I got the Matcha Kindle after I lost my old perfectly serviceable one, and I have no regrets! Saw a comparison of this vs the Paperwhite's display quality + page turning, and the Basic was nearly identical. I also like the smaller size. And you're right, this colourway is gorgeous! I almost want to use it without a case, but maybe after a while when I'm not worried about scratching up my 'new' device.
I have a 2022 Paperwhite and the new basic 2024. The basic could not be better. The print is so clear. The Basic is very portable. I trust that Amazon will never get rid of the Basic Kindle. You're doing great, keep up the good work.
I have the new Paperwhite Signature Edition and the new Kindle Basic. I must honestly say, that the reading quality of the smaller one is slightly better and if you are a lot on the road, the smallness and lightness is a big plus! I would only wish, that the Kindle Basic had an option to change the color temperature.
Thanks Maneet. Your videos have been really helpful. With the new gen models having so many terrible issues, I went ahead and got myself the last gen Kindle Paperwhite. It’s my first ereader ever and it’s incredible how long these things last. Such a pleasure to read.
I got matcha 🍵 as my first kindle on Monday and I love it.. I'm sure the others have better benefits but I find this works for me. I loved reading but couldn't sit and focus with a book I'd lose my spot , page etc and since I figured out the bookmark feature and the fact if I leave it it opens to where I was had me easily jumping back in on my 3rd book this week. I have noticed my battery runs down very fast though
Excellent review. What you haven’t mentioned is that many non-fiction books (history and biographies) contain many color photos, maps and diagrams. As a non-fiction reader, I enjoy these in color. I have the Oasis, which I love, but I believe the overall reading experience is enhanced with the Colorsoft. Mine does have the faint yellow band across the bottom, and Kindle is sending me a new one mid-December. All is good!
I have the paperwhite and basic… I reach for the basic the most! While they are both small and portable, the basic is the perfect size to bring anywhere!!
I bought a Kindle Paperwhite today and will be delivered in 7 days. I am what you call a bookworm. I'm 71 years old and holding an 800 page tome is painful if you have arthritis. The dictionary feature is something that I am excited about using because many of the books are nonfiction historical books that often have words outside of everyday spoken words. Having the unabridged Oxford dictionary would be amazing. while in college in the early 1970's I had the Merriam college dictionary and it served me well. should I splurge and get the Oxford?
Another downside, although very minor, is that the Colorsoft has less battery life than the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition. In my opinion, the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is the true "flagship" Kindle in the lineup. The basic Kindle is also a great device. Its display is razor sharp, and it is very lightweight and durable. Plus, it has the same software as the more expensive Kindles. For this reason, I own both the Kindle Paperwhite model and the Kindle basic model. Both models are definitely made for very specific reading scenarios. 🙂 This is a wonderful and very informative video, and I 100% agree with Maneetpaul's take on the Kindle lineup. Every Kindle is made for a specific someone, and there is no right or wrong answer as to which Kindle you think is best for you. They are all great in their own ways.
As always, great video. But I have an observation: I usually read one hour before sleeping. I have all models - pw, oasis and basic. In this scenario Paperwhite is the worst ergonomically speaking. Too large to be comfortable, I prefer the basic - but no warm light. I bought a kobo Clara just for it…
The Scribe is excellent for reading pdfs, business documents and textbooks or similar material where learning and research are the goals. It is also great for doing crossword puzzles! It is not as good for reading fiction or nonfiction books. For those you want one of the regular Kindles.
Thank you for this video, I think a Basic kindle is good enough for me. This was hard to find though I had to reduce results to past month. I kept getting comparisons from 3 years ago!
I have all 3 of these. I use my colorsoft most of the time and take my matcha basic with me on the go. My paperwhite unfortunately doesn’t get much use but it’s a fantastic device
You got the new paper white or is that an older version? What is annoying there doesn’t seem to be any stores in the UK, where you can compare them all before making a decision. I went to the largest retailer and it had a single device.
Am I the only person who prefers reading on the scribe when it is landscape and two column orientation? To me it is like reading hardcover book. Maybe you can add another bookworm type- hardcover junkies.
I recently got the Matcha, reasons, I wanted it lol, but I installed kindle app on my phone to facilitate set up and then on my iPad, and the app on the Apple devices has so much more features. I wonder why they don’t give their own device these features.
I’m a huge physical reader and this is gonna be my first Kindle after my ancient iPad gave up the ghost…I’m very used to colour covers and highlights but it’s not a must have and tbh I’m put off by all the issues that have been reported. I’m now torn between the Matcha for sheer cuteness and the teal (jade?) Paperwhite for warm light…cuz I usually use that creamy light setting…
I dont understand why the current and new kindle scribe has this large gap between the screen and outer edge. Should have been like the Oasis, one flush screen, edge to edge.
I never bought a kindle and I'm interesting. If there's a kindle that has lmmersion Reading. or if there's a new Kindle coming out with that feature could start reading more. I'm getting into it. Please let me know.😊👍
Have you heard anything about people trading their colorsofts for a paper white only to discover a yellow bar on the paper white as well? I have the colorsoft and was debating returning it for a regular paper white bc the yellow bar and decreased battery life bother me. But mostly the yellow bar.
I love my new colorsoft. I was lucky it seems and got it be where the yellow area at the bottom is barely detectable. You’d have to know to look at it to notice.
The new kindles are junk. They were too rushed. Amazon did really bad quality control. They were simply money hungry. They should have waited a while, and made sure that they were all working properly, and didn't have so many issues. I wanted to get the new paperwhites, but honestly, with all the issues, I won't bother yet.
Maneetpaul, Thanks SO MUCH for your informative videos! I have a 2020 Kindle Oasis, which I love, but am looking to possible upgrade. Which would you recommend as a replacement for the Oasis? Possibly lighter weight as well? Thanks in advance.
The only one that makes sense is the Paperwhite or maybe the Paperwhite signature edition. If you really want color, buy a small android tablet. It will be better than the Colorsoft.
Well, I think the real advantage to color e-ink over a conventional color display is that they're much more power efficient, and they can be seen in any lighting condition. Even direct sunlight. I've heard decent things about other color devices, but they definitely messed the Kindle color up somehow.
does anyone have a screen protector on their kindle? does it interfere with page turning? also, I am curious if Kindle is better than Kobo? I’m not sure how I feel about not owning the books I purchase.🤔
Just wanted to make anyone aware of this. 1- Most Amazon representatives will remove the ads on your Kindle for free, especially if you tell them the Kindle is for your child. 2 - The paperwhite kids edition is the same as the other editions, but it comes standard with 16gb of storage, -no ads by default,- an extended "worry-free" warranty of 2 years, a free folding case (although designed for kids LOL), and it comes with a free half year of kindle kids subscription if you do have kids. I think some other kid features like a parental lock, but you can just use it normally. The kids edition is on sale for $140 now and is the best deal by far IMO. I have the 11th gen kids edition, (got it for $120!!!) when luckily there was a simple forest case option.
Wait, I just read that the new Kids edition does come with Ads, but the previous generation didn't. That's a huge bummer. You can probably still get in touch with someone to have them removed though.
Good evening, Will you make a gift guide for Kobos as well? Your last 8 videos have all been Kindle related and i get that its a new product but i was hoping for a gift guide or comparison/side by side of Kobo color vs Kindle color vs the other color ereaders

