About 3 months ago you asked people to send in budget modern decklists. I can't see anywhere that a video was ever made with these decklists. Was the idea canned in the face of the banning of footfalls?
@RiKSh4w I don't know which budget modern deck request you are referring to, if it's the one two months ago, it was for this video: ruclips.net/video/Yjr6luw_2D8/видео.html And if it was the request 5 months ago, it was for this video: ruclips.net/video/eaquYCw-sL0/видео.html
I collected Pokémon cards as a kid before I played magic so when I first got into the game instead of buying tokens I just used my stack of fittingly themed Pokémon cards
Thanks guys for the support! It was a pleasure meeting you and recording the podcast! Next time we'll challenge you to a real cardboard battle, be prepared! 💀🎙
Thank you for bring such great Italian hosts in Lecco! 👌 Hopefully people enjoy the podcast we made together :D the intro is an audio-medium masterpiece
So, you've got Spike, Timmy, and Johnny -- different ways of getting fun from a game. However, there's other ways of getting fun. Based on my experience, there's also fun vampires. They get their fun by suckin' fun out of other people. Not (always) to the point of making other people tilt, but at least to the point where their opponent will give a weary sigh and say -- half annoyed, half wanting to laugh -- "Well ... that certainly was a game." Turbofog is for fun vampires.
There is a ton of amazing and complex lines. For example, Reaping The Graves, as all storm spells do, makes individual copies. While storming off, you cycle each card you get back immediately after each individual storm trigger resolves. This is to keep the amount of creatures in graveyard maximized so you can songs of the damned for your fullest amount. Exhume + repository Skaab makes the deck be able to generate quite literally 50-100 mana near the end of the combo to guarantee the win. If you mill out in the deck, you still win by cycling. You put stingers on the board, then start loop: cycle card, get stinger triggers, resolve stinger triggers but before you draw from your empty library, cycle another card. Resolve more stinger triggers, cycle another, rinse and repeat. Win with multiple death triggers on the stack lol. It's complex and incredible.
a Draw wouldn't have cut it, he needed 15 points for day 2, 4-1-1 was short of So trying to win instead of making both players lose Day2 was the correct and ethical move
This is an incredibly entertaining format. Less serious and very entertaining. It feels like you guys are doing TV level production with this one. Not a format i would enjoy all the time, but its great for what you guys are doing in the vid.
We randomly selected decks from what was submitted, but then picked who got to play each of the 3 decks :) there was an unimaginable amount of Fog and Tron decks submitted though, of various weirdness and power levels :P
15:28 best moment of the whole video, i would even call it top tier cinematography. thoralf sitting still while all the people are moving around looks very cool and i am honest i had a laugh at it as it looked funny still XD
Great video! Love to see pauper action and I'm genuinely impressed we were able to follow three people's stories through 6+ rounds, learning their decks and some of their opponents along the way, all in under half an hour.
I am the guy playing White Wheenie vs Carl on the second round. It was a pleasure getting to know you guys! Even though I immediately knew I was going to lose as he played the first green/blue land 😂😂
I love that people have finally woken up to using a variety of tokens. At an FNM many years ago, I wanted to use a Starry Scorchio I got in a Happy Meal as the token for Tatsumasa, the Dragon's Fang, and my opponent complained that the Neopets text was "too distracting".
These videos of the Cardmarket crew “out in the wild” with viewer-submitted decks are so fun (and look like a lot of work to make). In the future, would like to see a little less crosscutting in the middle of a match just to make it a little easier to follow. But would love to see more videos like this!
One of my best commander friends, which I know since started playing in 2015 is into pauper for a year now. He asked me to join pauper. After watching this I consider.
Carl, I see your St. Viateur Bagel shirt under that cardagan, even with just one of his eyes poking out! I'm literally drinking from a coffee mug with the same logo on it as I watch this and I did a double take.
Hey! I run a budget magic tournament every month at Bad Moon Cafe, where we play with 25$ and a modern budget list! I love this style of magic, where optimising your deck has several other restrictions! If that's something that might interest you for your series do reach out!
Tubro Fog and Cycle Storm are some of the only pauper decks I don't have all the cards for and haven't played yet so I think that's why I get excited to see them.
Cyclestorm is such an interesting deck, really complicated to sequence, it takes a lot of thought to play which is why it doesnt get seen often, besides the obvious weakness.
It would be so cool if you made a video, maybe in a secondary channel, showing us the full games, kinda like what Mengu did in his channel for that Legacy event.
Incredibly fun video! Makes me want to get into pauper! Might go through my collection soon, and filter out some ‘popular’ cards that are in an array of decks! Anyone have a list of cards I should be looking for?

