I envy that you have a lot of great places/routes to ride without cars. EUC heaven!
I bought the s16 to ride around in Bangkok a perfect little wheel for city traffic it's fast enough to keep up with traffic and very manoeuvrable and it's small and light enough to throw in the boot of a taxi If you got too far away from home, I get about 55 km out of a charge in moderate riding.
I am very satisfied with that wheel
Marty, you have an easy, natural delivery with years of EUC wisdom. Appreciated
6 pack Gord.
Thank you 🙂
Thank you for the first ride look at the 16.
I’m super interested in this wheel. Looking for a nice commuter wheel that I can lug on the train to commute to work. Not into the heavier speedy wheels. The weight is a big concern for me. Looking to replace my V12. My aging knees would appreciate the suspension on the NYC streets. Looking forward to a full in-depth review.
Thank you again.
Just weighed the S16. It's 71-1/2 pounds
Thank you! Just got my S16 Pro today, it's my first wheel, time to learn.
Congrat's on the new wheel and forthcoming adventures. It's going to be fun.
Yeah it is suitable for first wheel. Perfectly all around 😊
Love the lights...heading far away and focusing on the asphalt. Not to driver from. The opposite direction ❤😊
Love the scientific method applied to these range rides. Speed/terrain/distance consistent for all wheels.
I really enjoyed that little wheel messing around at the Mount Baldy ride. Can’t wait to see you hopping up curb’s with it 🤙🏼
Glad to see you staying healthy
One checkbox the Lynx doesn't quite check for me is the price.
I'm getting spoiled with all this great content Marty! Went ahead and put a deposit down on the Pro, sliders are an area of concern but not a deal breaker, chalk it up to maintenance every so often, maybe this newest generation will be an improvement. Fun is the name of the game, doesn't break the bank either so I'm excited.
Yeah, they need to drop the sliders on future wheels
Nice video. I've been looking at this wheel as a replacement for my Electric Scooter since I would feel less awkward takin a EUC into buildings/stores compared to an offroad scooter.
Also really appreciate that you also add metric units for when talking about measurements
Yeah, the S16 is an ideal wheel for taking into stores, etc. I like to use it for local errands.
As a truck driver, I have to say that a lot can be said for a lightweight/portable wheel that makes a great travel companion.
That’s pretty awesome man. I want one, but I don’t know how long before it goes worldwide. I want the inmotion V2 HT. Real bad too
I just got the s16 pro this week of 3/18/24. I am a new rider these things are crazy to ride very different.
i would like to see some braking tests.
If you're trying to make the suspension feel softer, adjust preload and compression. Rebound only effects the speed of the return stroke after it has been compressed.
Probably best not to dial in too much rebound, if you're riding on patchy/bumpy asphalt, to avoid "packing down".
Thank you. Yes, I understand how these shocks work and how to adjust them. FYI, the S16 has no compression adjustment.
Hi Marty! Would you recommend it for someone who weighs 203lbs, 5'9 height as a beginner EUC?
Curious about your thoughts for someone my size. (Not a speed freak but would appreciate it if needed in the future)
o S16 também limita a velocidade quando chega a 50% da bateria?? me parece que é uma característica da king song! em qual o seu s16 esta limitando?
I would like the camera to be closer to you !
Hey Marty, great video. Do you know if the sliders have been upgraded? I fear it is going to happen the same as to the S22 😢
They are using the roller sliders so certainly not like the original S22 design. Apparently the "5th Generation" slider design.
Thanks for the answers. Could you tell me the difference in range between the S16 and the s19? If there was a difference in price of 330€ dollars, would it be worth it to go for the s19?
@@ipsilon00 Sorry, I have no first hand knowledge with the S19
Sorry, what happened with the s22 slider's? Easily broken? I consider S16 as my first wheel. I really need accurate info.
Hi Marty, I'm Sergio Nemeth Brasil sorocaba-sp I really like your videos and almost a month ago I picked up an S16 but I had never ridden a unicycle, I still have difficulty but I saw that you use 28psi on this wheel, weighing 81kg, I think I should leave it like that because I find it easier to ride, what do you think of using less pressure to become easier?
Yes, less pressure can make it easier. Just be careful not to ride very fast or hit any big bumps
Are there different versions of the commander mini suspension? The mini I tried out was completely stock and felt super plush
As far as I know, none of the Commander suspension wheels have stock options although I think it's possible to change the coils.
Been hammering over a wheel to get and grow with. Been heavily considering this wheel in the pro version or the Begode Master (new one from ewheels). Mainly bike trail and town riding. Wanted to not make a heavy investment like the Lynx but master currently is where id be comfortable entering price wise. Any recommendations as to which one between S16 pro or master?
Absolutely the Master. It will be a little harder to learn on (people can and do learn on any wheel), but with the additional power, bigger battery, faster speed, and larger tire, it will be a safer wheel to ride than the more underpowered S16. Don't be fooled by the "Pro" moniker.
I'd like to hear how many miles people are getting before the drawer slide rollers fall apart; still can't believe they continue to use them over stanchions.
Your point cannot be overstated. All KS suspension wheels are "worth less" due to periodic maintenance and roller-slider replacements necessary over the life of the wheel. Unfortunately, riders will have to waste hundreds of thousands of dollars to find out the hard way that it's designed to fail...often. EUC mechanics don't deserve this headache either, not to mention the warranty losses for retailers. Everyone in the community is harmed by EUCs designed with planned obsolescence in mind, and they need to take mechanical design much more seriously (over at KS).
@@grb1969 New to this, never heard of this suspension design and don't understand how it works. Can you point me to somewhere that explains it?
Hey Marty. How much does this wheel weigh. And when riding it at what speed does it start beeping.
