Little Aussie cheat for anyone wanting to do the Tim Tamington one. Woolworths: $3 Lamington Fingers, $2.50 Tim Tams (when they're on special, but let's be honest when are they not?). Even better trick, freeze both things and let it slowly melt in the package on your body while you lie on the tiles trying to escape the hell that is Australian summer.
Mike, your attitude is my favourite. "Squares... Like rectangles" and "start with the worst one so if you bunk it it's alright". I'm Australian and I can assure you Tim Tams and Lamingtons are delicacies. Thanks for the recipes guys 😀
What I love about sorted is the fact that most of their recipes don't require fancy equipment and can be made by anyone. Ben's cookie hack literally made me a successful Baker.
The Tim Tam was created by Ian Norris, who was the director of food technology at Arnott's. During 1958, he took a world trip looking for inspiration for new products. While in Britain, he found the Penguin biscuit and decided to "make a better one". and i agree
I recently found a shop that stocked timtams but i think they quickly stopped because it didn't sell too well. Thanks to you now i can make my own to have with coffee. Bless you SORTED.
This makes me love cooking at another level. I cant come out of a SortedFood video without laughing. This channel is always here for me to smile even if it means re re re re watching a video!
As an Aussie, I applaud you for not using the P word when describing Tim Tams. I think you can make the TimTamington even better, if you half the TimTam and put jam in the middle.
Jamie is the huggable loveable one, Ben is the one you pretend you arent keen on but secretly you find what he says interesting but it would ruin your reputation. Barry is that one you cant take anywhere and Mike is the one everyone has a crush on.
You guys should do some New Zealand recipes!! Kiwi pav is always eaten during Xmas so that's relevant! Or a Louise Slice, hokey pokey biscuits, or a good Ol' custard square!
I love you guys for this Tim Tam show! I come from a small island near Australia and once a year my family send me a parcel full of it! Thanks for bringing these amazing biscuits to the UK!!!
When you guys said sorry right before the Ben's Candy shop part, my mind imagined Ben dancing half naked to Candy Shop By 50 cents. I am glad you didn't go that far! Thank you!
Do you know if there is an American version? I'm sure there is but none come to mind. Although one of the grocery stores near by sells penguins so I guess I could buy those.
What to do with the cut-off TimTamington pieces? Line a bowl with "cling film" (AKA plastic wrap or saran wrap here in the US of A), place the cut-off TimTamington slices in the bowl as a layer, sprinkle with brandy or coffee liqueur, fill with layers of some kind of custard, and banana slices, chill thoroughly, turn out onto a plate, eat! Oh, wait - remove the plastic wrap first. Tim Tamington Banana Tiramisu, or Timtambananamisu.
***** very good point. Do they have rubbish jokes like "what is a penguin's favourite dessert?" and then u u know the answer is "jellyfish" on tim tams?

OMG, have just discovered you guys and have been binge watching your playlists...and now I MUST have Tim Tamingtons. Good thing I'm in Aus and Tim Tams are £1.40 instead of the £5 they cost me when I was living in London.

As an Australian, I am happy you made such as episode of FRIDGECAM! But Mike! You forgot to remove the crusty bit from the lamington sponge before you coated them. ;)
@@SortedFoodI know I'm replying to a very old message here, but TimTams have a much stronger malt flavour than penguins, which mostly just taste like chocolate and chocolate biscuits. Instead of using two forks to handle the cake, you could use a potato masher :) place on it, dunk the lamington in the sauce and then transfer to the coconut bowl. Saves a lot of fumbling !
Hannah Russen They look the same but TimTams have a really distinctive taste that's difficult to describe. In the U.K. you can buy them from Waitrose and Ocado - they're really good!
Could i use this biscuit and chocolate cream recipe to make bourbons? I loves me a bourbon :P Also was there some kind of copyright issue with calling them penguins (which they clearly are)?
That intro, I've been to lolly shops like that before and even a couple of times, left without buying anything, it hurt so bad though. Before I go on watching, as much as I love these, I may not ever make them and if I want them, probably just pop down to the supermarket. Dear Tim Tam, please add cheese cake to your already delightful biscuits, I promise to eat lots and tell other people to do the same. Aww I got so excited when I saw that gif, less excited now. Sans coconut though, they do look amazing. Well done lads.
Don't be so sure, Tim Tams are much better. There is much more of the chocolate cream and the coating on a Tim Tam which makes them much better for a Tim Tam slam because they don't melt as quickly. Tim Tams also come in a sooo many flavours like Red Velvet and Pina Colada but the Original and the Double Coated are def the best ones haha.
"We lick lollies and munch balls" 😩😂
Also can I just say Ben's ears look cute in the hat!
REI DECEMBER no
I hope his sherbet fountain isn't lemon flavored.
Hmm...They do say that beetroot turns it pink. 😉
I spat me drink everywhere thanks to that Ben 😂😂 x
The increasing sass level as Ben just stared silently at Jaime in the intro was fantastic!
As an Australian I am appalled that I haven't thought of a tim tamington
Don't worry, we've got your back!
I'm appalled at myself as well
As an Aussue I am not appalled that I have never bothered to watch Neighbours.
Ben's outfit: Willy Wonka meets Mad Hatter...meets nerd. I say that with love of course.

