I support EWheels. Why? Because of their selection, price, and perhaps most importantly, Jason's dedication to customer satisfaction and his ongoing support of the community. If the website doesn't list what you are looking for, give them a call. Use this link which lets them know that I've referred you: www.ewheels.com/MartyBacke
I deliver DoorDash and UberEats on my EUC full time so I don't get to ride much like this for fun on a trail. You've inspired me to take a day off and just map out a fun ride. Thank you for the video. Cheers.
Cool. Thanks for the feedback.
Ohh Marty ... You need a bike safety bell when passing from behind. You nearly took out that walk-drifter 😂.
Bike rider etiquette: "On your left" or "on your right."
Marty! Many thanks for that great ride. That so a beautiful places, I would like to see it on my own in LA. That video is a fresh sip of a warm breath between frozen streets in my country.
That was great; a nice safe uneventful ride. You're like an ambassador for this activity.
Appreciate these Lynx videos while im patiently waiting to receive mine.
Nice to spend the ride with ya - cool trip.
Beautiful video Marty, thanx for that. I can’t wait for more videos with V14 (range test 🙏🙏🙏). I live in Scotland and I definitely like your idea for testing the wheel in the rain.
Leave it to Marty to know all these nice trails 🥰👍
Used to ride the 605 trail on bike in early 80’s as a teenager. Nice video. Now that my Lynx is fixed gotta get out on some long rides in NorCal
A bit jealous of the weather you have! I went out yesterday for a ride, it's warming up here finally. It was 28 degrees F yesterday. Today it is 32 and feels warm compared to the -10 wind chill -30 of the last few weeks. Midwest. Take care!
Hey, I ride in that area all the time. The great thing about Irvine is almost all the parks have live outlets. 😊
Hey Tom. That's good to know. I need to speed more time hunting down free outlets :-)
Even adds conversion from a foot to meters in the video, amazing
I did enjoy going along with you.
Thanks Tim :-)
Ok thats range I like . Nice track to ride .
I was in Barstow when you were doing that trip, lol. Hopefully it won't be long before I can start exploring some of the CA places I deliver to on my wheel.
Man has concrete knees, I'd have to visit the mechanic after this.
Hey! Hard to tell exactly where you're at but it looks like I missed you! I live near Santa Barbara but had to work in city of industry so I got there early on Thursday and took off down the San Gabriel River Trail at about 10 AM. I did about a 30 mile loop on my Lynx. Thanks for sharing!
yes, was 0.f last night snow and ice. You got it so easy in SoCal, but my good riding weather is coming soon.
Thanks for the video, man. I live at the top of the 605 and I was wanting to know what the San Gabriel River trail looks like. I think I'll get me a Lynx and try it

@@ElectricUnicycles That sounds like a blast. I find myself watching all these EUC videos, and it amazes me how fast people go on them. I'd also like to try the Fullerton loop after I practice enough. If I get one, I'll be sure to let you know. 😂😎
Interesting run, so different from the UK, and even more so than in Cornwall in the far Southwest of the UK where I live. Apart from the sea on all side I also run on a lot of single track roads with high hedgerows. Not as warm either - mores the pity :-) Weapon of choice my Begode Master. (2700Kw/Hr is not tiny :-) )
So I'm envious, it's been a steady around -20 celsius(-5.8 degrees Fahrenheit) here for more than a month. 🥶
Wow, that's a long time. At least when it does get warm you probably appreciate it more than me :-)
Rain test would be awsome. Im not planning on it but if I get caught in the rain. ✌️
I’ve ridden mine in light rain with no issues. I also saw something on a fb group that eWheel’s was able to get it independently tested for an IP rating and it passed.
17:58 not surprising after all it's Kaliforniastan's green new deal working hard on those rolling blackouts. ;) Any way.... cool wheel mine should be here in two weeks. Love the vids.
Marty why do you use electricity from the grid and not solar? I charge my wheels completely with Solar here in the UK. Initial outlay was miniumal - two panels, an inverter and MMTTP controller has been great for years. Or just a nice all in one Lithium power station and a panel - either way, you'll never pay to charge your wheel again somewhere sunny seems mad not to!
What do you pay per kwh from the grid?
The lynx charges are nearly 900 watts need a decent amount of solar
Took a ride with ya and enjoyed every bit of it.
Have a deposit in for a V14 atm.
Might have changed my mind to a Lynx.
Range and speed is what I have in mind for an upgrade.
Can you tell more about your Lynx; pros/cons (if any)?
Big thanks!
Disregarding money, the Lynx would assuredly be a better wheel than the V14. Sorry, I can't duplicate in a comment what I've already discussed and shown in my Lynx videos :-)
What nice trails. Oregon we just got rain. Normaly its dry. We got you beat on junkies though.
LOL
Yep and now they get you on time of use. So the electricity cost more at the end of the day.
In oregon riding safe means being strapped lol.
lmao at that guy walking who was "drifting", my favorite pedestrians are the ones with no field awareness!
And there are more than I would like. Bicyclists like to drift too 🙂
Would love the Lynx for trails. But not until some of the existing EUC children find another home.
Now sure what you mean but I suspect you're in for a long wait :-)
10¢ canadian per kw here in Quebec (at home). Including taxes.
98% CO2 free as well (mostly Hydro).
Marty, which selfie stick are you using with your insta360 in this video? Is it the ultra long one listed on your gear page (Telesin)? Looks great and in the spring I want to get a similar setup.
Yes, what's in my Amazon Gear page
Recently saw video where you had a newer looking jacket on and thought you replaced this one. Or was this video shot a while ago?
This video is from January 18th. I own multiple leather jackets :-)
What suspension settings are you using?
