I have been reading on my iPhone 12 pro max using the app. But now (because of you 👾😄) I just purchased, through your link, the paperwhite light weight 11th generation 6.8" and got it on sale because I have Kindle unlimited - they offered me a special discount. 👏👏👏
After that purchase, I bought a case and screen protector, so hopefully you get some kind of affiliate pay on that too.
Whatever you earn you deserve more because that was an excellent review and from what I'm seeing, a lot of people are purchasing because of you're excellent reviews.

Before I saw this there was no way I was going to buy an Oasis. You completely changed my mind. You reminded me of how the kinesthetic enjoyment of holding a book or device is almost as important as the enjoyment of the reading itself.
Unfortunately, I saw this video in late March when the Oases were gone. I was crushed. I flailed around a bit trying to decide what to buy and finally settled on a PW SE. The very next day Amazon put a batch of certified refurb Oases up for sale. I quickly cancelled the PW and ordered the 8Gig ad-supported Oasis that I really wanted!
I have been reading on it for the last 10 days or so and couldn't be happier with the Oasis. Your video was definitely spot on for me. Liked and sub'd. Thank you!

For me, it was the physical buttons that were the deal maker. I think for me especially as a left handed person, swiping right to advance pages is a little awkward with your left hand. The Oasis solves that problem with good old fashioned physical buttons that feel natural to use whether right or left handed.

The single best thing I have bought for my 2018 paperwhite is a tablet holder that grabs the headboard. I fall asleep reading, my Kindle goes to sleep, and it's right where I left it in the morning. No kindle falling on my face when I fall asleep, I don't even have to hold it. @@ongjanetteof course! I was already looking for something smaller and cheaper. The only difference between them is basically the water resistance and the size, and those things didn't matter to me at the time, so it was not worth paying more for the paperwhite only to have those 2 features.
I have the basic one for over 5 months now and I love it! I read for hours every single day and I only charge it every 15 days or less, also the kindle is so small that fits every single purse that I have so I can carry with me everywhere I go. Kindle needs to add immersion reading to their dedicated Kindle devices, to allow listening to the audiobook while simultaneously reading the ebook. I can’t understand why this isn’t available on the dedicated hardware yet it’s available in the app on phones and tablets. I hope I am wrong, but there hasn’t been any real news about it being upgraded. I’m partial to its asymmetrical shape and buttons… but if I have to choose another replacement, I’ll was hoping for a non-flush screen one like the Basic but the difference in the number of LEDs between the Oasis and the Basic will probably be too noticeable to me. Do not underestimate the convenience of the small size of the standard Kindle. It is the only one that can fit comfortably in a pocket and takes up very little room in a bag.

I had a KOBO reader way back in the early 2009 era but ended up just using my phone or a tablet after, well fast forward and my eyesight is worsened and migraines plague me if i read this way so i was on the hunt for a kindle that read like a real book since the kindle books are WAY cheaper than in your hand printed seem to be. This video helped me decide ❤ thank you! It will be here tomorrow with a cute little case too. I went with the 11th gen 2022 6 inch model btw. Both for the price and features it had, and the fact it would fit in my purse easily.

The only thing that would have made this video better would be a sticky note above each one with the model labeled. I am watching this because I am not familiar with the models yet, so as you compare and contrast, it would be nice to know at a glance which one "this one" that you're talking about is. You could also do this in post in your video editing program if that is easier or if that aesthetic suits you better.
Otherwise, this was very useful. Unfortunately, the Oasis seems to not be offered anymore. D:

With due respect, it's not a waste of money to have the extra storage on the paperwhite. In my case, I have a 16GB paperwhite, and it's almost full. The problem with that is, I don't have a computer to backup the books on my kindle. Many of my books are sideloaded. So, if I were to delete them, I wouldn't be able to retrieve them. Yes, I have many free books which I got from Amazon, but like I said, there are many sideload books I can't retrieve. I also have very limited data, so re-dowloading books would also be a major issue.

The Oasis remains my favorite device my a large margin. Unfortunately, Amazon discontinued it in the US a few months ago. I believe it's still available outside the US, however. And you can still occasionally find a referb on Amazon too. I expect Amazon will introduce a new color ereader device in 2025, but I don't know anything about it yet to compare it to the Oasis.

My 1st kindle was the kindle keyboard! It had a speaker and could read to you in a robot voice. Remember how they hyped the 1st paperwhite? I had to have it, the newest paperwhite is just not friendly to hold in either hand, and I frequently swipe too many pages and lose my place. I think older software allowed you adjust sensitivity to adjust for this. My favorite way to use the new paperwhite is with a case that stands on a table. It’s battery life and slim Denmark it a great travel companion Ergonomically and build quality the Oasis is unmatched. My scribe is basically a dust collector, I’m going to use it for personal study at some point.

Tried the e-reader, personally wasn't a fan, I much more prefer a book. That being said, I have to strongly disagree with you stating it's cheaper, in my opinion, e-reader is more expensive if you go the legal route.
I don't understand the pricing point of ebooks. How come an ebook is 8 euros and the same book in actual paper is 10 euros? I can't justify the price, even 5 bucks would be far too high. Hell, I've seen ebooks that are the same price as actual books!
The physical book has value, I actually own it, I can resell it, I can purchase it new for 10 bucks and when I'm done sell for 5, an ebook you cannot sell, it's 8 bucks down the drain.
And then there's the price of the e-reader itself, budget options are 100 bucks, so really you're paying a lot more the legal route. Things do change of course if you get your files through other means.

Amazon! Check out their Kindle Daily Deals pages, subscribe to their Kindle Daily Deals daily emails, and search online for other services that scrub Amazon for Kindle ebook deals that will send you emails. Bookbub is and example of this. There's even a service where you can choose the books you want to track, then they'll email you when the ebook you want hits the price you're willing to pay for it. It's called ereaderiq. Good luck!