This "non-Pro" version beeps ~30mph. It weight 71-1/2 pounds on my scale
Going that fast at night with only your EUC lights. Can you even see at that speed if someone is walking there also so you don't hit them?
I saw the S16 tear down. How about the silicon slider. Could it broke easyly? How about the main frame? Sturdy enough?
The sliders are the weakest component of all the KingSong suspension wheels.
Nice ride! But why do you do such short videos? )) Btw it is quite disappointing to see such range.I thought it would be comparable with 16X, but my 16X can do much more... (
As a current 16x owner I wanted to find a wheel like the 16x with suspension. I was torn between this one and the Veteran Patton. I chose the Patton as it has been a proven wheel and the range is somewhat comparable. The big tradeoff is the weight. If you can handle the extra weight, I'd get a Patton.
Hello, for the next ride (test range?) can you put 38PSI on the tire and stat graphics DATA (stravia?) with 16-19MPH ? for a real battery life, thanks.
Wow, that's a lot of requests LOL
I'm sorry but you are the only one who to take this test 😌
After riding the S16 and V11 and others which do you think is the best entry level suspension wheel? Thanks
In 2024, probably the S16. It's economical and an all around nice wheel. I'd go for the "Pro" version which has more safety headroom in terms of the maximum speed. The V11 is also certainly a nice EUC although it's an older generation wheel.
The major appeal of this wheel for me is that it appears compact enough to load into a car trunk. Would you please do a trunk test Marty? I love my Lynx but it's not a wheel I want to load into the trunk of a car.
I hurt my arm (nothing serious) so it'll be awhile before I can do a lift-in-the-trunk demonstration video :-)
@@ElectricUnicycles Oof. Sorry to hear that and I hope you heal up quick.
Marty, how is the waterproofing on the KS S16?
Looks to be as weatherproof as most modern wheels. I'd ride it in the rain.
Marty, how much does this wheel weigh? (Unless you answered the in the video, only just got here!)
71-1/2 pounds
Thanks! So still the same weight as the S19, huh.
S16: 70.1 pounds
S19: 72.75 pounds@@kiddo4674
@@kiddo4674 I never weighed the S19
I weighted the S19. 33KG. So almost...
02:35 you can really here the motor whine. Is it louder than other wheels?
Could just be the microphone amplifying things. The wheel doesn't sound particularly loud
👍
For a newer rider would you recommend the KS S16 or the Begode T4?
That's a tough call. You really can't go wrong with any wheel. I do think the S16 is a more approachable first wheel and is certainly capable enough (do get the Pro version if you go that route). Depending on your ultimate needs you will outgrow either wheel.
Will you get to test drive the T4 Pro Marty? The T4 Pro may be better than the S16 Pro.
Doubtful that I will have access to that wheel. The T4 is kind off old now and I'm not a huge fan of the "pro" upgrades. Prefer to play with new wheels.
Thanks I was looking for the V 11Y. Which is an old and reliable wheel, but what do you think? Is that a complete new story with this one?? Suspension wise? Faster at start?
The V11 is a bigger wheel with a more comfortable ride. The S16 would appeal to people who want a more compact EUC.
Thanks, I thought the S16 had a thicker tyre (with higher walls). it's less thick but suspension looked more modern with the S16 so more comfy on the paper@@ElectricUnicycles but indeed 16 vs 18 inch. Not easy to decide. 16 starts quicker also probably. Anyway I'm waiting for some more test on the new 11Y.
@@Anakena3 The V11 suspension is MUCH more comfortable than the S16 suspension. Kind of apples to oranges comparison.
@@ElectricUnicycles really I’m amazed as I thought the more complex suspension of the S 16 would outclass the V11. Like with the S18 where people often say it’s an overall better suspension. But thanks for sharing 😃
@@Anakena3 Note that in all my suspension comments I am referring to comfort level. The S16 suspension is probably better for tough rock-garden trail riding, but for pure comfort the S16 is a very stiff suspension. The S18 was a softer suspension. If you want a suspension for abusive riding then the S16 is better. If you want a suspension for comfort, nearly anything else is better.
My king song s16 Pro literally just caught on fire while I was riding it on my backyard track I mean a raging fire
Wow. Really? What exactly happened. Had it been in a crash previously or anything else that could have stressed the batteries?
In this video I see that you have a red/blue flashing light on the back of your helmet. Is that legal in California? I once asked a Pennsylvania cop and he laughed and said "no one is going to think you're impersonating a police officer on that thing." On the other hand, I've seen a video where an EUC was impounded because it had blue lights on it (not sure where this took place). I'm curious what your take is.
I think a flashing blue light on a vehicle (EUC, etc) is different than on your helmet. I've been around many a police officer in California, with the helmet, and it never came up. Not something I'm going to worry about. I think it does give me maybe a little bit of extra safety on mountain roads where drivers might be extra alert when they see the flashing blue from far away and initially might think that the police are in the distance. Who knows 🙂
I would get that S16pro over the V11Y
At about 24:00 mark, turning signal blinking?
yes but it seems to only blink on the right.
I really prefer small wheels, but I wish they had put at least 1800 WH on it, especially with a 3000 watt motor.
good thing u didn't try & go 35 being that it's not the pro 😅🙂
100volt would be the dream
Get a T4. And then you'll notice it has less off-the-line punch as the older 84v wheels.
Dang, u got me dizzy!
What helmet light is that?

not for rain, not for snow
The Chinese make you ride Kingsong as punishment right 👈🏻🤣
16X FTW? Lol 🤷♂️
bro you need to get a real camera. I get eye cancer watching your content.
LOL
don't wanna be rude or anything but this looks stupid A.F.
especially all geared up.
it's a wheel.
damn.
You are rude
The 2k24 wheel.
I'm too distracted with the stick having a mental breakdown
