Wasn't that beautiful, indeed you beautiful? I thank you very much that you took your time to liston to that wonderful, timeless wonderful peace of Moviescore, and sharing that with us, thank you, all the best!
I think this is one of the best things on RUclips. I've seen it countless times and it never fails to blow me away. They do a lot of soundtrack covers (extremely well), so this actually isn't unusual for them. They were kind of surprised at how much it blew up on RUclips.
When you watch the movie 🍿🎥 you don't think about what went into this. Coming up with a guitar solo to a riff you come up with us one thing but someone came up with and wrote it out for each type of instrument, harmonies and layering of each type for each section and all the vocals!!! That's what a genius composer does!! Freaking Amazing! Great reaction!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎🎸🤟🏼
What a PURE DELIGHT to see this show up on your channel! I've actually watched this video many times, but I'm pretty certain this was the first time I've seen a reaction to it. Spaghetti Westerns were a HUGE part of my childhood, and my dad was also a big Clint Eastwood fan. So we saw all of those films in the theater when they were released. And the scores for them were all arranged for choirs and orchestras like this. I'm pretty sure this is much the same orchestration used in the movie. And those soloists were spot on. Thank you for taking me further back in the decades than you have thus far!
Hi Red! This was part of a whole concert that DNSO did on movie themes, especially Westerns, they have done many other 'themed' concerts, on Bond movies, Space/Sci-Fi (Star Wars, Star Trek, Inertstellar, etc) - all of them are amazing! 🥰
This gave me chillz when I first saw and heard it. Me and my Pop used to LOVE watching Clint spaghetti westerns and all his stuff together. Thank you Red. Loved this
The Danish National Symphony Orchestra and Choir won the award for best Symphony last year They are on another level with the diverse range of music they perform. Movie soundtracks, video game themes etc. The Godfather theme from the same performance is marvelous
I was maybe 10 years old when the movie came out , my dad took us to see it at the movie theater. Awesome movie and awesome sound track, I love this Danish orchestra performance the best , did you notice the body hanging lol
The DNSO are/were regulars doing Film Music concerts. This one was a Western themed concert and this was the Spaghetti Western section 🙂Look for more of their concerts on Utube, or more segments from this concert - Once Upon A Time In The West or A Fist Full Of Dollars! Also look for anything featuring "The Wah Wah" lady, Tuva Semmingsen, with the orchestra doing "Who Wants To Live Forever:, etc, etc!
The DR Symphony Orcestra have done themed concerts like this quite often.. They have made themes like Lord of The Rings, Star Wars etc.. It is quite an experience, specially in the DR Koncerthuset, it has been designed to bring the performance to the center, and the audience is seated around the orcester, very unique building..
Same here, no R-movies at the time. Just chilling with brother, sis and cousins underneath the table (we were pretty sure our parents, aunts and uncles thought we were invisible (if we stayed very, very silent, almost like stones) watching all westerns, Godfathers, Dirty Harries, and Bud Spencer and Terence Hills (Family Ties of course) We watched everything. The sheer variety of movies/genres at the time was mind boggling. Happy invisible times.
Hi redhead lady - I'm a music freak (from Germany, 74 years old) and I've been addicted to music since I was 15. I listen to music very carefully, follow the instrumentation, try to analyse it with my amateur knowledge. It took me quite a while to realise what the choir was singing at 2:16s and I realised (because of the topic and because I had seen the film) "You know no Gringo - you know no, no, no..." Little things like that are increasingly catching my eye. For example, have you noticed... For example, the small revolvers as earrings at the "Wah Wah Lady" - a nice little detail on the side... I also follow the work of the orchestra - a very impressive song is the title theme of the film "Highlander", or "Halo" and also a very beautiful song from this orchestra "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" Gary Brooker (R. I. P. ) from the British group "Procol Harum" (original from 1967)
You should go to their channel to see their extensive library. You'll be pleasantly surpried at the variety of tributes they offer as well as the consistent quality of their productions.
im 60 years old, i watched these with my father in the 70's, westerns were the thing, hollywood did there big busget ones with many starts, john wayne and others, italy did their lower budget movies, and clint let to do the ilatina, cowboy films, after his rawhide show he was on, best thing he ever did, some of the best wetherns came from itlay or the spaghetti westerns as they were called,
Nicely done appreciation, neighbor. The Danish National Symphony Orchestra also plays music from "A Fistful of Dollars", "For a Few Dollars More" & "Once Upon a Time in the West". And, there is a nice analysis of this on "The Charismatic Voice".
