Ennio Morricone should have been at least nominated for the Oscar for this, but the Academy's unfair treatment of his work continued right up until his last nomination and finally, win, for his score for The Hateful 8. He should have won for The Untouchables, but that year was a ridiculously stacked deck.

The lady who sang "wah wah", her name is Tuva Semmingson, a classically trained singer in her own right, she sings everything from opera to standards to pop. A diva of the 1st class. If you look closely, for this concert she was wearing little six shooter earrings. PERFECT!!!
I watched an interview with the two vocalists.Tuva Semmingsen AKA the Wah Wah Lady, as she has been called by the tube, actually likes being called the Wah Wah Lady. She couldn't believe how this performance took off on the tube. Christine Nonbo Andersen is the solo vocalist in the audience. This was her first performance with the Danish National Orchestra. Both ladies nailed their performances and added a stunning element to this Ennio Morricone masterpiece.
Ennio Morricone was a composer of film soundtracks, where he used instruments and objects that are not normally used in an orchestral ensemble. Electric guitars, basses, ocarinas, bongos ... but also whips, gunshots, gusts of wind. Entering Morricone's work is a complete immersion.
A moving tribute for fidelity down to the smallest details is what the Spaghetti Western Orchestra did to him.
A Japanese conductor conducting a Danish orchestra in a rendition of a song written by an Italian for a film financed by Germans and shot in Spain about the American West

This out in the open plains.
The 'wah wah and cry' is the cry at the moon of the coyotes
The 'yoh!yoh ! echo"' is the echo off the hills and canyon walls.
The sticks "crack" is thunder crack of prairie lightning storms, which can be very violent. Also the crack of a horse whip.
The woman high note singing is the scream of the prairie wind.
The beat of the music is the tempo of the horse and rider at a light gallope.
The drums are the native American representation.

Ennio Morriconi was a genius, every spaghetti western had his stamp on it, 😏 his music has haunting and beautiful qualities, he did so much more. Ennio Morricone OMRI[1] (Italian: [ˈɛnnjo morriˈkoːne]; 10 November 1928 - 6 July 2020) was an Italian composer, orchestrator, conductor, and trumpeter who wrote music in a wide range of styles. With more than 400 scores for cinema and television, as well as more than 100 classical works, Morricone is widely considered one of the most prolific and greatest film composers of all time.[2][3] His filmography includes more than 70 award-winning films....👍

I sang choir in high school but straight up hate listening to opera. A friend of mine asked if I’d ever seen an opera, and admitted she hadn’t either, so I found us a night and it was a date.
Live and in person, the power, subtlety, and ability to emote that those singers demonstrated from the stage was mind blowing. When you understand that there is no amplification, it’s even more impressive.
There is nothing like an orchestra live, but to have those voices cutting through on top of it. It’s another level.

    • @carolynbailey7081
      @carolynbailey7081 Год назад

Morricone’s sound tracks for the Clint Eastwood “spaghetti” westerns are, indeed, brilliant. But the Once Upon A Time In The West sound track exceeds all of these by a mile. The film is loaded with stars such as: Henry Fonda, Charles Bronson, Claudia Cardinals and Jason Robards. An opening scene “staring” the little known supporting actor Jack Elam is a special touch. The sound track is the real star. Each main character has theme music suiting that character (my favorite is Cheyenne). The climatic gun fight near the end of the movie is the best music of the movie. The scene and the climax signifies the “death” of the old west and the beginning of the new west. The accompanying score is so perceptive of the change. This film and the sound track should have won every award that exists. Ironic that an Italian director and an Italian composer have created the ultimate western for our enjoyment!

I was mesmerized by this song back in 73 when I was twelve before I had ever seen the movie, my stepdad had the song done by Hugo Montenegro on an eight track tape, it was a huge pop hit for him in the US and UK in 68 and is the best version IMHO.

It's amazing how this is identical to the theme in the movie. And seeing it put together like this just adds an extra level of intrigue.

Polo I'm back. I went to the movie set of this in Mercia, Spain. Stood in the bank of El Paso etc etc. Spiritual, as these three movies are so iconic.

There is a reason his colleagues called Morricone "Il Maestro (The Master)".

The reason this is epic is because you have to understand where it came from an Italian Western featuring Clint Eastwood that was called The Good the Bad and the Ugly this was the soundtrack