Again, we are so sorry...
where do you get ur sous vide machine in the uk?
SORTEDfood I think you should do a cheesecake battle
NO MEED TO EVER APOLOGIZE 🥰🥰🥰
Seb Briggs Amazon, higher end shops or catering shops ?
What I love about sorted is the fact that most of their recipes don't require fancy equipment and can be made by anyone. Ben's cookie hack literally made me a successful Baker.
We're so glad you found them helpful! 👍
We lick lollies and munch balls... I'm done 😆
Aussie here! Never even occurred to me that you can make tim tams LOL. Love this, might try it.
Got some serious Willy wonka vibes off Ben... I can see it now. Everlasting Squiche-stoppers... mint flavored walls... the works.
Sumra Khan don't forget his sherbet fountain
I was thinking the same thing!! But it also seems a little dark behind the scenes... like they mixed in a bit of Coraline.
An entire sprig-of-mint forest.
Silicone lined tables
Sumra Khan that would be an awesome movie
Y’all I just died ; cackling at this the whole way through . I love it when Ben dresses up !!!!! More please
This show should have way more views. I hope they don't stop making it...
Tim Tams are my favourite cookie and I love doing the Tim Tam slam! :D
Tim tamington, best hybrid I have heard in a while
+Sam G I think we may have peaked.
+SORTEDfood At least you don't say "portmanteus" any more! Was that a running joke? #scardigarf
The Tim Tam was created by Ian Norris, who was the director of food technology at Arnott's. During 1958, he took a world trip looking for inspiration for new products. While in Britain, he found the Penguin biscuit and decided to "make a better one".

This Australia Day, I'm pumping the Hottest 100 and making myself some Tim Tamingtons
Triple J and Tim Tams...
Good job guys, as an Australian I approve of this recipe :)
That was the cleanest way I have ever seen a lamington be made. I remember making them when I was a kid, chocolate EVERYWHERE!
I loved this fridge cam!!!
+Leah Stanisz YAY! 😊
That hat was incredible!!
Just when you thought that this video couldn't get any better, they bring out the cheesecake.
Our secret weapon... never fails!

Drinking Milo through a Tim Tams, HELL YES. THEY'RE EVERYTHING.
C'mon you're not an Aussie if you're not eating Milo straight out of the tin hahahaha (then taking a sip of cold milk)
When I saw this, i shat myself cos the office dog is called milo now. Even tho this comment was made 2 years ago i still panicked
Was just about to go to bed, now my Aussie love for Tim Tams won't let me rest, I must watch!
look at Jamie eating all of Tyrone's halloween candy. So mean and selfish 😣
As an American I can't thank you enough Ben for your Tim Tam recipe xx
I miss the new intro, but your content is gotten a whole lot better. It's worth the intro! Keep it up :)
Idk if anyone has said this yet, but I never want "butt first" to stop. It makes me smile every time even though I know it's coming!
Tim Tamington should be added to the dictionary. Amazing word. Very satisfying to say also lol :D
Mahmuda Akhtar fv
The production value of these new Fridge Cams is epic! Thank you so much for putting so much effort into these! They really show through!
You have to do the Tim Tam slam with them! It's SO tasty!! 😍
Check out the AfterTaste video! sortedfood.com/fridgecam/triple-tim-tam-slam
The more I watch you, guys, the more I love you.
Am I the only one here whose brain said '...to my show!' when Ben stopped after 'Welcome...' ?
how well do your home made Tim Tams slam though? that's the real measure.
I recently found a shop that stocked timtams but i think they quickly stopped because it didn't sell too well. Thanks to you now i can make my own to have with coffee. Bless you SORTED.
Officially one of my most favourite sorted video. Loved it!
YAY! We're so glad you liked it!

Yeah, it was funny the first time, now it's kinda annoying!
This is literally just what I needed after school today! Thanks guys! 🤗☺️
You are so welcome!
We need to reboot this!!! Anyone bumped into this in the year of 2021 like me as well?
Hello! It's been a while since I've signed in here but it's great to be back!

SORTEDfood can we make something for Tyrone? Or has Ben become a deadbeat dad...
Thanks! I've been hanging around Twitter this entire time and was too lazy to log in to YT and FB. XD
That Timtamington just made this True Blue Aussie weep. It's so beautiful.
We lick lollies and munch balls.
I want you guys to print a shirt with that on it.

