Man, you guys in Southern California have it made for EUC riding! Beautiful weather year-round & great infrastructure for riding! In Pa we have the complete opposite. Makes me wanna move.
Our trails are second to none and plenty of them. The laws and ideology of the state make me wanna move.
I was thinking the same. Upstate NY seems like such a short window of good riding weather and there’s very little public trail near me.
Its great infrastructure when it exists, unfortunately it entirely depends on what area of SoCal has it, some areas in the Valley have zero bike lanes with the only connection being a central bike route like the one Marty shows in his videos. When you reach the areas with no bike infrastructure you have to share the road with cars flying past you and its sometimes terrifying because people down here drive like maniacs.
Just taking the time to comment on my appreciation of this video format. I feel you've hit a niche of smooth video, sensible smart commentary and interesting semi urban landscapes. Mornings to dusk. Trails to streets. I sub to all the EUC channels and watch em all (still in honeymoon EUC period :) Im currently going through all your "milage test" vids to seek more of it. Dawn and Roger can get to be too much at times . Thanks Marty, keep it up!

For a long distance rider like me, the insane charging speed would be a enormous asset.
My Sherman S is charging so slow in comparison (I did 186-200 miles per day rides a couple of times last year).
I'd LOVE to try it out and see how much miles I could squeeze out of a 16h of riding it 🤔.
I wouldn't be surprised to get past 350 miles, It's nuts 🤯!
Alas, budget is tight at the moment.
These vlogs are very ambient and relaxing, may do my next trip like this

Easy choice
Long rides just feel so good.
I commute up and down the HB Boardwalk and in the evening the wind coming out of the West is brutal. I recently added the S-19 to my personal electric vehicle list and man that thing is so light that the wind just throws me around. It’s great practice for learning to stay balanced. Awesome video as usual.

Such a beautiful state, beautiful weather for so many outdoor activities including the coastal rides. But so many problems, cost of living, taxes, crime, long list. Law enforcement on the trail. You say homeless possibly an O.D. homeless victim? Sad state of affairs.
Love yours and Roger's videos. I'm a bit older than you at 68, I wish I was physically able to ride an EUC. You certainly inspire me.

{tl;dr. The future of EUCs, maybe.}
My belief is that the easy fruit has been picked off the EUC tree of evolution and the next major improvements in hardware and software will expand the potential customer base due to a both a reduction time to learn and the wheels will have greater agility than is currently demonstrated.
The next, easiest fruit on the tree should be a 60% weight reduction of the motor and a 70% reduction in volume, which is current technology as seen in Axial Flow motors. AF motors are even more suitable to EUCs than they are in the supercars that use them now. Minimal R&D is needed for this upgrade so it’s just a matter of time before AF motors become the norm for beginner through top performance EUCs.
With the 2/3 volume reduction, this allows motors stacking, better cooling, and -most importantly- room to add trajectory stabilization and power steering-assist and variable angular momentum (which means that a 100# wheel can “feel” like it has the agility of a 20# wheel.
The mass gyro stabilization is being researched in several Asian Universities, now. So its not going to happen as quickly as AF motors could. Imagine riding an ET Max will the agility of an mTen Mini yet the stability of much heavier wheel. The effect would be as if everyone in Times Square were simultaneously riding EUCs yet no one felt in danger of being hit by someone else’s pendulum movement (because its simply unnecessary to pendulum to maintain balance while standing stationary. Hard to imagine, isn’t it?
As wheel power increases, the limitations on speed become less relevant than the excess momentum cornering as high speeds, reducing the mass and angular momentum of EUCs will be the difference between corporate relevance and bankruptcy.
Slightly higher fruits but still accessible with existing technologies is ‘traction control’. This will require its own development team but (I believe) that this is the threshold for mass market growth.
Agreed, Also, people need light, efficient wheel with proven reliability and easy repair. Then next steps to me will be hardcore breaking on demand, with a "natural feeling" to it, maybe induced by the wheel slowly going forward a bit if needed to balance rider's weight to give hard breaking power. And of course, wheel weight reduction is paramount to this feature. Let's see what future holds, for now my eyes is definitively on the Lynx side of things. ;) Ride safe.

