I bought mine a week ago and already read so much more than usual. In 2023, I read 152 books, who knows how much I will read in 2024 using the kindle? I don't know but the sky's the limit! I love using my Kindle Paperwhite Signature so much. I don't have many books inside but I love to read a few books all at once and it's been so much fun switching between books so easily. Love this product so so much.

E-readers do not need yearly updates, they can go on for 10 years and still do their job pretty well. Kindle might be the best e-reader, but lately there has been some issues with Kindle deleting books randomly that are side loaded with USB cable after airplane mode is turned off. Amazon doesn't seem to do anything about this as their incentive is to sell Amazon books or Kindle Unlimited.

@@steverolfeca Thanks for sharing your experience. I find eye strain and sleep deprivation to be overrated. People work on computers 8+ hours a day and don’t suffer significantly for it; reading for an hour or two on an iPad set dimly and with themed background (green, beige, black) isn’t a major sacrifice. The benefits are myriad, such as wonderful color viewing of book library, easy purchases, superb UI for highlighting and note taking, beautiful picture books and animated novels, kid-friendly children’s books, more choices for fonts and themes…it’s truly amazing to read on iPad Mini. I will never purchase another Kindle despite owning about ten of them in the past.

Use my Kindle Paperwhite everyday and it is perfect for the task of reading.
However there is a fundamental flaw with the Kindle. Actually It’s with Amazon not the device. Unless you happen to live in the US. The Kindle is not compatible with Library book formats Overdrive and Libby. This effectively rules out Kindle in the Uk if you don’t want to purchase every single book you read. The Amazon advantage you mention is actually a massive disadvantage if you live outside the US forcing users to buy from Amazon. This should be highlighted more often by reviewers, then maybe Amazon will listen. As ever a great video really enjoy your reviews.

I definitely think they should release a Paperwhite-sized Kindle Scribe. i think that would be a great move.
I've got the Paperwhite Signature Edition. When I got it, it was the only Paperwhite with USB-C and wireless charging. I know wireless charging doesn't sound like a big deal, but the wireless stand Amazon sells makes it really convenient, and it's just nice to have somewhere neat and organized to put the Kindle, rather than just having it laying on a desk with a cord attached to it.
One of the other things I like about the Kindle ecosystem in general is the online notes. Being able to read something in my Kindle, jump online, and type in a note on a real keyboard (rather than the virtual keyboard on the Kindle itself) lets me take much better, longer notes. It really makes ne not worry so much about the Scribe.

I bought the Kindle PW 5 Kid’s Edition) on sale for $100.00 in January 2022 following Manjeet’s video on this. Turned off kiddie mode and to this day, the kindle is my favorite device! Beats out the iPhone for pleasure because I read so often
I agree with Manjeet that the PW 5 is the best bang for buck when it’s on sale. Warm light, and extra screen size are the top features I enjoy.
If you’re just adding books, save 10 bucks and get 8 gig version. I’ve barely used any hard drive space on mine in the past 2 years.
If you’re going to read manga, comics, PDF’s and or listen to Audible books, then yes get the 16 gig model.
Great video and glad you are still promoting the PW. 😊

I have had a Paperwhite 11th Gen for a couple of years. At first it lived up to expectations and could go three months of regular use without needing a charge. But all of a sudden a few months ago I found the battery draining rapidly and lasting barely a week, and I would pick it up to find it dead. For a bedside device this is tolerable, but for travel it defeats the purpose of having an e-reader. This seems to be a documented problem, but despite trying everything suggested on the forums including a full reset, the problem has not gone away. And of course it is out of guarantee. I am now considering the latest Kobo Clara BW. Thanks for your videos.

s well as my Kindle 11 (Paperwhite 5) I still have my old Kindle 5 (PW1) just as good as new although the protective case is just about shot.. The PW1 has 2Gb storage which still holds a lot of books,. I keep it as a backup, I can continue reading while my 'new' Kindle is charging, it lasts about a week between charges as I use it very heavily. It is easier to read than the old one which has quite a blue tinge on the screen

Nice review. I'd love to see more fonts in an updated Kindle. The ergonomics point is good: I'm using a Kobo Clara 2E way more than my Paperwhite these days -- it's more comfortable in one hand and fits in a pocket better. The trade off is that it's not quite as fast as the Kindle initially but once a book is loaded it's about the same I think.

Like showing the clock while reading, the dark mode throughout the ui (right now it only applies to the book), tagging books (like “on hold”) or the beautiful page turn animation… anything you think would work! Thanks❤️

No emails, calls, social media, notifications and all that jazz even the device is slow. I consider it an impeccable device. The Power button could have had a better placement but with the c type charger I cannot find reason to complain.

I ordered a few new books for the trip.I didn't have WIFI and foulnd that I couldn't open the new books without WIFI. Luckily I had previously opened some books and hadn't got into them beyond a few pages. They opened fine. Also roaming charges can be high when travelling. The ONLY complaint that I had initially was that the reverse mode where the letters are white and the background is black looks bad on the Paperwhite, at least to me. and that's how I'd been reading on my Fire HD 8 previously. That said I just used the normal mode and got used to it very quickly.

Hi Maneet, I actually sold my Paperwhite to get the new 2022 release Kindle because it is smaller, lighter and the bezel isn't flush with the screen. I have found it to be just as snappy and I've been so happy with it! So I think the best Kindle will depend a lot on what you value. I've been reviewing a lot of BOOX Android e-readers in recent weeks. I don't enjoy using the color e-ink. It's cool, but requires too much fiddling with settings to get it right. Having multiple apps is a fantastic perk, though.
