Greatest western, greatest score, perfect job of the danish orchestra to bring that almost 60 year old peace of unbelievable good music renewed to us again.

I'm guessing the reason so many recommendations for reactions for this video is to demonstrate to the younger folks that music was made with instruments and voices without a lot of electronic trickery. I'm shocked that so many are surprised at this.
It's that, and arguably that many of us "older folks" have seen the movie and remember how significant the sound was too it. For me, it's one of my top-5 movies all-time. I've seen it at least a dozen times and keep my DVD player handy simply on the whim I'm in the mood to see it once more. Leone was great at letting the music work with the story in his films IMO. This segment happened to be at an extremely pivotal point of a great film. This orchestra not only did it a service - they knocked it out of the park.
im so baffled myself.. and this is maybe one of the best ways to show them .. DNSO are sooo sooo good we are very very proud of them ...

When you see it performed as an orchestral piece you appreciate the variation of instruments and vocals coming together in a magical way. Ennio Morricone masterpiece.

I first saw this movie in a drive in when my mom took me and my brothers to see all three of the westerns. Th first time I heard the music I was HOOKED. I've seen the movie so many times that I can hear the music and visualize the movie in my brain. The thing that makes this performance so amazing is the mix. The Sound person did an amazing job on the live mix. Simply astounding.
The DR Koncerthuset's house production team is *grand*. From the sound mix to the video montage, they show everything one would wish to see and hear, and all that in excellent quality.
I love to see somebody with intelligence and taste and sophistication reacting to this

@Matthew Snider your right, i wish more media have classical stuff because the media now are brainwashing the young people and deny some beautiful music from the past . classical music it refreshes your mind and has that intelection influence.
Think what those old composers have said, and done with the instruments we have today.

You're the first person who hasn't asked, "why is there a hanging man?" When I hear someone ask that question, I know they don't understand the movie. I think everyone already knows this but just in case. The man hanging is a representation of the "Ugly" man in the movie who was hanged and Clint Eastwood shot the rope thereby allowing the man to fall and not die. The song, as everyone I hope knows, is the theme song of the movie - The Good The Bad and The Ugly. Also, at @ - you see the in the top, center a silhouette of a man with cape and cowboy hat, I hope everyone knows this is the main character in the movie that Clint Eastwood plays. I think everything I said is quite obvious but just in case you needed clarification.

Another thing I see in most reactions is thinking the lady with the 'wah wahs' was doing it alone, when on the third set, you can clearly see someone playing a harmonica too.

About a year before he died, Ennio Morricone gave a concert in Copenhagen, with his much smaller Orchestra. I could have wished for him to have heard this extreme, full Orchestral Version!

Gabriel's oboe, from the Movie 'Mission' is his Masterpiece. He explained in an interview that is a combination of ancient classical music (Palestrina etc.), ethnic music and religious themes.

I love watching these videos, there is a point in this production, that, without fail, always has the same reaction. No matter who the person is, no matter what preconceptions they have beforehand, no matter how silly they have found the video up until that one moment.
It's right around the piano, the oboe player, and the opera singer.
It's beautiful to watch. I suggest you go watch some other videos, and see what I mean. Once you see it, you can't miss it.
And you can't miss it, because it's at that very point, you'd have to be a complete pyschopath to not be moved.
And even then, I genuinely think, that even pyschopaths would be moved.
It's truly a pivotal moment.
And after that, you can't help but nod your head.
Everyone does it.

the danish orchestra are amazing , but dont forget to give credit to the composer to the genious of ennio morricone who passed away last june 2020. dont forget the other triologies but also the movie the mission .

I just rewatched the movie again and both of these pieces, "Theme from The Good, The bad, and the Ugly" and "Ecstasy of Gold" are actually note for note, instrument for instrument recreation of the original score! I actually like this one better as the original uses a lot of reverb, high treble with moderate base which makes it sound very tinny.
The first piece is the opening sequence of the movie and the second sequence is almost the very end of the movie. Ecstasy of Gold is when Tucco (Eli Wallach) is running around 'Sad Hill' cemetery searching for a grave marked Arch Stanton. Great movie!

The Danish National Symphony Orchestra, have from time to time a theme night, its not often but it have happen a few times.
This was from their Western theme, They have also done "For a few dollars more" & Once upon a time in the West.
As well as a Starwars night, a James Bond night, A Fantasy night (Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, Narnia), A Sci-Fi Night (Fifth Element, Blade Runner, Interstellar, Star Trek), A Mafia themed (Godfather, The untouchables,)..
I have not heard them all, but some of them and to me it have been a bit of a rabbit hole :)
Their Once Upon a Time in the West is the best I've ever heard. As good as this is, that's better.

Have you ever watched the Sofia session orchestra recording 2 Steps From Hell's Never Back Down and Victory tracks? Thomas Bergensen is an amazing composer and its also fun to watch how it all fits together. They have a choir alongside the orchestra too.
@@ChrisAndCats Thank you. I watched the YT video. I also like the old composers like Beethoven, Mozart a lot. Big Bands like the Glenn Miller Orchestra are fun to listen, too. But I'm not an expert, just listen sometimes to orchestral music. My mother called me Carmen because she is a big fan of this opera. But I have nothing in common with the personality of that specific woman. 😁

that performance was superb, but I would have wished for the part "Ecstasy of Gold" the sopranist would have had a stronger soprano voice like a "Richard Wagner Valkyrie" like Susanna Rigacci who performed with Morricone on his live concerts or Nathalia Ushakova who also performed that act once and nailed it..although Christine Nonbo Andersen did it perfect but she has just a light soprano voice and that is an other category of sopranist who would never be hired to sing the part of a Wagner Valkyrie for the big opera houses she would have to sing different parts fitting to her beautiful voice.
You know there are lots of orchestra performances of pink floyd.
