Just purchased 2 of the Adventure 1's. The 2's would have been nice, but at an extra $400 each, I didn't see the upgrades as being worth it.

Say it with me everyone...Aventon "AVENTURE.." 😊

Torque sensors are dynamic because it adjusts power depending to how much effort you're putting in (within the power cap of the power assist setting). Cadence is static in that it senses whether or not you are pedaling and then will give you a flat amount of power (based on your power assist setting). Because of this difference in power delivery, some riders have even reported they could get better range from a torque sensor, since they are able to modulate the power with the force of their legs.

I don't understand. You say that the derailleur is upgraded on the Aventure 2 when in fact, it is downgraded, as demonstrated by the graphic that you display. Later in your video, you say that everything is upgraded when the derailleur was downgraded. This was probably done to meet a price point. You need to be accurate with your reporting.

I was totally against the torque sensor.....until I rode one. My wife has the cadence sensor (same model-Pace). I though the torque sensor was going take more pressure/exercise, but it really doesn't. It's much smoother, not as jarring as the cadence sensor.

I feel you get more exercise and burn more calories with torque sensors and torque sensor is more fun. The cadence sensor is like riding a moped but the torque is like a bike with more powerful legs.

cadence sensing is not jarring. give me a break. there are millions of cadence sensing ebikes out there with zero complaints. Its just a different response design.

I made my own ebike with a Bafang motor. I built the bike from a Giant Talon 3 MTB. I was not entirely happy with the cadence sensor motor so I tore it out and installed a torque sensor motor by Tongsheng. I have to tell you that you need to buy a torque sensor ebike over a cadence. The torque feels like natural pedaling and very fun.
If I get another ebike I will buy an Aventon with torque sensing. Making my own bike had it's positives.. One was it is a mid drive motor because I live on hills and I feel mid drive works better for that but I guess a hub motor can work. Also a display with voltage meter is better than one that has percentage bars for the battery.
That said I like my bike but it took so much work tweaking it to get it to work right. I think next time I will get the Aventon because I like the turning signals, the rear rack and the fact it was designed by pros so it all comes together and works together. Building your own like me cost less usually but there are issues that come up when things don't work together so you have to figure it out and make things work by trial and error and trial by fire.

They should figure out a way to give you both sensors, so you can switch back and forth. But if I can only choose one or the other I'm going with the cadence of course. Could you imagine not being able to ghost peda ever on your ebike, that would be terrible. 😂

I have not tried any AR bikes. But I love that they are using 52v no one else really is. Although Aventon is #1 with dealer network, customer service, and pretty great overall quality

    Definitely not worth 400 bucks.

people will regret the torque sensors in bottom brackets as failure rates are very high, and longevity will be short lived. Stick with cadence sensing on these sub $2000 ebikes, or buy a quality mid drive.

Had a question, I was looking for a bike with a torque sensor, going by your name I respect your post. Have you seen lots and lots of torque sensors failing? Like do they fail after 500 miles? 5000 miles? Just wondering about when you said failure rates are very high and longevity will be short lived. Thanks
