  • We asked you to send in decks that were under 100€ using the Cardmarket Shopping Wizard. We picked one at random and, if it can beat Izzet Murktide, we mail it to you. Of course, for this challenging task, we could think of no better pilot than ‪@MengusWorkshop‬ himself!

    Good grief what a match, especially the last game. The combo deck combos twice, had a life total over 100, nearly decked out, and still had to worry about the clock from Murktide.
    And of course the whole thing is being played through by two of the nicest and most talented Magic content creators and accompanied by the channel’s typical high production quality. Bravo Andrea and the lucky viewer, well played Carl, thank you again Cardmarket.

    I rarely comment but this was an awesome video. Things I love in this video:
    - chemistry between Andrea and Carl
    - them having lots of fun
    - competitive budget decks
    - very close game 3
    - Adrea comboing off twice on the same game
    - the editing with the triggers helpers sliding in and out, the animations on the scrys and expressive iteration hits (especially the fetch)
    Congrats guys, this is Magic content at its peak: friendship, gameplay, ambiant, vulgarisation for newer players, production and editing.

      If Andrea casts Tamiyo's safekeeping, he's tapped out and Carl can just cast Unholy Heat in response.

    Awesome match, as always!
    SPOILERS
    Ooof, that Ragavan stealing the Duress. Painful! I don't know if Mengucci would have won if he had the Duress instead, but Carl stealing it definitely meant he lost.
    Case of the Uneaten Feast really pulled it's weight well in this match. And seeing a Zuran Orb actually do something relevant is always fun!

    Just to note, there is a finite end point of the Amelia combo that you cant go passed. The second time she goes off, you ended up with like 20 counters on her but she would have ended the combo after she got to 20. You cant even like sac in response to keep going because it is part of the resolution rather than a new trigger.

    It really says something, how these modern decks have a serious amount of standard cards in them.

    • @AllstateManlove
      @AllstateManlove 10 месяцев назад +1

      Standard is arguably at the strongest and most varied it's ever been. The only problem is, control and boros got the best tools, and decks are basically "can it grind out dimir and stabilize before convoke?"

    • @Victorious_Battle
      @Victorious_Battle 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@AllstateManlove Agreed. I can reliably stay on my feet at least 50% of the time against Boros, but Dimir is flat disgusting and I have a rough time against it.
      I like your assessment and how you laid it out. Clearly thought out, and I respect that.

    A really nice episode! However, we only send creature decks that try to kill fast? Outrageous, my goblins would never do that! On another note, Amalia is probably the deck I have seen most on Arena since Caverns came out.
