    One the key scribe notes features that nobody mentions is being able to create folders , and folders within folders. This allows the organising of your notes into multiple notebooks all contained within a higher level folder. The key benefit of this is being able to group note books within a logical hierarchy. This isn’t possible in the library part for books though, where only one layer of collections is allowed. I hope they will bring new features to notes such as labels for fast searching of relatable notes. Also, I would like to see the ability to a) change the template style for pages within the same notebook, and b) a way of creating custom templates for forms used over and over… like log sheets.
    I totally agree about the eraser which for a fifty euro pen is rather dissatisfying. An auto date feature for notes pages would be nice too.

    • @VladimirKostek
      @VladimirKostek  9 месяцев назад +1

      An auto date feature would be nice for temporal based notebooks. You are right layered 📂 organization is nice, I talk about this in the interview with my friend Olivia briefly. It's nice Amazon has been pretty steady in upgrading features thus far.

      No problem, another viewer made a good point too... the notes they have make it so that you can see a consolidated view too of what notes you took. Marking up individual pages would make that much harder. Still think it would be nice to have both options eventually. We'll see what Amazon can cook up this next year!

      I'm asking because I got Boox Note Air 3 and it just slaps the typed text on like a picture. You cannot move, resize it, select it. Unless you delete the page, there is no getting rid of it.
      Does Scribe do that?

    thx for the review! i fell in love with the 'e-ink' technology after watching Unbox Therapy's video on the Remarkable 2. with the spring semester of college approaching, i really want to use this as my primary notetaking device because it makes it so much easier to 1) save/organize notes and 2) eliminates the possiblity of losing notes or misplacing them. unfortunately the amazon discount disappeared today and the base model, 16GB, is back to $339. I guess I'll wait until the new year where they'll hopefully resume the deals again. Looks so so cool! not a bookworm but i'd love to try reading if i get this piece of tech.

    I will be interested to see your thoughts on the A6X2 Nomad. I’m looking for an all-in-one device and recently canceled my A6X2 order to try out the Scribe first because I was worried about the lackluster reading experience on the A6X2. I’m kind of regretting canceling now because I prefer the A6X’s size and it seems like the PDF annotation is more fleshed out.

    • @VladimirKostek
      @VladimirKostek  11 месяцев назад +6

      It's a really cool device! I will say the scribe is generally one of the better devices solely for e-reading with the frontlight. I found the PDF annotation to be generally pretty good on it too. The Nomad is quite solid too though, I'd say it really is a matter of size preference. Also if you prefer nicer pens the Supernote wins hands down, using my heart of metal 2 pen rn. I'll be putting out a short this week of the nomad and my first larger video on it will be a drawing livestream, I'm working with Supernote to first improve the atelier app a bit. If you want more in depth content rn I would point you to Kit Betts-Masters or Brandon Boswell's channels. I will do a full review of the Nomad eventually, but I only feel comfortable reviewing a device after some months minimum so I get to know it better. If you have any direct questions on the nomad feel free to ask here or on any future videos I put out on it 👍

      Please note that for PDFs you can annotate on them. Another viewer also made a good point that seeing all of your notes in one place can be nice for one book, which the sticky-notes offer as a comprehensive view, I think that's a solid point. I'd personally like to have the option of both but we'll see if they add that!

    9:20 since you have two pens … you could let one function like a pencil with an eraser and the other like a pen with the other tip you’re talking about. No eraser on a pen.
    It even makes logical sense.
    I don’t know if I even own a real pencil. I think in the last 5 years the only erasers I’ve used have been at work on a whiteboard.
    Nearly all of the writing I do is with pen or digital with a keyboard.
    Math … if I’m doing math I use a pencil. And, well, computers do my math now.

    • @VladimirKostek
      @VladimirKostek  10 месяцев назад +4

      Haha you are certainly right about that, pencils are much less used nowadays. Funny you mention the two modes of the pencil/pen, I'm planning a vid on that with my rM2. Great 🧠's think alike 💡. I have the eraser pen that I keep the normal nibs in to simulate a pencil and then the metallic one in the base pen they have with no eraser. I use the base pen on my scribe too as a pen replacement. Easier than swapping out the tips all the time! You could do the same with the base scribe pen as it's pretty inexpensive 🖊

      The Note Air 3C is next on my list of tablets I'd like to own, specifically for productivity apps on android like notion, excel and using it as a second monitor for my laptop. I mentioned it here because I think they are the best option if you want a tablet replacement with notetaking/e-reader abilities. If you just want something for notes or reading then the scribe/reMarkable/kindle are great options. If you want more info on the 3C I would point you to my friends @KitBetts-Masters or @BrandonKBoswell here on YT, they have made a lot of content on that already. @ruthfv123 Gotcha Ruth, very high brightness will crush through the battery faster. I would recommend ticking the auto brightness setting in the drop-down menu. 12:51 I wanted to comment that one way to make the Scribe look a lot sleeker is to put it in dark mode. This has the same effect as the reMarkable 2 blending the scribe's bezel into the e-paper. I realize that dark mode isn't for everyone and is way less common of a use case, but just a tip! I'll insert some b-roll of that in the interview with Olivia I'm releasing later this week.

    Hey Vladimir. One thing I would like to ask you check for us - if you try writing with the pen on Scribe at the very edge of the right side of the screen - with very low pressure, do you feel like the screen there is less sensitive to the pen than on other parts of the screen? And how does that compare with your Remarkable? Unfortunately my Scribe has that issue and I heard some other users had the same experience.

    • @VladimirKostek
      @VladimirKostek  11 месяцев назад +4

      Hey Victor, unf this is a design flaw of a lot of these devices. Specifically, the electro-magnetic resonance in the pens has interference with the same magnets that are used to attach them 🤣 I'd say it's about the same as the reMarkable for what it's worth. The supernote has resolved this by moving the 🧲 to the top where the bezel is larger for the folio and the pen attaches via a loop on the folio instead of a magnet on the side. Hope that is informative for you

      While I do agree it would be a great feature to have, the notes do have one benefit and that is for revising. When you like at the notes for a good book they'll show up all in a list style making it easier to see them in an overview. Something that is impossible to do with in-page writing. Ideally, I'd like both options. For the relatively low price of the Scribe I don't think it's a deal breaker by any means.

      That's a fair point, having used the Scribe for over a year and being a long term user of the reMarkable line I thought it would be relevant to include the competition and also other new products. 100 MB book? WOW...
      100 MB PDF? OK, that's pretty normal.
      You can side-load books or PDFs to the Kindle via USB, but for PDFs you will lose the "write-on" feature. The only way to write on PDFs is by using any of the "Send-to-Kindle" methods Amazon offers to covert the PDF into a "write-on" format. But if you do this then you will lose the dictionary search, vectorial highlighting... and other formatting features the USB method offers. I don't really understand Amazon but it's clearly they want to monitor your content by doing the "Amazon dance".
