    ❤ Much love and respect for this hard-working woman..Merely suggesting not criticizing, if she spread netting or burlap mat over the ground before letting the olives fall, so they can be quickly gathered up instead of crawling around and picking them all over again

    I once tried my hand at making olive oil from some of the numerous olive trees around Tucson, AZ. 3-4KG worth of processed olives and many hours of work later I had about 50ml of oil and a LOT of appreciation for olive oil producers.

      but in another way. That oil in the video is a very old methode. And actually its not for human consuming. Its called Lampanat oil. Ok that oil will not demage your health. But also it has no good taste and its not supporting your Immunesystem. It has nothing to do with the real " Olive oil extra vergine" !

    I live in La Mirada California. Before it was the city it was Olive Groves. It’s olive oil was famous all over the world.

      This is not how commercial olive oil is produced. What you see here is the finest olive oil being made in a very old fashion way. Most olive oil is mass produced at the cost of quality.

      This is so poetic,and this is the ancient method ,but true extra virgin olive oil must be made differently That oil you see on video is good for burn in the oil lamp, not good for consuption.

      @@birrafresca7664 there is nothing wrong with that oil. Straight from tree to press, 100 times better quality than the commercial olive oil on the shelve in the supermarkets.

      @@arra3410 if you look closely to the olive, the don't make that oil only with olive on the tree but also from the olive from the ground. In level of acidity that oil is gonna poisoning you. Make a good oil is not only take a olive and Squeeze that. You can see clearly at the end of the video when they show The final product, it Is a light yellow/transparent color, that it mean that olive oil is not good for consuption and most important, that olive oil has lost all the right healty property. From an olive oil producer from Italy, with love.

    People usually lay a tarp under the tree with the family reunited to bake a bowl shape with it to not have to catch each olive that way

    You can use a harvest net instead of collect From floor it again. İ'm working in an olive coperative so we sell harvest net and anything else for working easy

      Please dont understand me wrong. This is the kind of old traditional producing with big unhygiene mill-Stones all over the meditarrene countries. Its not the way of modern, healthy and high quality production of Olive oil extra vergine.

    We get Olive Oil fresh from Overseas every year and cost us 200$ for about 4 gallon metal container. Dark green in color and taste very nice with fresh bread.

    Fascinating, on the other hand this shows why modern industrial food processing makes things affordable. If we still depended on this labor intensive method olive oil would not be affordable to the average person.

      In our village in Morocco there is still a mill that uses camels to turn the grinding wheel, but they use water to sort out the oil. And not pressure.

      @@baxiry. how do they use water for extracting the oil? I imagine that you only get a very small amount of oil like this. Most of it will stay in the olive flesh.
      The process i have heard from my grandfather envolved donkeys turning the mill and then using hand presses to squeeze out the oil. That is the process they used in northern morocco

    imagine they would put big cotton sheet under the tree first and just pick it up full of clean olives in one move instead of picking them up again one by one for hours from dust

      @@Tehownilatorlive in an orchard town, we have special aprons you drop the fruit into as you pick and people to catch what we can’t store, not sure why you would drop it on the ground it causes bruising, and you have to take twice as long picking it up as you did dropping it there, would never pick more than two bags a day doing that, person above makes a good point a sheet or net would more than half the time

    I remember my jordanian co worker in saudi Arabia when they went for a vacation in Jordan they brought back containers of olive oil and it's organic the color is greenish and it smells good like forest its really good

    Une seule chose à vous dire : ne cédez jamais à la pression de la production à toute vitesse pour quelques gains que ce soit. Si vous continuez avec cette méthode, je peux vous assurer que vous prospérerez !
    De nos jours, les choses authentiques disparaissent les unes après les autres sous la pression des grands distributeurs. Je peux vous assurer que le monde commence à comprendre et à se tourner vers les choses qui ont une vraie valeur.
    Je vis en France, mais si vous rendez votre huile disponible à l’achat, je n’hésiterai pas à l’acheter en priorité, car je connais maintenant sa valeur.

    Traditional farmers are smart enough to lay out a big cloth underneath the olive trees. So they do not have to pick every single olive up from the soil ...

    حقا عملية مجهدة وتأخذ الوقت ربي يعاونك اختي وما أجمل خدمة أرض الاباء والاجداد مع الاخوة والاباء . والاهم هو العمل باخلاص كما تفعلين الله غالب الان دخل الغرباء لهذا المجال فأصبحنا نرى زيت الزيتون المغشوشة والعسل المغشوش الخ
    احسن حل هو استخراج الزيت يدويا والشراء من معصرة ناسها ثقاة واخيرا ربي يوفق وربي يبارك ويزيد

      Wonder not, you can sense the smell of olive oil in a 500 meter radius. It's a very strong smell, too strong for most people. And it's distinctive.
