Hey Danielle great information... here is what the LOC is on a kindle... Loc stands for Location. On a Kindle ebook, every paragraph break or new line of text is given a sequential number, called its location number. This Loc# helps Kindle keep track of and jump directly to specific parts of the text when you use features like notes, highlights or bookmarks.
I have used Kindle readers for several years now. I have also watched dozens of RUclips videos on Kindle features. Usually I hear the same thing repeated, but I learned at least half a dozen things that were new to me. I have no idea where you found these features, but thanks for sharing them. Best regards.
Really helpful - thank you! I’ve just bought a signature edition. Just not sure about the Highlighting still and how do I turn off wordwise? Thank you 😊
Hey!! I'm glad that this was so helpful. To turn off Wordwise, go to the menu that's at the top inside of any book. Click on the Aa to open that menu. Click "more" from that menu and scroll all the way down to Wordwise. You should be able to toggle it on and off from there. And for highlights -- do you not understand how to use them, or are you not sure if you like them?
@@katiehallett9501 Oh! Just long press on the word at the beginning of what you want to highlight and then drag your finger (still kind of pressing) to the end of it. Then a box will pop up, and one of the options will be highlight. You can also add notes there!! I show it in this video at around the 22 minute mark. I'm showing how to add notes, so you don't see the highlighting very well, but at the very beginning of the process of adding a note, I highlight a word. If I'd kept pressing and dragging my finger along the screen, it would have kept highlighting. ruclips.net/video/5-3dJiNeJFU/видео.htmlsi=vB1kevojz3R2TLPT
Thank you!! I hope that it's helpful! If there's anything in particular that you feel like it's missing, please let me know, and I will try to include it in a later video.
Very informative. However, I am dissapointed that the Oasis does not have page turn animation. Oh well, it's not that important, but I get dissapointed when the Kindle "Flagship" does not have the latest features. I also like what you say about size. I have the previous generation Paperwhite. It is 6" with the flush screen and does not have the warm light. I prefer page turn buttons so I usually use my Oasis, but sometimes it is nice to have a smaller reader.
Thank you . . . and I agree with what you said about the Oasis not having page turn animation. It's not a big deal . . . but it kind of is. The Oasis really doesn't add a whole lot of new functionality for the added price (I mean, I love it, but . . .), so it DEFINITELY shouldn't take AWAY any of the functions!!
Thank you, this was so helpful 😊 I’ve just got the paper white 11th gen… The popular highlights annoyed me too reading my book the other day. I managed to find it to turn it off :)
I’m a new subscriber and your voice is so soothing. And btw I love your rings . Where do you buy your rings? I love them❤️❤️ and thank you for sharing all these helpful tips on the kindle
If you are like me and use a larger font when reading you might find it difficult when trying to read the dictionary definitions. To get around this click the three dots on the bar below the dictionary entry and click open dictionary. The definition will then open in the same size font as you are using to read your ebook. I don’t feel like I am explaining this very well. 😊
Something about Airplane Mode…if you have a borrowed book, and it’s time to return it…and you “only have a chapter or two” left…airplane mode will help you finish it. Also…Kobo allows you to borrow Overdrive/Libby books directly on your Kobo. I don’t have one…but, I’ve considered one just for that feature before.
Yes!! I keep forgetting that about keeping a library book for just a little longer. 😂 And I had NO idea that you could borrow books directly from a Kobo! Now I really want one, too!!! 😂
Any idea how to reset your vocabulary builder words? I must accidentally click on words a lot and I have 146 words that I absolutely know the meaning of.
Yes and sort of. You can go through each word individually and delete it (delete is an option at the bottom of each "flash card"). There is also a program called SQ Lite that will supposedly allow you to delete all of the vocab words at once. I've never tried it, but you can probably Google it and find it.
When your Kindle goes to sleep, if it shows you ads for other books, it has ads. If it doesn’t have ads, it will either go to a splash screen or the cover of the last book that you had open.
I have a tip and an annoyance. The tip is if you do the reading challenges you can set the time of your Kindle a couple hours back because each day’s cut off is either 10 or 10:30 PM Pacific time so for me on mountain time it gives me extra time to read before the cut off, so I can hit that perfect weak or month. My annoyance is over the collections which in theory helps group books however, there’s no way to keep individual books from showing up in your library that you’ve already read. I don’t want to see the books I’ve already read clogging up my list, but I don’t want to delete them either. I wish the Kindle had a system like the Nook of bookshelves or something similar. I don’t understand the archive feature, but I think I’ve even tried that and it didn’t get the book to disappear. If anybody knows the solution, please help thank you.
Great tip on the Kindle Challenges!! I hadn't even thought about the time zone issue. I haven't messed with how to organize books better -- my Kindle library is a mess. 🙄 I"ll let you know if I figure anything out.
I usually use Bookerly 3 with a boldness of 2, but sometimes I crank it up a little bigger if I'm reading aloud or if my eyes are tired (like if I'm reading late at night when I should be sleeping 😂).

Thank you so much for this video because my grandmother often asks me to do a bunch of these things on her kindle so I’m going to send her this video.
Thank you!! I hope that it's helpful! If there's anything in particular that you feel like it's missing, please let me know, and I will try to include it in a later video.
Always fun to see your kindle content. Happy New Year!

How do you use screen cover and how do I know if I have ads

She reminds me Coin from Hunger Games

So I see no Remarkable 2 playlist????
No . . . I need to work on that.
