You absolutely need to watch the movies. I think I have seen each of them dozens of times and they never get old. Clint Eastwood really created a cool character that has a timeless quality to him. And the musical score for all of the movies is outstanding. Give yourself a treat on these slow COVID days...:-)

For God's sake, see the movie. Save yourself (from cultural deprivation) before it's too late. The movie is as wonderful as the music. It is by no means merely a good movie. It's a superb movie.

The 'dollars trilogy' is a must see. And to think they were not meant to be high budget movies , and now they are cult classics.

Agreed. Not only is the movie itself great, but the music was a big part - it was inserted at the most perfect times.

The reason you have seen a bunch of these spaghetti western themed videos, is because the Danish National Symphony made a concert themed w Ennio Morricone. They also made a 007, a Star Trek and a Star Wars themed concert's

This performance actually has two classic pieces from the movie, the second is called "The Ecstasy of Gold". Confession time here, in my senior year of high school I worked at a drive-in movie theater, and for a little while they has a triple-header of "Fistful Of Dollars", "Hang-em High", and "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly". I remember that things were winding down by the time "The Ecstasy of Gold" came on, and I was often able to relax and enjoy the music. I lamented that I would probably never hear this beautiful music again after these movies departed the theater. But then, through the magic of RUclips, here it is! It still moves me.

You cannot go wrong on any of Ennio Morricone's soundtracks. I owned all three of the Eastwood 'no-name' soundtracks before ever seeing any of the films - and also read the first two Mad Magazine parodies, "A Fist Full of Lasagna" and "For a Few Ravioli More" before seeing the films. Great reaction, the orchestra NAILED the performance, although I think the original soundtrack used either a muted trumpet or trombone for the 'wah-WAH-wah'. But compliments to the singer!
I also think I've just found a group to fill the void from Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops from the 1980s. thanks to this.

The original movie score was done the same way with vocals, its a major classic western and not only has clint eastwood but Lee Van Cleef as well as Eli Wallach - you only need to hear the first three notes and you know the song.

This is so cool. Their performance is very close to the original but even more robust and exciting. I love the solo singer who does the "wah-wah"s and the whistling. The 2nd selection (3:23) is called "Ecstasy of Gold" and appears later in the movie when Tuco (Eli Wallach) is racing through a Civil War cemetery frantically searching for a particular grave marker. I think the passage at 5:13 is exquisite. The sharp ending is the moment when Tuco spots the grave marker.

The guy hanging there was a patron who had forgotten to turn his cell phone off. The Danish take that very seriously. (just kidding lol. It's from a scene in the movie)

The following movies are a trilogy , and all have to be seen ... then you can appreciate Morricone's genius.
1 A Fistful of Dollars (Per un pugno di dollari, 1964)
2 For a Few Dollars More (Per qualche dollaro in più, 1965)
3 The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo, 1966)

This movies what, 50+ years old? And it still hangs with other favorites of mine like Goodfellas and Pulp Fiction. Says quite a bit since the visuals weren't all that great - the movie was built around the dialogue and music. Legend!

You're the first person who hasn't asked, "why is there a hanging man?" When I hear someone ask that question, I know they don't understand the movie. It's clear based on your comments you understood what you were watching. Congrats to you. I think everyone already knows this but just in case. The man hanging is a representation of the "Ugly" man in the movie who was hanged and Clint Eastwood shot the rope thereby allowing the man to fall and not die. The song, as everyone I hope knows, is the theme song of the movie - The Good The Bad and The Ugly. Also, at @ - you see the in the top, center a silhouette of a man with cape and cowboy hat, I hope everyone knows this is the main character in the movie that Clint Eastwood plays. I think everything I said is quite obvious but just in case you needed clarification.

Hi, I have a suggestion to you. React to finnish symphonic metal band "Nightwish". They are amazing live. If this is your first time listening, I recommend to start with "Ghost Love Score (WACKEN 2013)".