Got one proud but drooling Aussie here! You've done well Sortedfood ;)
+Jessica Peisley yay! 👌🏼💃🏼
Jamie is the huggable loveable one, Ben is the one you pretend you arent keen on but secretly you find what he says interesting but it would ruin your reputation. Barry is that one you cant take anywhere and Mike is the one everyone has a crush on.

Tim Tam slam with hot chocolate is the best - it makes the whole Tim Tam melt in your mouth.
You guys should do some New Zealand recipes!! Kiwi pav is always eaten during Xmas so that's relevant! Or a Louise Slice, hokey pokey biscuits, or a good Ol' custard square!
Hokey Pokey Biscuits
Goody goody gum drop ice cream!
Yes.
Hang on... custard square? Is that just a vanilla slice (AKA snot block) for those of us across the ditch?
I love you guys for this Tim Tam show! I come from a small island near Australia and once a year my family send me a parcel full of it! Thanks for bringing these amazing biscuits to the UK!!!
"We lick lollies and munch balls." -Ben 2016
We literally can't stop him...
And I'm glad you don't.
I genuinely love this channel so much x
Sorted, can you do an apocalypse themed video on the 21 of December as it marks the 4 the year anniversary for the 2012 end of the year thing
As an Australian I can confirm that Wolverine eats Tim Tams as a midnight snack.
I love this series! can't stop laughing! Mike you make my day:-)
When you guys said sorry right before the Ben's Candy shop part, my mind imagined Ben dancing half naked to Candy Shop By 50 cents. I am glad you didn't go that far! Thank you!
It's a bloody Penguin biscuit!
The opening sequence of this is freakin' amazing!! it's gold!!!
TimTams=penguins in England
Do you know if there is an American version? I'm sure there is but none come to mind. Although one of the grocery stores near by sells penguins so I guess I could buy those.
Miss_Kisa94 my local Target sells Tim Tams, surprisingly enough! Don't know about other grocery stores though.
Matthew Macleod they now seem far less magical...
The US sells them under Pepperidge Farm's name.
Had a genuine giggle at the mention of toadie from neighbours, I really appreciated the joke! Good one Mike :)
Ben looks like the lady from the hunger games in that outfit
Daniel Rosie *Effie Trinket
No, Willy Wonka.
Ben dressed as a Willy Wonka/Mad Hatter hybrid is something I didn't know I needed until now.
I have lived in Australia, I'd take a Tim Tam over a penguin any day. great veriety of Tim Tam flavours as well
As an American I would like to thank Australia for the temp tan it is freaking delicious
What's the difference between a tim tam and a penguin biscuit?
didsomebodysaykatie looks the same to me
didsomebodysaykatie you can't do a Tim Tam slam with a penguin biscuit. plus, I just like the taste of Tim tams better
yeah that's what i thought
that'll explain it then - i tried ages ago with a penguin and it didn't work. maybe i'll have to get some
didsomebodysaykatie Tim tams are based off of penguins...
Day 261 still no Ultimate Nutella Battle :( this makes me sad. X'(
I mean isn't this just a penguin? Also drinking coffee through it is amazing.
It's like a penguin but not exactly a penguin... apparently.
Are Tim tams like penguins?
Charlies Angel the tim tam is based on the penguin there pretty much exactly the same
Charlies Angel Tim tams are kind of like penguins except they're more hazelnutty and are just better
***** very good point. Do they have rubbish jokes like "what is a penguin's favourite dessert?" and then u u know the answer is "jellyfish" on tim tams?
No. Tim tams also aren't wrapped individually, they usually come in a packet of about ten
I like the rubbish penguin jokes so yeah... Ill stay in the UK
The Tim-Tamington (or Lamgintam, perhaps) sounded like such a good idea, but then you go and balls it up by baking the tim tam inside the sponge.
I propose this instead:
1. Bake your sponge as a large slab, cut into squares, split squares in half,
2. Invert the halves so the cut surfaces are now on the outside,
3. Spread on a little raspberry jam on one half, a little whipped cream on the other,
4. stuff the timtam in the centre,
5. then dip and roll in the chocolate/coconut.
Blasphemy! There is nothing better than a lone arnotts tim tam. Although at least you came through with the lamington recipe unlike +communitychannel haha
the only non-original i'll eat is a double-coat - coz it's just an extra layer of choc on the outside :)
OMG, have just discovered you guys and have been binge watching your playlists...and now I MUST have Tim Tamingtons. Good thing I'm in Aus and Tim Tams are £1.40 instead of the £5 they cost me when I was living in London.
....hey SORTEDfood, so this is a long shot but here it goes anyway...
