I used to work in Lush and we were told baking soda caused the fizz in the bath bombs and that it helped to 'soften' the water. Baking soda may also relieve itching, irritation, or skin infections and/or just provide a detox so I always used it in my daughter's bath when her eczema flared up 💙
Actually it's the mix between the baking soda and citric acid that causes the reaction when you add water. Baking soda won't just fizz with water because water is a base n you need an acid kind of like how vinegar is an acid and makes baking soda fizz...
Yeah, Saturday morning Kaffeeklatsch🙂I'm so distracted by how seamless the outlet cover behind you fits bc you covered it with wallpaper and it basically disappears🤓
I love this so much! Your creativity is top notch and I wish more people felt at liberty to give thrifted gifts. Stop the madness of spending tooooo much money around the holidays.
Score on that super cool blue tin container, love it! You got lucky with the Pyrex find, such a good deal. These are all great ideas and they look amazing. I was glad you said you'd be keeping the tin container, yup, me too! Get dirty like Christina Aguilera, too funny. I love your sense of humor and the touches of "witch vibes" you sprinkle in. Very nice...
Gotta keep it witchy through the holidays. Haha. I’m still delighted by that tin, especially that I found it in a thrift store that is usually kind of a dud.
Excellent as ever! I bought a pack of wicks about 73284 years ago with the very intention of reusing jar, tins etc. You might've inspired me to actually make some 😊
I’m gonna guess you (like me) have quite a collection of jars and things around. It’s my favorite way to use them up. If I’ve burned through half of a larger candle, sometimes I’ll even “decant” it into a smaller one so I can get the large one out of the house. (Or, realistically, cleaned and put into my stash.)
Love your channel and the diys! Fun fact: that clear ringing sound is actually because of the lead in the crystal. It’s fine in cups since the liquid touches it so briefly that very little leeches out, but don’t use decanters and bottles where the liquid sits in it for a long time since the lead will leech out, especially with acidic liquids like wine.
Yay! Katy made a hilarious new vid! Love the bath urn and bath bag (!!!???) stuff. Such a revelation for this bath-lapsed gal! I had no idea the mess had been mitigated with bags! So smart! And, fun fact, just use oat and soy milk instead if cow’s milk because that is also more environmentally sustainable and does the job, just the same! That tin container is such a find! I gotta start thrifting more. You find some amazing stuff! Also, that vintage piece from your Grandma is glorious! Wowza. As ever, amazeballs!
Good tip about the soy! Will keep an eye out. You gotta make sure the flowers and things are larger (aka not powder size that can slip out). Hope you’re having a nice holiday season!
My mom made a candle once, with dried flowers pressed on the side of the candle, I was burning it when it suddenly turned into a fireball. Instinctively I grabbed it and ran outside with it. I was fine, everything was fine, just keep an eye on yours. Beautiful items BTW. You're so talented and entertaining., thanks for all you do. ❤️ I just realized I didn't see baguette. Hope all is well.
Agh. Yeah, def have to be careful. The last few I made have submerged in wax once it started burning, but it can definitely be scary. Baguette is doing fine. She’s just extra snoozy in the winter, so she can’t be bothered to interrupt my projects 😂
OMGGGGGOOOSSSSHHHHH! Those ideas are stunning! You are a class act! Each idea is so high end and GORGEOUS!! Will be listening for the "BONG" from now on! LOL! 😋
So awesome you found that Pyrex...your friend is gonna love it!! Loved the AMSR when you put the rocks in the champagne glasses...heavenly! Amazing gift ideas...will be using them..thrift store shopping tomorrow!!💕 And love to Baguette 😊
This is one of my faves from your roster,I gotta say. Re using milk powder… I suggest using soy milk powder instead. It’s more sustainable and contains naturally occurring Vegan lecithin, which has moisturizing properties and is cruelty free!
I love these ideas myself.... I think there is a fine between tasteful n tacky n these turned out so nice. I know its the thought that counts but lets be honest not all hand made items turn out looking store bought. Thank you for this!
So so so much more work than anything anyone would normally buy at a store! So much creativity and effort and thought went into these. Really amazing … much better than the Trader Joe’s cookie tins I am giving away. 😂😂😂❤

Oooh thank you for that explanation! Also, I love LUSH so much. I need to restock.

@@moon-moth1 that really sucks because baking soda is so useful for a lot even if it is considered old fashion to yall
Salt water helps my eczema!!!

Probably my best work to date 🙏

I respect that 😂

@@LaughCryDIY - I'll be keeping an eye out for one now, usually pass tins by, no more though, I'll be checking them.
Have a good week!
That carnival glass candle is stunning.
It was the best find at my grandma’s house. Just hanging in a cupboard.

Love it❤The crystal ‘bong’ sound is something my grandmother taught me when I was young! I cosign your crystal validation hack.
Something so fun about it. Crystal really likes to make her presence known 😂
All great ideas that people would actually like!
Like I said, I’m keeping them all.

It’s a fun one too. I don’t know why I just never light the tall candles.
thanks Katy, great ideas xox

I love the candle hack! I'll never buy wax again. 🥰
Super easy and a great way to combine all those half-burned ones (assuming the scents will vibe).
Very cool DIYs - LOVED the candle I the vintage tin!
Such an unexpected find. So glad for it.

Is there a good way to tell what kinds of vessels you shouldn’t be a burning a candle in? Or how to know if something is heat proof?
Glass, metal, ceramic are usually my go-tos. Mostly avoiding plastic and wood.

take the end of the wick and tape it to a pencil and then roll it down to the top of the container
Love that
That is an expensive thrift store. 12.99 and 10 bucks, hard to find anything over 10 at our thrift stores.
I know. LA thrift store prices are getting insane 😭
baking soda neutralizes ph and can act as a softner