Awesome content. I liked how the vertical lights flash automatically when you turn. Looks cool and alerts others. Beautiful place and machine. Did you adjust the suspension the way that Dawn described? Like lower the spring preload.
I haven't changed it from what Dawn did. Suspension feels great to me.
Almost 40% battery left after a pretty fast paced 100 mile ride?! Wow, those are some amazing stats.
Don't forget that I fully charged the wheel midway through the ride

I really hope Begode works on making their next wheels lighter now that they got the power and speed, the ET Max looks amazing but I'm put off by the sheer weight of it, personally I've never had a 100+lbs wheel but my first time going from a 40lbs wheel to a 70lbs wheel took me a long time to get used. I'm still leaning more towards the Lynx for my next wheel because it maintains the weight of the patton while offering a bigger battery and power.
It's hard to go wrong with the Lynx if you don't need the range of a 3600wh wheel.
Those are some very nice stats for the ET Max..... Would that put it into a long range cruiser category 🤔 Maybe medium range. I'm still waiting for more feed back from riders between the LYNX and ET MAX. No sure if it's a big enough upgrade from my S22 to pull the trigger. Keep up the good work!
The ET Max gets a little more range than the Lynx (300wh more battery). Neither wheel is a long range wheel. Remember, I fully charged the ET Max halfway through the ride. If you want a long range wheel look at the Sherman S, Commander Pro, or EX30.
@@ElectricUnicyclesyeah, but while the Sherman S is 600wh more, it charge at 1500wh if you follow leaperkim guidelines.
Meanwhile, the ET Max easily charge at least double that speed.

It's not my wheel so I haven't made a seat for the ET Max. With my EX30 and Master Pro I sit a lot.
I'm near where you are. Looking to buy my first wheel to ride around and do some easy local fire road trails. I'm a big guy though, 6'2" 275lbs. If you're looking to unload one of your bigger wheels, let me know please!

Hey Marty do you still intent on doing a mileage test on Master Pro?
I am torn between it, and the Lynx. Battery size is important, and the Master has a massive battery.
I probably should. For distance riding the Master Pro is king. But it is a big & massive wheel so it's not ideal for many types of rides. I would never be without my MP.
Like cars every thing progress with time.
When cars first came out they made a Red Flag Act and a man had to walk in front of the car signaling to let others know a car was coming...yes cars went walking speed. And by 1901 they (gov't) starting allowing cars to go a whooping 12 mph!!

Its my first wheel.. and was wondering do u have a video on how i can set up my suspension .. or help understanding how to set it up properly thru the app?
Im 6'4 and 225lbs .. very athletic and will be taking my time learning before i hit any kind of speed... i exercise common sense :)

Wow, you picked some wheel for your first. Congrat's. Add lots of padding for the first few days. I don't have any setup videos but that's a good idea for me to consider.

I'm also waiting for my ET Max in Canada (west coast). In the meantime, I couldn't wait and pulled the trigger on the Lynx, which is (apparently) arriving tomorrow. I'm a new rider (only having about 20 kms under my belt), so this should be an interesting comparison. 😂

That's almost impossible to answer, how you phrased the question. Maximum mileage can probably be achieved at ~5mph which I doubt you want. If you use EUC World or Darknessbot you can view the energy consumption real-time and adjust your speed to achieve the maximum efficiency.

Ever since I learned seated riding I sit about 80 percent of the time now
I sit a lot but I only have good seats on a few of my wheels. I don't own the ET Max so I haven't made a seat for it.
How does this wheel compare to the Master Pro?
Small :-) The Master Pro is a lumbering high/lo speed cruiser. The Max is fast and nimble in comparison.
Hi Marty. the battery voltage on your app shows 63 volts. Do you have the right model registered in the app?
EUC World does not yet support any of the 168-volts wheels. An update is in the works.

how many miles did you log before you were comfortable riding with traffic?
It wasn't the miles it was the capability of the wheel. For years we didn't have wheels that were safe much above 25mph. Once wheels could easily go 40+ mph then I felt safe to ride 30-35mph as need to stay with cars on the road.
Unfortunately, you can't ride PEVs in traffic in Vancouver, BC. Although, taffic would scare the crap out of me. I don't know how you do it, Marty (you, Dawn, and Roger).