I was wondering if you guys could do an intolerant/allergy ultimate battle as I not only love watching you guys cook, but love the amazing recipes you come up with. I'm asking this as I have an extensive amount of severe intolerances (luckily not allergies) and because of this food is really boring and limited.
I'm intolerant to:
•Egg whites
•Lactose
•White meat
•Caffeine (includes milk/dark chocolate along with coffee, black tea, etc)
•Fermented foods (tofu, vegemite, miso soup, etc)
•Foods with high amounts of starch (potatoes, pasta, rice, etc)
•Most vegetables (I can only eat carrots, cabbage, lettuce, beans (any kind thank goodness), asparagus, and pumpkin)
•I'm also fructose intolerant and can only eat either:
3 strawberries per day, 6 cherries per day, or a quarter of an apple per day.
I usually cook with parsley rosemary, basil, very small amounts of garlic, ginger, mild chillies, salt, pepper, cinnamon and nuts for flavouring.
It would be really cool if you could make a recipe for us intolerant (and allergic) people. Thanks!
chii san Holy moly! I also have a few food allergies and intolerances but this is off chops crazy!! How are you not dead dude???
As an Australian, I am happy you made such as episode of FRIDGECAM! But Mike! You forgot to remove the crusty bit from the lamington sponge before you coated them. ;)
That was beautiful, I've never had TimTams but i would assume they're like Penguins?
JaffaCakesAndCockMonkeys YT yeah they are really similar to Penguins! 😊
Yeah! From what we could work out they are penguins but bigger with more chocolate... Ideal.
but TimTams come in more flavours
@@SortedFoodI know I'm replying to a very old message here, but TimTams have a much stronger malt flavour than penguins, which mostly just taste like chocolate and chocolate biscuits. If you add Horlicks/malt drink powder to the chocolate cream filling (and maybe even add some to the biscuit dough) the flavour will be much closer to a classic Arnotts TimTam.
Probably the only cook show to make me laugh this hard 😂 ❤️
So a tim tam is what we call a penguin - but without the shitty joke .
UncleBill 1980 they're significantly different in both flavour and texture.
duffmanslim So , better than a penguin then?
UncleBill 1980 I've tried both, tim tans are better by far for me
kibummie. Cool ill give them a go then thx
AlmightyStarfire there's a difference between a joke and being a jerk
Hey Mike! Pro tip: you could just scoop it into the tins with one of the ice cream scoops that has the release leaver. Just as controlled, but less washing up 😊
1:16 - what? no innuendo count? for shame, sorted.
BlackCap784 I think the innuendo count is only for accidental innuendos, not the scripted ones
He did say nobody's counting.
It's 3am here in Australia and I'm craving tim tams now, they are my favourite 😍😍
umm, hi, what are those sweets looking like ufos called?
+prettymuchjoanne Flying saucers!
thanks
prettymuchjoanne yes they are, it has some sherbet in
prettymuchjoanne yep this sour sugar in a paper shell
Flying saucers
You had me at Tim-Tam Tequila Slam. You guys are simply the best!
Hey! Kiwis eat tim tams too!
are they sure they're not from. nz
I thought tim tams came from NZ or is it the aussies stealing this from us now too
Tim Tams are Australian!!
pretty sure Lamingtons and Tim tams are both kiwi made....
wertyleigh RIGHT?!
Instead of using two forks to handle the cake, you could use a potato masher :) place on it, dunk the lamington in the sauce and then transfer to the coconut bowl. Saves a lot of fumbling !
So they're like Penguin bars? But with different flavours available?
looks like a penguin/bourbon sorta biscuit
Hannah Russen They look the same but TimTams have a really distinctive taste that's difficult to describe. In the U.K. you can buy them from Waitrose and Ocado - they're really good!
I'm Aussie and this is frickin amazing!!
Could i use this biscuit and chocolate cream recipe to make bourbons? I loves me a bourbon :P Also was there some kind of copyright issue with calling them penguins (which they clearly are)?
Rhi TimTams are different to penguins
I won't lie. The whole "butt first" thing makes me laugh every time 😊
Fridge cams are no longer a sunday thing? :D
+Diana Vardanyan now they're a Sunday and Wednesday thing!
That intro, I've been to lolly shops like that before and even a couple of times, left without buying anything, it hurt so bad though.
Before I go on watching, as much as I love these, I may not ever make them and if I want them, probably just pop down to the supermarket.

They're basically penguin chocolate biscuits
Lobert Rowery what an odd name 'penguin'?
Don't be so sure, Tim Tams are much better. There is much more of the chocolate cream and the coating on a Tim Tam which makes them much better for a Tim Tam slam because they don't melt as quickly.