Did you make this video for children why does it play like a Dora the explorer episode
Mtg is played by middle aged men why are you making content for kids
@@steelmyr1485 why are you watching it then
Okay but using bellsprouts as your plant tokens is iconic
Summoned Skull too, that guy had life figured out.
Oh fuck that's SO good
I collected Pokémon cards as a kid before I played magic so when I first got into the game instead of buying tokens I just used my stack of fittingly themed Pokémon cards
My friend bought me Bulbasaur tokens off Etsy to use. They're adorable.
I use Golem pokemon cards for golem tokens.

Paupared
"Here's the thing: I love Turbofog."
My genuine reaction: "What is the *matter* with you?!"
We just like playing magic a lot :)

Turbofog is for fun vampires.
@@DeadlyGrim that is a pretty good description of what i like about mass land destruction, stax, turbofog and group hug/slug
@@DeadlyGrim What about the counterspell everything strategies? I find that even more weary, personally.
not worse than lantern control lol
I had never heard of Cyclestorm before this video but it's love at first sight TBH. What a ridiculous gameplan! It's beautiful!
For real. Never cared to try pauper but that cyclestorm is super cool.
Songs of the damned onehelluvadrug
cyclestorm is my second favourite deck behind blue tempo, its such a blast

caleb gannon has a series for it a awhile ago if you want to check on it
The fact that Carl had the option of a draw and potentially qualifying is awesome
He had to win to qualify, a draw wasn't enough, that's why he went all-in in the last turn.
a Draw wouldn't have cut it, he needed 15 points for day 2, 4-1-1 was short of
So trying to win instead of making both players lose Day2 was the correct and ethical move
And if it wasn't for that dumb timer he would have won, unless Fabio had a third Pyroblast.
The cyclestorm deck looked so cool, shame it ends up being fragile to so many sideboard cards in the format.
This is an incredibly entertaining format. Less serious and very entertaining. It feels like you guys are doing TV level production with this one. Not a format i would enjoy all the time, but its great for what you guys are doing in the vid.
Ok now i want an actual "Cycle Fog" Remix Song
“We play randomly selected decks”
*Carl playing Turbofog*
*Thoralf on Tron*
Sure… random
Well, they said, that the decks were randomly selected, but they had the possibility to choose who plays which deck.
Well we knew who we were sending the decks to. There was probably a LOT of Turbofog and Tron
@@Aaackermann Also possible they randomly selected a pool of decks and hand-picked from there, as Thoralf seems to imply at 2:11
@@jeffbezos4352 Thats what I wanted to say. Maybe my english is flawed, sorry.
We randomly selected decks from what was submitted, but then picked who got to play each of the 3 decks :) there was an unimaginable amount of Fog and Tron decks submitted though, of various weirdness and power levels :P
It's finally out! I was so hyped for this ever since i met you at that Geddon, thank you so much for the kindness and interactions at the tournament!
That ending was funny. Nice job with all the wins, Carl!
Thanks :)
@@CardmarketMagicdidnt all that glitters get banned in pauper after this?
@@NeostormXLMAX yes, we explain it in the video :)
Amazing how Devin was able to storm off even while landlocked. Awesome games!
yesss, cycle storm, my favorite pauper deck, on cardmarket!

Now that is an exciting tournament report. It brings back so many great memories from the grand prix. The cycle - fog song in the end is a nice touch.
Hahahahaha. So gooood!
And that ending bit was just golden
Great video! Love to see pauper action and I'm genuinely impressed we were able to follow three people's stories through 6+ rounds, learning their decks and some of their opponents along the way, all in under half an hour.

Insanely good editing. This is some high quality stuff guys!
So happy to see Karl running it back with 8-peace. My favourite pauper deck for years has changed so much and i will love it forever. ❤
Toffel and carl just fill me with joy.
Both in their respective unique ways.
Thanks for sharing :D

Again thank you Guys for rhe great Video ! Such a great Work and u feel the Love with that IT IS Made !
Carl, I see your St. Viateur Bagel shirt under that cardagan, even with just one of his eyes poking out! I'm literally drinking from a coffee mug with the same logo on it as I watch this and I did a double take.
I see you also enjoy good montreal bagels 😎🥯
It's always a joy, to lay down too sleep and see a card market video was just uploaded 💖 thank you guys 💖
Carl, is that a Piet Mondrian sweater? That's dope!
i LOVE how happy Carl looks when turbo fog comes up on the screen for the first time. That's a man who loves his archetype
damn that was an insane amount of production value, loved it
Simply hilarious cutting and a great video!
Keep up the great work!
Hope to see you guys in Amsterdam =)
Pauper is such a great format - good to see it showcased here
All that glitters looks mad fun, that card would go crazy in my eriette the beguiler deck!
Oh, that explains why I found a playset of Songs of the Damned at my lgs recently - had no idea it was a Pauper playset, neat
absolutely ADORE pauper content, thank you all so much!!
this gotta be one of the funniest videos you guys have posted but so cool at the same time
This is probably my favorite video I've ever seen from a tournament!
Best outro ever lol
Someone make a remix of that :D
The overdubs of the gameplay audio reminds me of iron chef or MXC in the best way
"Mattia plays us a beatiful concert on his invisible piano" killed me :D