They did a whole series of concerts playing movie soundtracks. Even if you're not a Star Wars fan, watch them do the Cantina Song from the first movie, don't know if you'll ever see an orchestra have so much fun.
My brother immediately put this as his ringtone when cell phones first allowed you to change it. It makes everyone laugh. We were such huge spaghetti western fans that we actually detoured our route for our cross-country and back motorcycle trip to see if it’s true that “the train doesn’t stop in Tucumcari”! 😂
Great performance of an epic classic piece from the days when it wasn't just a movie, it was a cinematic production. I just love those old Sergio Leone westerns!
I was 16 years old in 1970 when some buddies and I hopped into my first car (a 1960 Chevy Corvair) and drove to the next town (they had a theatre) to watch this movie. To this day it is my favourite western. Apparently it is Quentin Tarantino's too. The great Sergio Leone directed and the great Ennio Morricone did the musical score.
I was 18 when this came out and remember it well. Sergio Leone wrote these scores and I’ve watch videos of him leading large orchestras. This orchestra has done several videos along these lines an all are great to listen to.
We need a John Williams weekend 💯💯 Side note on Home Free's Delta Dawn video Austin is wearing the vest that Clint Eastwood wore in the Good The Bad and the Ugly in the video ❤❤❤ Country Girl you are so adorable ❤❤
The Danish National Symphony Orchestra has a John Williams tribute concert 13th of June 2025 and the following two days. Prices from 300 DKK to 750 DKK. Pretty cheap, if you happen to live near Copenhagen, Denmark. Which I happen to do ;-)
Ennio Morricone won an Oscar, Grammy's and many other prizes. I think by now he is regarded as a great 20th century composer, apart from the classical side of his composing (and including non-traitional instruments like whistles and electric guitar) for me it is foremost the emotions that he evokes that make me appreciate his music.
Enjoyed your reaction! Been to two symphonic concerts in Houston, one where they played John Williams music from the Star Wars films (with people from the local Star Wars garrison of cosplayers on stage) and the second was all music from video games. There is nothing like live music whether pop, metal, or symphonic. I think that in any recording process you must lose some of the sub frequencies that give music it's depth and thus live always sounds better. Probably part of the reason ballet and opera still use live orchestras. Fun Note. Took my then 10 year old son to see an Opera (Barber of Seville I think) and he instantly recognized the music from watching Bugs Bunny!
Thank you for this awesome reaction, Red! All I can do is recommend you to get a copy of the DVD from this concert called The Morricone Duel and do more reactions to it. There are more incredible songs waiting to be discovered by you, the setlist was not limited to western movie scores. And also not limited to Ennio Morricone's compositions (hint: The Godfather Theme or Kill Bill).
I remember stumbling across this a couple of years back or so. Brilliantly done, although of course the original score was superb too! Used to love watching repeats of all those spaghetti westerns when I was a kid. Such iconic soundtracks by Ennio Morricone. 🔥
Ennio Morricone is guaranteed to be known by every classically trained musician. Anne-Sophie Mutter also worked with John Williams, the boundaries are fluid.
