it?
Well, when you put $2-4k in my pocket I will purchase a bigger wheel! Until then I’ll keep having fun with my 11” mten4! 🤩 great channel though!! And hey, if you’re willing to share a bigger wheel I mean would definitely take it! 😂 Too I honestly think it all depends on what you get used to as well! Keep up the good work!
MTEN4 is the answer( but it’s Begode☹️) “crow-ded” nice pun🤙
I like my 14D.. But yes.. I want to see next renew version of it.
I have an ETWOW and a V8. V8 is much more fun and a bit more useable for short trips. I never graduated to anything bigger.
💯
a2 solved some of the issues, or I would say improve a little bit.
These wheels used to be much cheaper. I bought Tesla T3 for 1290 USD 2 years ago (and V8F for 900). Tesla T3 is in my opinion so much better, also small, it has hollow motor, 1500Wh battery and light enough for adult person :D. 4500 km 0 issues and it survived 60km/h crash no problem. But yeah I know, Begode beware :D. Even MCM5V2 is awesome choice, much bettere than this one.
Crow, crowded lol, I got it 👍
Kinda wish you titled the video the 13 things you don't like about small wheels over being a bad idea
Chat GPT and I agree. Put super caps in parallel with the batteries. (Not that anyone is paying attention.)
Crowded 😂😂
Good to see you more often in the comment section! :D yup, very crowded. A big birden for recording my video

And last one small whell lead to buy BIGER wheel soon 😁🚀
Always …
Ok question: my wife is 4’9 and about 110lb what’s a wheel to start with for her?
I’d say a King-Song 14D/14M :)
I'm 117kg so i need something with power preferably an arc reactor.

What I don't like about my Toyota Camry is it doesn't drive like a GR86... 🙄
You should really review the Kingsong 14S. It's got a 840wh battery. Upgraded side pads and bigger battery for longer range, and a stronger axle
love the color pants ya wear lol. shows the curves haha. all your vids are amazing

Wrong way everyone has tried a v13 except you why?
InMotion didn’t want to send me a sample via plane. They were also afraid I’ll break the first batch/software
probably tesla t3 and ks 16x are the best commuters right now..