Great stuff.
Tubro Fog and Cycle Storm are some of the only pauper decks I don't have all the cards for and haven't played yet so I think that's why I get excited to see them.
YESSSS, THE RETURN OF TURBO FOG
I gotta update my Turbo Fog list and jam some Spelltable games
The end card edit was hilarious
Hey guys! Play those bolts with honour ❤❤ it was so nice to meet you all! See you in Amsterdam ❤
Wonderful edit,, loved to watch it . Shame the day 2 was so close.. Keep up the good work.
Great content guys. Thanks for this. Best regards
1:44 god dang. A 10/40 in turn 1? That is completely broken.
Please keep this version of the outro for future videos
Great episode, very fun. Great editing.
Cyclestorm is such an interesting deck, really complicated to sequence, it takes a lot of thought to play which is why it doesnt get seen often, besides the obvious weakness.
Great video folks!
"Mother-hissing snakes on my mother-hissing playmat" is gonna stick with me for a while :D
Carl: "We randomly selected decks"
Also Carl: *playing turbofog*
Thoralf: *playing tron*
I really like how the "fog" "cycle" fits the beat of the credits at the end 😅
It would be so cool if you made a video, maybe in a secondary channel, showing us the full games, kinda like what Mengu did in his channel for that Legacy event.
I want a video of Devin and Carl saying "Cycling, Fog" for 10 hours!!
You guys are going to make me play pauper at this rate ^^
i appreciate the heads up about All That Glitters lol
amazing! fanmade pauper decks played in the world's largest pauper tournament!
It has been great to have you here in my beloved Lecco, come again!
21:25 echt jetzt Eminem rezitieren???? lol sehr gelungenes Video!
Love these types of videos, great job guys
9:23 Wasn't expecting to hear the homelands.
Carl playing turbofog is an expression of pure joy.
Owwwwwww... Last match.. heartbreak city!
Man I would have loved to have been there. Italy's a bit far from Canada sadly!
Loving the pauper content so much
You guys chosing turbo fog AND cycling storm is the absolute proof that you would see the geneva convention and read it as a checklist
As an Irish person I loved the reference to us hating snakes 😂
21:18 I loved the reference to Eminem
Babe stop everything, cardmarket just uploaded!!!
Best outro ever. Fog cycle fog cycle 🎶😎
Dayum thoralf Is tiny. So much power in such a small container
15:23 How come nobody mentions the rad SCOUT rucksack? ❤ I hope he has the matching Turnbeutel, too!
21:15 please tell thoralf how to pronounce fog 😭😭
He doesn't give a fog
I knew Devin was on Storm when he started cycling. I've played against that deck before and it's pretty good.
I love the bauhaus song at the end!
Thank you for telling me all that glitters was banned, I was thinking about getting that deck actually
Incredibly fun video! Makes me want to get into pauper! Might go through my collection soon, and filter out some ‘popular’ cards that are in an array of decks! Anyone have a list of cards I should be looking for?
the song at the end was awesome
This was recorded before the All That Glitters ban? I didn't catch the caveat.
11:57 if storm count is seven that means you create 7 copy’s in addition to the original one, so you can bring back 8 cards not 7
Monoblack tron was pretty cool. Have to try that next time at my LGS
Would have loved to send you my preferred version of turbofog : petals festival, less foggey and more comboey
Awww, wish I had submitted my pet deck, the all-in MonoBlack Ponza deck, it is really good =D
Legend has it Devin is still cycling to this day
THORALF how was the spaghetti im so jealous
Fun editing style!
where do you got that nice dragon eye sleeves :D
Pauper cycling storm instead of zenith flare is hilarious. Lol
lol, winning a pauper deck is certainly the prize of Alessandro's life
Hell yeah, Gardens! My format favorite ❤
Which artist made this monarch token? It's visible at 3:40
In that flashback shot of Thoralf winning the protour the camera angle makes him seem like he is 1,20m tall.
When are we going to get more Pauper content with the Cycle Storm guy?
Holy fog that's a great fogging video!
YES CYCLE STORM!!!!! LOVE THIS DECK