About 50% preload and some rebound dampening
Sir, how you record so clear sound!? I hear all without wind noice!
separate microphone - not the one that comes with the camera
Very cool ride, but how are you getting away with running blue and reds on the back of your helmet?
Nobody (including police) care about blue and red lights on an EUC being ridden in California. YMMV.
Would you say the lynx is a significant upgrade from a master in a city ? I only ride to and from work (45km round trip), I ride pretty hard @ 100kgs equipped and my master has barely 20/30% left if I ride spirited for those few kms. I adore this wheel but I'd be willing to change for more torque (I make the motor skip on braking) and more safety/comfort...
I much prefer riding the Lynx to the Master. I'm not sure significant the upgrade is though. That's a very subjective call.
Nice ride Marty. Did you record on Strava or Wikiloc ?
Lynx is a Great wheel, you’re right.
Hope you fell better😜
Alain from Paris
I recorded it here: euc.world/tour/629366635409030
If you come to Paris, remember to let us know.
I will introduce you to the Parisian community, and of course, we will do a Ride in the surrounding area! 😜
@@alainkarasek I would love to ride in France 🙂
Just an FYI brother .. some of your Amazon Store items are listed as "currently unavailable." .. : - ) I wanted to check out the camera. I'm using the Hero 10 .. which is 2 years old and of course outdated, like all electronics over a year old. Tough to stay current without breaking the bank these days.
Thanks. Yeah, I know some items are now unavailable. I need to get off my butt and update the list.
What mode are you riding in in this video? HS or HT.
As far as I know, HS is more energy consuming at all speeds.
Is it possible to use HS as the primary mode and never switch to HT?
Hi speed is enabled. There is no High Torque mode on the Lynx. I suspect most people turn on the the high speed mode and leave it on.
@@ElectricUnicycles Any disadvantage to leaving it on?
@@keltonbailey If you don't want to go faster for safety reasons, that would be the only disadvantage to turning it on.
How safe is it to ride alone on the bike trail when it gets dark? I am thinking of riding that same path you are going but I am afraid of riding back home when it gets dark on that trail. Iam in San Gabriel Valley.
You mean safety in terms of physical danger? I've been riding the river trails at night for many years. Never had any problems or felt endangered.
Instal Cyclope lamp on this wheel and bright as in full sunshine .
How was the storm? Rained enough for the season? :)
Yes. The whole rain season in 3-days :-)
I 've seen those empty water channels in Terminator 2, but I see them now again in this video. How are they called and what are they???
They are natural rivers which have been cemented over for flood control purposes.
@@ElectricUnicycles Aha, found more info on them: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flood_control_channel
Never seen something like that in Europe 🙂
That’s it, I’m moving to California…
Nice ride man. I just got into this world. Still learning. I got a used Veteran Sherman OG. Why is it euc riders start talking kilometers and voltage instead of miles per hour and percentage? Lmao😂 Also which helmet do you use? Can you send the link
See Description
Jesus that's some awesome shots you get, how long is that stick?
9-feet
@@ElectricUnicycles carbon I guess?
@@Reawer Exactly. It can still feel heavy sometimes 🙂
Like
I did 150 miles once, but I try not to ride after sunset 😬
Damn!😳I think I pay around 15 cents/kWh here.
So stop signs don’t apply to you ?
No, they don't apply in California if you're on a bike/e-bike/EUC.
EUC are getting enough range now that it's possible to go from BC to BC with the West Coast Green Highway project.
copypasta:
The “West Coast Electric Highway” is an extensive network of electric vehicle (EV) DC fast charging stations located every 25 to 50 miles along Interstate 5, Hwy 99, and other major roadways in British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, and California.
what is that voice at 10:29 ?
I had to do some heavy audio processing on a few clips so there are a few weird audio artifacts periodically.
Greetings from Russia, friends! I pay 3.43 rubles for 1 Kilowatt hour, now I will convert 3.43 rubles into dollars = 0.039 dollars per month , I spend an average of 150 Kilowatt hours, it turns out 0.039 X150 = 5.85 dollars
Я даже не считаю электричество😂
Wow. That's incredibly inexpensive. My monthly electricity bill is usually more than $300 per month, sometimes $500 per month in the summer.
The West is held to ransom by the electricity providers, and the government taxes on top. In Germany the cost is now three times more expensive than in the U.K., and the U.K. is 2-3 times more expensive than in the US.
😪@@ElectricUnicycles
Lowest I had with solar was $34 1 month. Spaceba
¢38 / KWH in Hawaii 🤑
Number 6 with a Coke
Is this a reference to McDonalds? And if so, you must be a heavy consumer :-)
@@ElectricUnicycles LOL not heavy but I know my way around now and then.
I think the rest of the world knows how long a foot is, right?
But they won’t know mph or Fahrenheit.
Marty ...
If you ever want to Ride this 101 mile trip again on a EbIke ...
I suggest the AniiOKi A8-PRO-MAX.
At 20-25 mph Pedal Assist you can reach 200 miles range on a single charge.
I did over 100 miles. Still had over 50% Battery left. I rode a 46 mile bike trail both ways. 92 miles. Plus the extra 10 miles to to & back from trail from my home. So around 102 actual miles. Add weaving back & forth maybe an extra few miles.
Trail is flat ride. I weight 265 lbs. So I was impressed. It was Pedal Assist 1&2. I would slow down around walkers and in town areas.
I still want a EUC, maybe this Fall, just for Fun riding town. Unless I get a long range EUC of course.
I'm happy your ankle is better enough for a long ride once again.
Thanks. Some day I may get an E-Bike, but probably only if I'm incapable of riding my EUC's :-)