A lot of people react to this video - but another one from the same concert is overlooked (although I deem it to be even better): "Once Upon a Time in the West - The Danish National Symphony Orchestra & Tuva Semmingsen (Live)" ruclips.net/video/efdswXXjnBA/видео.htmlsi=7BrsdpDVj096UFTg
Ennio Morricone would often conduct this piece on his guest conducting spots. He had a very long and storied career. This performance here was part of a concert billed as "the most dangerous concert ever". Music from The Godfather, Once Upon a Time in the West, Fistful of Dollars and others. You talked about the musicians being well trained. That is true, they are classically trained and perform at an incredibly high level. But every classical musician will also be versed in everything from jazz to pop, movie scores, etc. The woman doing the "wah, wah's" and whistling? That's Tuva Semmingsen, highly regarded Norwegian operatic mezzo-soprano. If you check out from this cancert "Once Upon a Time In the West, you will hear a different side. It's still much like the vocals here, just vocals without words, but her voice is very warm and rich. The Danish National Symphony Orchestra usually does a concert of this type in the summer. All worth checking out. Check your local orchestra, I guarantee they do pops concerts, and often movie themed concerts, sometimes even with the movie playing, with the live orchestra supplying the soundtrack. It's an exciting way to see both a movie and a concert. BTW, Metallica would use the ending of this work "Ecstasy of Gold" in their concerts as walk on music.
I dont know how many times ive listened to this track, and I love it. I think the movie was released the year i was born 66' but that doesnt make it any less watchable for me. I always wonder what the orchestra musicians think when they are playing live with metal bands like Epica, Dimmu Borgir, Metallica.
Yeh. DNSO are brilliant. Not sure if you heard them 'support' Procol Harlem song : Whiter Shade of Pale. "Do yourself a Favour" as one of our gurus in Melbourne would say
Movie soundtrack music is our classical music, and certainly John Williams, and Ennio Morricone will be remembered, and mentioned in the same sentence as Bach, and Beethoven a hundred or more years. I liked that you picked up on 2 of the Easter Eggs, but did you notice the 'six shooter' the "Wa Wa" woman was wearing as an ear-ring? Not sure what was in her other ear. Another interesting thing, is the complexity of the music in the "Man with no Name" trilogy became more and more noticeable as Morricone did the soundtracks. This Orchestra also does music from other sources. Their "007" concert is very good as well.
The last part 'The Ecstasy of Gold' is always used as an intro for Metallica concerts. See 'Metallica - Enter Sandman Live Moscow 1991' for a taste of it . One of their best videos.
Tuva and this other high singing lady here who's name I can't remember, are great singers. Many others have sang these famous music pieces with DR. E.g. Tuva singing Channara Chronicles "Until we go down" is one other one worth checking out 🤘😊👌: ruclips.net/video/ykGBDHNP0v8/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Very cool reaction, Red! This is a great piece of music; the association with spaghetti westerns just makes it that much better. I always wonder just how long it took for the choir and vocalists to get to the point where they didn't crack up in the middle of the piece. Since you've opened up this can of worms, you've got to check out this one from the Swedes: Skyrim - The Dragonborn Comes - Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra / Sabina Zweiacker ruclips.net/video/hnXD6FRZtn0/видео.html.
The hanging man is an integral part of the movie.......... this is a pretty decent version of the tune, but to be honest I prefer Hugo Montenegro and his Orchestra's version, no video of it - just the soundtrack

The second piece is used in the movie when Tuco is running around the graveyard, and in my opinion is the finest score in a movie scene ever!

I am so glad you found this. BTW, check out the pistol earrings the first vocalist is wearing. Talk about going all in.
I’ve seen this a dozen or so times and never noticed that!
In fact Tuva Semmingsen is wearing a pistol on one side and a feather on the other.
The orchestra seemed to love performing this. That's so great to see.

this orchestra is worldclass. so much more to kisten to!
best Western too imho
The conductor (Mistra) is from the Minneapolis symphony. she is incredible!
The Danish National Symphony Orchestra are amazing but only highlight the genius of Ennio Morricone - so much incredible evocative music. Thanks Red!

I found this recording a few years ago. So cool to see you react to it. Orchestras... love this stuff.
The venue they’re playing in was built specifically for their televised concerts.
The DR Konserthuset is a world renown venue for acoustics been there many times
I saw this orchestra last may, with Eivør (you reacted to Falling Free by her) and Ejnar Selvik. Fabulous!
Eivor is a frequent guest artist with the Danish National Symphony
There was actually 3 Clint Eastwood movie songs in this concert. Also a number of other movie title songs.
That’s so cool!!