I’m new to the kindle world and thinking about buying one. This is the first comparison video I’ve seen that’s been really helpful. Thank you.

I get a padded sleeve, so can read it in its "nude state" but when travelling or just not reading it has some protection.
I use a clear case and a padded sleeve.
@@xavierrethore3778 do you bother with a screen protector, or just the clear case?

I bought a Scribe, because it is like reading a hardcover book, with a lot more information on a page. I use my Paperwhite when I travel.

Why is kindle not launched in India yet?
nice! very much to the point and detailed thx!
I bought the color soft but then returned it and just got the signature regular one

Getting a kindle for the first time so i can read all my light novels on. Im thinking of getting the paperwhite
Paperwhite signature for life! at least, until the scribe mini
if only the kindle basic had a warm light
Does kindle have read aloud or audio option that can help us listen to books on the go
HiHi! I have been saving up for a Kindle and want to ensure I buy the best one. So, on which of these can I open different apps? Namely, Ao3?
Thank u for this
Can you do all these things using the Kindle app on an iPad?
When will be launched in India

It annoys me that they virtually haven’t addressed the issues. Yes there’s a note on the colorsoft page, but the paperwhite has the same issues
@techbyjules yes, I know. Hence why I said what I did. They are going to lose customers because of this. They basically shot themselves in the foot.
Does the newbkindle basic also have that yellow haze issue i thought it was just colorsoft?
@nanabai329 I haven't heard of anything with the basic yet, just the Paperwhite and color soft. So, I honestly don't know.
@nanabai329 FWIW, I have the new Kindle basic in matcha, and there is no yellow tint at the bottom whatsoever.
I want to buy this.
But don't know why Amazon is not selling this anymore in india.
Maneetpaul, Thanks SO MUCH for your informative videos! I have a 2020 Kindle Oasis, which I love, but am looking to possible upgrade. Which would you recommend as a replacement for the Oasis? Possibly lighter weight as well? Thanks in advance.

Sooo are the new paperwhites bad bad or just comparatively bad?
The paperwhites are much too yellow even with temprature turned completely off, so the basic is where it's at this year
Is it easy to read our own epubs on the kindle? (I write and edit books myself and I wanna proofread on the kindle)
